This target well stocked, had good deals and friendly staff as well as clean parking lot and store. Everything was valued as normal target and offered a huge selection of clothes toys and line ex. I was surprised to see such a filthy bathroom for a target. The odor was really strong and the stalls had all sorts of drips on them. It's smells strong of urine and was filthy. I was also surprised to see the self checkout was all dusty and dirty as well for the self serve drink area. read more

I visited Target because I had a gift card to use and I wanted to see if I could use it for Christmas shopping. I got there at 8:00 when the store opened. I was able to get what I wanted without having to deal with a lot of people. Everything was easy to find. The shopping area and bathrooms were neat and clean. I got some great bargains. This Target also features a Starbucks. I highly recommend this Target and will be back. read more

This store has very bad customer service. I have gotten in multiple situations when I ask an employee for something specific and they are always rude and commonly respond with " I Don't know", and also they don't even bother to help or check in With Customers. Everything I need on a daily basis is nearly never in stock. Also the Security Guard (Wanna be cop) supposedly says there is a rule that you have to leave if you don't get anything. He also accuses me and my family of stealing. Me and my family have almost never had a good time shopping. I really do not recommend this Target. I'm not much of a fan of Walmart but I would definitely rather go there then to the Target in South Elgin. read more

When I lived in town, this was the Target I frequent most often. It's a SuperTarget, but I don't really care for their produce department since there are other stores that have better selections within close proximity. What I really liked the customer service desk, they consistently delivered great service. This was over three years ago. The pharmacy is rude. After spending the whole day in the hospital for a 3 year old. They blew off the doctors suggestion for a smaller does of Tylenol and Motrin through the pharmacy and told us to just buy over the counter. The pharmacist laughed at the question too. We live nearby and have become local loyal return customers. Staff is friendly and enjoy seeing and saying hi to our kiddos each time we are in. I enjoy watching my kids and the Target team have fun together. Aside from the great staff, the store is clean and well stocked. I used to work at this location and it was the worst the abuse and harassment. A manager called brian would always yell at me for not being fast even doe i had a bit of autism in me. Worked there 2018. Never went back because when i reported to hr they just told me that brian was having a bad day and he had stressed but that is no reason for him to pull me on the side where he knew there was no cameras on site and he would yell at me telling me that he doesnt like hispanics and that we are all the same. I was shocked and by the time i made a report brian literally came up to me and grabbed my arm so hard that he bruised my arm and told me to leave i was fired. After years later i found out i never got fired he just wanted me to never get rehired. Target had traumatized me to the point where i don't want to work for anyone else because of companies like this can actually damage someone . But finally i opened up my very own business and im becoming very successful but a message i want to give to this target location is that your HR is so bad hopefully you guys fired her for also being racist and covering Brian when he had actually abused me physically and mentally. read more

Let me say that this Target used to be my go-to, because it was so close to my house, but they remodeled it. The new layout is aggravating, nothing is where it logically should be in the grocery section, and the rest of the store lost its "flow". You used to be able to come in, make one circuit, and get everywhere you wanted to, now you zig and zag all over the place. I find myself visiting less and less. I know they can't change it back, but until they fix it a little, I'll go elsewhere. read more

Have been here many times throughout the years. Never had a bad experience. Always clean and orderly, especially when compared to some other Targets I've visited. There was a brief period of when they had Jeni's ice cream, which was great. Bigger selection than the nearby Elgin Target. I had bought a Thanksgiving ham from their meat section before, cooked it according to the directions, and it turned out well. I like that they introduced stocking local items. Pretty flower section. Their interior decor section could be better displayed, like the Evanston and Roger Park locations. read more

