I was struggling with two littles ones and they went above and beyond to help me make my purchase and take it to my car. If that isn't high quality customer care with a smile, then I don't want it is is! This is a good target. There is plenty of parking. The store is huge so you are sure to find what you are looking for. Sometimes it's so big I get lost figuring my way around. The staff is helpful and the pharmacy is terrific. They have good healthy salads as well up at the front of the store if you want to grab a to-go lunch. They also have pizza etc. for the kids. We are lucky to have a target like this in San Pedro. Sometimes the checkout lines can be a little slow, but it's never that bad as they usually have a lot of cash registers open. You just have to keep your eyes peeled for a short line. The lines are staggered so sometimes the good lines are easy to miss. read more

This store is always tidy and the staff are friendly. Grocery selection is decent. Parking is abundant. The lines are atrocious at any time of the day, but that is pretty common with any big-box store. However, the self-checkout helps if you've only got a few items. San Pedro gets a bad rap, but this is honestly one of the best Targets in the area. read more

The Target store on Gaffey Street in San Pedro is conveniently located for most San Pedro residents and opened recently so it's a relatively new store. Good parking, signage, and street exposure. Parking lot is kept clean and there are usually plenty of shopping carts in the store. Food is decent, nothing exceptional just solid hot dogs, popcorn, etc. Selection of items is Target's strong point IMO, you can find just about anything you might need nowadays at Target. Electronics area is great, iPhones, TV's, tablets, games galore. NOTE: I even scored a $200 gift card this past christmas as part of Target's special holiday promotion on iPads and effectively got a $200 discount on the thing which was clearance priced to begin with. Clothing rocks, don't front a lot of us shop Target for clothes. Specifically I mean socks, underwear, sweats, etc. They usually have good quality stuff on the clearance isle that you can score if you consistently troll for it. Also check website for deals that come around every so often. My one issue w Target, they hassled my friend Amber on a simple return that should've been easy but turned into a nightmare for her. I just went to hell and back with this Target store. We got ripped off by an employee when we purchased 2 gift cards and other merchandise. She swiped our cards but did the "bait and switch" by giving us a blank card and pocketting the "valid" gift card. I discovered this when the gift card recipient told me that one of the cards was emplty. When I returned to Target to complain, the manager was insinuating that we were "in cohoots" with the cashier. The entire transaction was caught on video..and it did show the cashier not giving us our valid gift card. And when we checked, the gift card that we bought but never got was already spent. Then the manager said we were threatening her because we wanted to call the police to file a report on a cashier "cheating and stealing" customers gift cards. If I were the manager, I would definitely want to know if one of my employees are stealing from the store/customers. Instead, she refused to talk to us and wouldn't even acknowledge the problem (which security personel said wasn't the first incident). Plus the video was proof. This manager was insane and in no way able to run this store and its employees. How dare she even blame the customer when there was video proof. And if we were "in cohoots", why would I report to the police the person involved???? read more

I love this Target. I always find what I need and enjoy shopping here. The employees are always extremely helpful and friendly and often go out of their way to assist! However, the entrance to the store is completely unacceptable. I do not know why the level of filth is allowed to remain at this store. Surely they have employees who are supposed to power wash the entrance when it is black with grime and black flattened dirty gum, food, cigarette butts.. I could go on. The trash cans are always overflowing and never seem to be emptied. Someone took the time to paint Pokeballs but can't empty the trash? I have complained on FB, in the store and letters have been written on behalf of our community to HQ, asking Target to clean it up. The complaints fall on deaf ears. What do we need to do to get Target to clean up their act? Their outside appearance is gross! Target, please respect the community you moved into. We deserve better. The exterior of this store is a disgusting mess. I talked to 2 managers (on the same day) regarding the filthy entrance and trash throughout the parking lot. Both managers made it seem like there wasn't much they could do. I called corporate and talked to Guest Relations and was told the local management was responsible for getting things cleaned up. So I haven't shopped here in a awhile but I know it won't be my last time. Target has always been one of those stores where ( and I'm sure my fellow Yelpers will agree, that have shopped here... its a "one stop shop place") you can pretty much get anything and everything. From DVD movies, vitamins, clothes, electronics, furniture but they don't stop there...you can get food, ice cream, fruit, snacks, beverages, and candy. Honestly this just tips the iceberg... because I could honestly go, and on and on about the things that you can purchase here. This particular store is located in San Pedro and even though this store has been here for awhile...it was about time because San Pedro needed one just like they needed a Home Depot but that is another review. They have great parking lot and have a place to lock your bike if you are only picking up a few things. But honestly that is hard to do. Because you usually will end up buying a few other things that were not on your list. So I haven't purchased a great many things that I needed to return. But as long as I had the receipt there wasn't too much of a hassle or if I didn't, I usually got store credit for the amount of my purchase that I was returning. All in all it usually worked out pretty good. Today in particular I had a good experience with Emma who went out of her way to help me with a question about vitamins. But she didn't stop there, I had a question about the Target Red Card and the new one with a chip in it. Still I had a another question of whether they accept applications for a Target Visa or MasterCard. She explained they no longer exist and that the Target Red Card and Target Debit Card(Target Debit will be hooked to your checking from your bank) are the only ones available anymore. She was very nice, willing to assist and help me with whatever question I had. Explained everything where I was able to understand it very clearly. Truly a very helpful person and I look forward to my next visit. read more

