This was the smallest Target I've ever seen in my life! I didn't even know they made Targets this small! It had very limited merchandise. It did have some of the lines of greeting cards that my Target no longer carries which I very much appreciated. They basically don't want to check you out. There are a million self check out counters that you have to walk through before approaching a tiny area with two registers and one employee. Being in this Target was very much bizarro world for me because I'm used to ginormous Targets. I guess this works if you need to grab a couple of quick items. In my case, I needed a few cards and I didn't feel like going out the next day so I figured I might as well run in and get it over with while we were walking by. It served its purpose! DO NOT COME HERE if you are in a hurry, disabled, or have other health conditions aka I visibly just had surgery on both my. hands. I struggled at checkout and asked for assistance and the staff kept yelling at me for picking a misplaced item off the shelf. It's a little twilight zone like feeling when you come across this store/-the logo looks different , and then you see Starbucks and CVS under that logo--makes you wonder if there's a new kid in town and he stole their logo! lol The store itself is lack luster...pretty small, only one side is Target basics, and opposite aisle is CVS stuff and in the back is Starbucks. Before this Center City mini Target opened, I don't know how I survived. It seems like this location is meant for people like me who live nearby but get most of their groceries at other locations. This is a good place for small grocery runs where you only need a few standard items. They have a limited selection of just about everything a normal Target would have. One thing that really bothers me is that their shelves are often empty. Perhaps it's because it's a new-ish location and they're still trying to figure out when to stock stuff? But it's been an issue for me numerous times, especially with their eggs. read more

So the new Target in Rittenhouse Square is pretty unique! Love that they have two floors and it carries an abundance of what we are looking for, but in what is still a quaint manageable size for a center city location. Everything was stocked well and employees were actually bringing out even more stock on the upper level. My cashier was friendly and attentive, and while there were a good number of people in the store, I didn't have to wait a long time in the line. Score!! The thing I liked most was that the produce section was stocked well and everything looked fresh. I also like the overall layout of the space. I can tell it was well thought out because I didn't "feel" like I was in a smaller Target. I felt like I was with a good friend I had known for years. And lastly I wanted to see if they had a trial size section, and lo and behold they did! Yay! read more

I was so excited that a Target opened near me, but this place is just ok. From not fresh groceries to a lack of variety in ice cream flavors and the incessant Pandora ads, I only come here when absolutely necessary for household supplies. You can also ship to store which is less expensive than the prices here. They do have plenty of self checkout lanes. It's pretty small with a CVS in front and Starbucks in the back (there's another full one a block away) but generally this Target has the essentials. read more

7:30PM on Sept 27 2017. I waited for 40 min to pick up my online order. There was only 1 person working the cash register and the online pick up. This target is so understaff that the cashier didn't even look at me to acknowledge that someone is helping me. 20 min gone by. I had to go to the check mount line so that the staff will acknowledge me. Then she was apologetic, but she said I will just have to wait for the queue to end. It took another 20 min to have other staff member to come and help out. This target needs to hire people and let customer know that someone is coming to help them. Not bad for a small space! Think of it as a mini-Target. It has all of the things a normal Target has - Starbuck's, CVS pharmacy, even groceries. I only go to this Target for grocery items because that's basically all it has in this location. This morning I went there to buy two items and they were not scanning in the self checkout so I went up to the register. They wouldn't check me out and told me to try again( she did watch me for five minutes) if your self check outs do not work you should have an open register. Surprised by all the negative reviews. This is a very small target compared to what you're used to so obviously their is less to offer. Let's see where do I began so my husband and I drive an hour away to pick up our order. Then upon arrival my husband says I'm here to pick up an order. The only guy who handles the orders then proceeds to go and take his break. So the other staff members say he will wait on you when he comes off break and start laughing and playing. So they tell my husband you can cancel your order you havent been charged yet. So my husband says I have already been charged see it came out of my account and I drove an hour to get it so after waiting an hour and a half in the store they finally handed my husband the item. After trying in every way not to give him what we paid for. This Target seems to achieve what the one at Market East unfortunately does not. I think the 2nd level helps, as they have an expanded grocery section. Upstairs there's homewares, an electronics section, toys, beauty, etc. This looks to be a few cuts above the "micro-Target" I first mentioned here. The staff at this location are incredibly unhelpful and rude. When I asked where the "baby stuff" was, the woman told me they didn't have baby stuff - just diapers and wipes. Wrong. They have a plethora of baby stuff, including bath, teething, toys, swaddles, bibs, etc. I'm just glad I continued to look despite her obvious lack of knowledge regarding the store. The man at checkout was equally rude and unhelpful. He told me, a pregnant lady in heels, to walk my basket back to the front door. He couldn't take it behind the counter? That's rude. This is the least stocked and most unorganized Target I have ever been to. This location never has essentials such as deodorants, toliet paper, bar soap etc. I don't know whether they don't stock these items on purpose, they get wiped out, or if they simply lack in their inventory skills. Target is making it so easy for me to spend my paycheck, especially with its newest location conveniently on my way home each day. The front area with the clothes is rather crowded, but they do have a decent selection. I'm most impressed with the food section. They have a lot of grab-and-go options, but they also carry meat, milk, frozen food, and tons of dry goods. While it probably won't replace your regular grocery shopping needs, it's great to pick up a few items when you can't get to the grocery store. A great addition to the Rittenhouse area and I'm very happy that I no longer have to drive to South Philly just to pick up a few odds and ends. read more

