I just wanted to give a shoutout to the folks working at the donation drop off. I've been twice now…read moreand they are just so patient, kind and friendly. I had brought a ton of baby seats and the guy kindly explained to me why he couldn't take them, but then also offered other ways I could try and get rid of them. Typically at other donation centers you're rudely told they can't take them. That didn't happen here and I really appreciated the way he handled it! I also can't get over the fact that you get a 20% off coupon for donating items. You do have to dig to find items, but once you find something you truly fall in love with it and it's at a pretty epic price. Savers is now a really fun part of my self-care routine :-)

This is a smaller goodwill. It's organized and well kept. More than half the store is for clothes. The bad: The coffee table was missing a metal spoke in the back. The cashier said she'd ask the manager for a discount but the manager said no. Outside of the coffee table, I didn't see many interesting home goods. I'm usually most interested in the plates, pots and vases section but there weren't a lot of great options here. There were very few toys. The interesting: I grew up shopping at goodwill with my dad. Today, I still have a raggedy Ann doll with backwards legs that my dad got for me from goodwill.

The lady at the front didn't acknowledge me when I walked in even though I heard her interacting with everyone else. I just ignored it and went about my shopping. I saw some I liked but I didn't get them because I wanted to see if any other stores had ones that were a little closer to my set. I didn't, so I returned today because it was such a great deal. She acknowledged me this time but I could tell she was just forcing it. I went up to purchase the cups and was heading out when I stopped to look at some more tea cups right by the door. Well she walked up to me and asked me what I had. I thought she was just curious about what I'd ended up getting and said tea cups. She asked me where I was going with them, that I needed to purchase them. I was at a loss of words. Why would I be walking out of a store with a taped up box if I hadn't paid for it?!?! I even had the receipt in my hands. The lady that helped me with my purchase walked up and stated I'd paid for it already. I cried when I got into my car. I love visiting thrift stores because I loved antique/vintage items. Unfortunately, I may never know if it's because of my skin color but that was the vibe I got from the entire situation. It's a vary plain white building in the middle of a neighborhood, and I almost passed it by thinking my GPS was tricking me. Low & behold, there it was. I bravely walked inside not quite knowing what to expect. Holy inventory overload!!! This is truly a hoarders paradise. 2nd only to E.J.'s Odds & Ends in LA., I wasn't quite sure where to look or how to take it all in! I would definitly classify closer to rummage or salvage & thrift. It's would be hard to imagine that there aren't a million treasures buried in this shop...but the reality is that you may never find them. Clothes clothes clothes galore! But they are stuffed as deep & high as you can reach so difficult to look at. The only clothes area I cruised was the massive selection of coats. Tons of vintage leather coats $15-$30, if I wanted to take the time sure I could have found some cool ones. Other overwhelming items were tools. Huge bins of everything you could imagine (hammers, tire irons, shovels, screwdrivers)...probably about 1/2 of the store was tools. I tried to find my usual art & furniture items without much luck. I found 1 box of frames but it was almost impossible to look through without spending 5 minutes digging them out. There was no furniture. I would love to come back if the store decided to clean house and put everything out in the parking lot so that you could actually look at it. Or if I need a coat. Otherwise, it's probably not worth the hassle.

It was a bit disorganized that the items are not sorted by size or by color, but they are making an effort to organize the items. I saw employees, putting items onto the racks. I also noticed that they are arranged by clothing item: Women's, coats, women's jeans, men's jeans" and so on. That being said I went digging. I checked for brand, size, type of fabric and if it looked brand new. I found 9 items in less than 30 minutes. I'm not even trying. I went to the fitting room to try them on. I found a sign that says you can only try 3 items or less. But because the store looked semi-empty and I genuinely came here to buy sweaters, I went in anyway. I'm sorry. Out of the 9 items. I liked 3 of them. One of the items I put away was a vintage wool sweater (made in the USA) and while it was beautiful, the neck was small, the fabric felt stiff, and on top of that it reeked of dust. My mom even commented that I smelled like dust after putting the unwanted clothes back in the "go back rack." The 3 that I found were: - Madewell cardigan - mustard color ($9) - J. Crew Teddie sweater - caramel color ($8) - a men's sweater that I can't tell the name of from the cursive. But it looked brand new. it was a dark burgundy color. ($8) Note-able go-backs: - Levi's plaid checkered button up long sleeve shirt (red and black) - Tommy Hilfiger sweater in dark green (I regret not taking this but it was too big for me) - Nordstrom cashmere blend white sparkly sweater - this was too small at the waist - felt like a cropped sweater. not my style. My mom found vintage 80's/90's princess house dishes for $6. That is a steal considering she bought one at an antique mall in San Juan Capistrano for $35. Now, the prices are surprisingly low compared to Salvation Army in South West Torrance area. the Madewell cardigan alone would have been $15-20 if I found it there. There is always new cool stuff and it takes hours to get through everything. My favorite thing to do is go through all the vintage pictures they have. Pictured here are some vintage dog pictures I've collected and some oil dispensers. I put coffee syrup in the dispensers and have them on my coffee cart. Nothing is too expensive either, considering how old and great quality a lot of the stuff is. The staff is always kind and helpful!