Three things: 1.) The Starbucks is bad. I've had to explain how to make my drink previously, and they rush it and make it taste like crap when there is no one in line. I'll gladly wait for a quality product, but please don't rush it. 2.) They have this man who works in the customer service department who looks like and is about as pleasant to deal with someone who just pushed an old lady down some stairs. I think his name is Reid or Rick or something and he is just about the most uncompassionate person you can imagine. NEVER cracks a smile or even attempts playful small talk. My wife and I just had our first child, so we had plenty of returns from the baby shower and if we saw him in there, we'd just wait till he went on break. I hate being negative on yelp. I rarely do it. But don't ever buy your fruit from this super target unless it's bananas. Haven't had a problem with those. I should be kicking myself in the butt because I continue to spend my money at this location on their fruit even after time and time again the fruit has NOT been fresh. Grimy moldy flavorless.... The only reason this store gets a "2" is because it's still Target, and at the end of the day, I enjoy their products, prices, and benefits to having a red card. That being said, this store is terrible. Half of the employees are really nice; however, the other half are rude. When they are stocking shelves in the mornings, they make it impossible to navigate, and aren't friendly. My biggest gripe though is in regards to the expiration dates. I've had issues with not being able to buy salads and milk because they were already past the code; however, the worst is the yogurt. My toddler loves the Stonyfield YoKids yogurts in the 6 pack small containers. Unfortunately, it's becoming increasingly difficult to purchase, as no one is paying attention to the expiration dates. I have brought this up to 2 store employees within the past month, yet nothing is being done. I was there this morning (4/8/16) and while looking through the yogurt to find one that didn't expire in 2 days, I found one that expired on 3/4/16. I am tired of this store not paying attention to these codes, and am hoping to voice my opinion in case the manager actually reads these. read more

Was asked to leave simply for talking to a sales associate. Was rudely told in front of the employee that if the said employee was not going on break I would have to leave and rudely waved her hands at me. Little did they know I was going to do my shopping there, so I just took my business elsewhere as I will continue to. All other employees are incredibly friendly yet this employee, who by the way is of no managerial position, asks me to leave. I am glad to finally move near a Target that seriously has everything i need. I am a fan of one stop shopping. What I am loving more is the selection of Organic options they provide. This Target is fantastic! It has everything I need in one place. The staff is very helpful and friendly. I'm a stay at home mom so I'm there a lot and many of them recognize me. I'd like to give a shout out to some of their wonderful employees who make my day a little brighter: Tony, Anna, Sherry, Michael, Kali, Ellie, Angela, Jen, Daisy, and Kim. There was an incident where I was shopping with my infant son and another shopper tried to "help" me with unsolicited advice that upset my son so much he was inconsolable. All while I had a cart full of groceries. Two Target employees helped me check out so I could tend to my screaming baby. They didn't get mad or frustrated because my baby was making a scene which I really appreciated. read more

This is the 3rd time I've come to this location on my lunch break and no one was available at the cafe because they were on a break. First off, stop taking your breaks during lunch time when you've literally only had the cafe open for an hour. Second off, either have someone else cover their breaks because I don't imagine that register is all that different from the ones up front or make it an option for self check out so people don't have to wait around for 15mins.... read more