This target has the worst customer service! The cashiers are rude and slow. The target on sepulveda and Figueroa is much better.

I honestly can say that in the shorts couple of months that I have lived in this city, I have gine to Target more than 75 times. I love the store, everything seems to always be in stock, friemdly employees... etc.... The experience I had today completely changed my view of this particular store. It all started off when I was at the cashier checking out, I had some items that I was going to use my coupons on. When scanning my coupons the cashier said she could not accept a specific coupon because it exceeded the value of the item I was purchasing (she did not however bother to even try to scan the coupon). She also came up with the excuse that the coupon could not be used because the item I was purchasing was a trial size item, and the pictures on the coupon were of a regular sized item. We told her that we were not looking for any cash back from Target, and the coupon itself it can be used with ANY product of that specific brand, did not say excludes trial size. I am very much aware of Targets coupon policy and have no problem with that. She then called for help and another team member by the name of Alana came to clarify and aid her with her questions about the coupon (mind you we already have a line that is ticked off behind us) the young lady who came to aid the cashier was completely rude and didnt even bother to ask the associate at the cashier box if she even attempted to scan the coupon for the item I was trying to purchase. I was honestly embarrased and just said ok and leave that item behind and proceed to check out with all my other items/coupons. When I was almost out of the store I realized that I used a coupon that exceeded the value of the product and it actually went through. So I questioned, why was this coupon ok... but the other was a big problem? Targets coupon policy clearly states that if the coupon exceeds the vlaue of the product, the coupon will decrease to the value of the item. (Again, no problem with me, of course we do have to pay the sales tax). I went back to the cashier and tried to explain everything to the cashier and she was not sure of why it went through so she sent me to customer service with the item I was trying to purchase. We proceeded to tell the guy at the counter our situation... when all of a sudden Alana (the girl that came to aid the cashier) came and was completely rude off her mind and using a very arrogant and demeaning tone to me. It was alot of back and forth chatter. She then said "you want me to prive it to you and show you that this cant be done?" So I said "yes show me".. she proceeded to scan the product and scan the coupon and guesss what?.... the coupon DID actually work! The only thing she said was, "oops, moaded!" After all that humiliation for nothing? Completely unprofessional. If I wanted bad service and no customer skills I would have gone to Wal-Mart! No, apologies, no nothing! We called the Store General Manager (David) directly right after we left to let him know of how our experience was. He said "im sorry, im sorry", we let him know that we will not be coming back and he said "im sorry I dont know what else I can do for you". We said we will call the corporate office and he said ok. Did not even try to get my contact information to get back at me when he heard the story from his employees... judt a horrible store from top to bottom as far as employees (I do however like some employees there.) I do however would give a word of advice to the General Manager of this store.. train your employees in Customer service, inform the of your coupon policy, and the verbage used here is very much unprofessional. read more