I have been waiting with great anticipation for the opening of this store and it did not disappoint. The hours are fantastic (open till 10:00 pm most nights) and I think they used the space as intelligently as they could. There are two floors, the first compromising primarily of grocery items and clothing. The second floor has health/beauty products ,food storage, baby and pet supplies, electronics, and home decor. There are several products I am familiar with that I know to be more expensive at this Target Express versus a normal Target. That being said, for the convenience, some of those things are completely worth it. read more

I really like coming to this Target, it's close to where I live. I'm taking a star off my original 5 star review because recently I had an unpleasant interaction when checking out at the register. The manager was very apologetic and said he would address things properly with the cashier. I like the Target on 19th St better, much better customer service but they're a little further from where I live and that store has a good return policy. They do have great prices and the selection is good. I'm thinking of going to 19th St more often but I'll try this Target again. Good store, BUT BE CAREFUL about their pricing. Too many times the prices charged at checkout are significantly higher than what is posted on the shelf for the item. Every time I bring it to the attention of an employee at self check out they are polite and change the price to me to match the lower price on the shelf. BUT despite my repeated complaints to stop this overcharging problem, it persists, seemingly without any concern by management. The Attorney General of Pennsylvania has received written complaints about this issue. read more

Target is a great addition to this area! I have been buying my groceries here since it opened and I have been pleasantly surprised with their selection. Today I found all of the ingredients I need to bake my pumpkin bread and make soup from scratch. The two stories really help increase room for the products they carry. I did not like the prices on their health and beauty section though, so I will stick to CVS across the street for those products. For example, one bottle of Essie nail polish was a little over $11 here (it is $8 in the suburbs). To me, its not worth it to buy beauty produces/toiletries here unless there is a Cartwheel coupon, so make sure to look out! read more

This target is a glorified cvs. I was surprised to find out that it was only one floor and the clothes are all kind of mixed together in one spot so you might be looking at women's pjs and the next shelf is men's tshirts or kids shoes. The check out lanes are mostly self check out, which, as far as I could tell do not allow you to use coupons or the cartwheel app, which is frustrating. There was a regular check out lane, but only one cashier and no one around to help with the inevitable self-check out problems. Not worth walking over. I'm having a hard time writing a review for target. I think it's pretty convenient that it's on my walk home, but I don't know if I would go out of my way to come here. It's great for picking up some half-and-half or a quick yogurt if I'm hungry. The folks at the Starbucks inside are pretty nice. It's also a great meeting spot for my girlfriend and I when we are both coming from work and need a place to meet. Not sure what this says about our relationship, but I can easily keep myself entertained because she is usually running a little late. read more