This review is for the Starbucks inside this Target. Due to all the bad experiences I've had ordering drinks here, I just come here to reload my card because of the convenient location. Each and every time I ordered drinks here, the staff were rude and the drinks were either not the right temperature or downright gross! I've never received my drink NOT tasting bitter or watered down. The staff are always chatting with Target staff, even while customers are right in front of them trying to order. I often visit this Target location since it is no more than 6 minutes away from my home. After the horrible customer service I received from a so-called manager by the name of Antonio, I will no longer visit this store. Here's the story: I found two items in the clearance section. There are signs displayed that advertise "50% Off Clearance". I immediately felt like a Bargain Shopper Winner because I assumed that the clearance price would have 50% additional taken off. As my 19 month old son, my mom, and I went through the Self-Checkout, I scanned the clearance items and noticed that the price reflected what was on the tag and nothing additional. I calmly asked the Self-Checkout Attendant how come the price did not reflect what was on the tag and she replied "Hold on. Let me get someone." Now in hindsight, she could have easily just explained the clearance to me but instead, she involved management. When the manager, Antonio, arrived he nonchalantly and rudely attempted to explain the clearance pricing by saying very slowly (as if I suffered from a hearing disability) "... this is the original price tag, okay? This is the clearance tag..." so I interjected and said "I an not redundant and do not appreciate you addressing me as such". He responded by saying "well, the price is here! There isn't anything additional and it doesn't say that anywhere!" This response infuriated me to the point that I asked him to remove them items from transaction. He coldly responded in a non-caring tone "That's fine! No problem!" So, I drove home, put my son down for his nap, and decided to return to the store because I refuse to allow such treatment from a representative at my favorite store. I walked in with my mom and requested to speak with the General Manager. While waiting, Antonio decides to address the issue with an acting manager and neglected to mention his rude behavior. I interjected by saying "Ummm... that's not what happened. Tell the truth!" He says "That is what happened and if you feel that way there's nothing I can do about it." So, a manager named Henry appeared after our verbal exchange and advised that he would "look into" the matter. Unfortunately, I have no confidence in what Henry may or may not do. Antonio walks around that store with a God-like Complex. He clearly believes that he is untouchable and I, the customer, is beneath him. It's not what you say but how you say it. Speak to someone like you would want your loved ones spoken to. I've decided to no longer patronize this Target location and am advising others to do the same if they ever feel that their hard-working, earned dollars aren't valued and appreciated. read more

Items are never in stock, there are plenty of employees but they seem to run away when you need help or have a question, the store is always messy, the list goes on. My last target visit I went to the fitting room and the lady wouldn't even get up from her chair while sorting clothes and handing out numbers for clothing items. And for the items I didn't want she said "go ahead and put them here" on a very large and tall rack that was almost hard for me to reach. Pure laziness. I get there and half of the items on my list are empty shelves. Had an associate help and apparently their inventory is so screwed up that it shows they have plenty of the items that they actually don't have any of. Don't buy gift cards at Target. We purchased 2- $40 cards in May for twin babies who had a birthday party. A couple weeks after the party, the Mother complained that no money was on one of the cards. So we took it back to the store in San Pedro where it was bought. This was about 30 days after buying the gift card. As soon as we mentioned what happened at the customer service desk, the employees were scattering around to find out who was the cashier on duty at the time. Didn't think much about that. Then, the security people came back after 30 minutes to tell us they reviewed the video and there is nothing they can do about it. We were shocked! Why not? They actually insinuated we were in it with the cashier and to take our complaint elsewhere. When we asked to see the video with the manager on duty, they said to us that she (Nikki) can't help. So we asked if we can call the police to review the video with them and catch the cashier. They were not interested in doing that either and Nikki took this as a threat! Why would we call in the police if we're involved? Why would they feel threatened if we called the police? Wouldn't they rather catch the thief? We tried to call the regional manager or corporate office....tried looking for a number on the internet.....they are quick to take your money and hide if there is a serious problem. After 1 hour and leaving the store, we got a call from the Manager on the phone. She was threatening us and would'nt hear us out! Told her we would call the police and meet her at the store again. She said she would take care of the situation if we came back. We returned and waited again 1 hour for and customer service/security to come out and apologize and gave us $3 coupons for waiting! Watch out for the slight hand of the cashiers and management support of these thieves. Not to mention the embarrassment and wasted time to right a wrong. read more

Ok, so like most people, I frickin' love Target! and like most people, I go in knowing what i need to get and usually come out with lots more, I think I need help, but thats my own impulse buying problem. I was so happy when they finally opened the store in San Pedro, It's nice not to have to drive 20 minutes just to get to a target anymore. This is a fairly new target only been open about 3 years or so now, but a very clean store and the target staff are always around and always helpful. the check out lines are usually very short, if the line gets too long they will open a new check stand, its great. they recently added a grocery section which is also very nice to have. I love their frozen food section, they have these energy saving lights in the freezer section that have a motion detector on them so when you walk by the lights turn on, its a great way to save energy, plus it makes me feel like i have Jedi mind powers as i walk by and the lights turn on. I loves me some Target!!! read more

Decent store but sick of not being able to get a free bag for my stuff......Makes me mad

I'm not sure that Target at any location needs another review, being the giant corporation that they are...but here goes anyway, if for no other reasons than to inform potential shoppers. Like most Targets, it's like a beehive - swarms coming in and out at all hours, with the weekends being the worst. That's typical for Target, but what makes it sooo much more annoying is that they seem to stock shelves at any ol' time of day. So, as you're pushing your cart through the freezer section with your 1 year old, you're dodging giant pallets of crap blocking the aisle ways, and flippant stockers who could not care less that you can't push past their frozen peas. The first time it happened I shrugged it off, thinking it was a one-time thing. Nope. EVERY time I've shopped there, it's the same. My other complaints are that the kids clothing section always looks like a cyclone hit it, and the staff working the store try to avoid eye contact so you won't ask them a question, unlike other Targets where someone pops out behind every aisle chirping "Finding everything OK?". Cashiers are always helpful and pleasant, though. When possible, I get on the 110 and go a few miles north to the Target off Sepulveda in Carson. It's a lesser shade of cuckoo. read more

In the line at target... For some reason tellers here are very very slow.... MARNISE a teller with her light off on check stand 11 told customers she was closed... Customers at this point had been waiting in the two open lines for a long time which were backed up past the second registers... Marnise then decide to reopen her line... Which was great but instead of taking customers from the previous lines who had been waiting for awhile (in order) she decide to take people from the end of the line who had just arrived. POOR JUDGEMENT AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! target you need better checkers because they are two slow. read more

Quite possibly the slowest target I have ever been too. Always crowded and no lanes open at check out. I do not like this location but I am stuck because this is the closest to where I live. People are like packed sardines at checkout and it's possibly the most anxiety I have experienced while at checkout and you have the next person breathing (literally) on your shoulders because the line is wrapping around the checkout aisle. During the hours of 5-7:30 people are looking to grab something and get home. Work on your staffing levels! read more

This target is right off the 110 freeway. Lines are never long and the store is generally very quiet. Wine selection is good, no hard liquor. Plenty of parking out front. read more

However, today, December 9, 2014 at 1:55 p.m., my 80-year-old mother and I were almost to the entrance, when 3 young hispanic males wearing Target shirts walked past us, apparently going home. Apparently, they didn't know my blond, blue-eyed mother and I speak Spanish; when they walked up to us, they looked toward my mother and called out, "Mira la vieja! Abuela!", which means, "Look at the old lady! Grandma!" My mother asked, "Are they talking to us?" "I think so," I answered. Then, turning around to them as they walked away, I yelled, "Mal educados! Feos!" It's almost 4 p.m., and I'm still furious at them. Because there were three of them and they acted like gang members, I didn't go near them to get their names. The manager, Andrea, said she looked on the footage, apparently with the security guard, but didn't see them say anything to us, or me turn around to yell at them. When I asked for the address to the corporate office, she said she didn't know it. Why is it that a store knows how to arrest someone for shoplifting, but doesn't have the address of the corporate office posted in the lunch room? While I'm on the subject of good manners, I'd like to point out that gum chewing while on the job makes the worker look like a cud-chewing cow with a low I.Q. It also makes him look lazy and sloppy. It's sad that the actions of 3 bullies who work for Target in San Pedro should earn just 1 star for the entire store! Although the other workers Mom and I dealt with were doing a good job, JUST ONE (OR, IN THIS CASE, 3) ROTTEN APPLES CAN RUIN THE BATCH! I don't plan to bring my mother to this Target store in the future; she can buy her items elsewhere. Does it really take seven employees (blocking an entire isle) to clean up a small dried spill? Why are there always large groups of employees chatting like they have nothing better to do... like stock empty shelves? Also, be sure to count your change! I was glad when this Target (close to my house) opened. This location is always clean and well stocked. Product knowledgeable employees. This was the first target I encountered with a grocery section(I realize there's others but I had never been to one). There are some good produce,meat,dairy, and frozen food items but I still had to go to the grocery store to get other groceries not available here. read more