So today is a very disappointing day. Target is my go to store for literally everything. Today Sunday April 17 I walked into the South Elgin location with my mother and my daughter with all intentions of dropping a lot of money since my daughter is growing and needs a whole new wardrobe. Needless to say we both filled out carts with clothes for her and ourselves, toys and other miscellaneous things. Went in line to pay and got to the cashier who always asks " Would you like to sign up for a red card?" When I declined the offer to sign up he proceeds to say that i did not like to spend money that I would rather pay full price. Look i get you save 5% with the red card but I am not a big fan of credit cards and I do not like how the debit card take 3 days before they even take the money from your bank account. Been there done that. I dont like it and i explained why i didnt want a red card for him to drop the subject. Then he started telling me well thats awesome you dont want a red card. I cant believe you just wont sign up for a red card. youll save money like 5% with a red card. its ridiculous that you would spend full price and not even get a red card. Thats really awesome that you wont sign up. with a nasty tone. then turns to look at my mother and says " so im assuming you're like her and arent going to get the red card" and my mother turned to him and said no then he proceeds to tell her the same things with an attitude and belittling us for not getting a red card. so naturally i start walking to a different cashier for them to call a manager because i was not going to tolerate being talked down to. whether i am spending $2.00 or $200.00 i am a customer and because i am not signing up for your red card doesnt mean i get treated differently. so the manager comes over there and i am trying to explain what happened as hes whispering something in her ear and my mother chimes in to tell her that he also made comments to her which made the "manager" snap on my mother accusing her of lying and proceeds to tell my mother that he is the best employee that they have in the store. which is false because i always go to this location and never have been talked to like that, anyways, so i jumped in and told her that it was okay that he talked to her customers like that who are trying to purchase items? and proceeds to tell me that what we had told her was hard to believe and of course my mother told the manager that he was being an a$$ because we didnt get that card and she again attacks my mother so we leave all the stuff there and never made a purchase and ended up going to a different store that wasnt target to make our purchases. did i mention as we are walking away the "manager" Jess Hernandez was laughing at us bc apparently it was funny to her. the worse customer service i have ever experienced and from my favorite store as well. needless to say i will never be back to that location. and i will tell everyone i know and dont know that that location is not what they might expect. its really sad that this location has lost not only me and my mother but our family and friends. all over a red card. they need to look and their managers and teach them how to handle situations with customers. i will shop at target ( different location ) but now that will not be my go to. that will be my 4th option when i cant seem to find what im looking for at other stores that i will not frequent rather then there. read more

Love that they offer online Target coupons and allow me to stack it with more then one manufacturer coupon, love the free gift cards for buying items I would anyways, love getting the extra 5% of shopping days. Great return policy on food and other items. My only complaint is that they constantly discontinue grocery items for no reason at all, I wish they wold carry more Gluten & Dairy-Free items. The produce is way overpriced but there other items are cheaper then Jewel & Dominicks so it is usually a break even point. read more

Eager to try out my new Target Red Card, we decided to do our bi-weekly big grocery trip here. Huge selection of foods to choose from. Very helpful and attentive (almost to a fault) employees. We were asked 6 or 7 seven times "can I help you find something?" sometimes by the same person. I guess if that is the only negative (sort of) that's not so bad. Had a giant cartload of groceries, got 5% off and we were happy with our haul. read more

This is a review of the pharmacy inside Target only. The staff here is incredibly incompetent and slow. They sent me to another CVS to get my prescription filled, but they never told that CVS to actually fill my prescription to begin with. I had to wait for them to send it to the south Elgin CVS, and wait for it to be filled and the copay price was so outrageous that I could not afford it anyway. If only this Target pharmacy had let me know the $ to begin with, I would not have wasted my time driving to the other location and waiting and ending up with no medication. The south elgin CVS ended up contacting the doctor the next day( because the office was closed by then) to get my prescription changed to something affordable. read more

I went in for cough medicine and I had to ask the pharmacist what the best one was. He was so friendly and nice he could even tell I wasn't from Illinois and told me the best places to go in town. I then took the cough drops and continued my shopping. All the employees were kind, friendly and Helpful. One of the electronics people helped me figure out what movie to buy for my nephew. Once I got to the cashier she asked me how my day was. I made small talk with her and found out she lived in Thornwood. She was very cheerful and kind. Just like everyone else. read more

My son has been taking generic Prozac (Fluoxetine) capsules for 9 months and I had always filled his prescription at Target. Up until a month ago Target had always used NorthStar manufacturer but then switched to Aurobindo. I thought nothing of the change until my son had been taking the Aurobindo brand Fluoxetine for 3 weeks when all of his old symptoms had returned. I was ready to increase his dose when I remembered that Target had changed the manufacturer of the drug. I got on line and found out that Aurobindo is a pharmaceutical company that is located in India and has a spotty history with the FDA. I went to WalMart and refilled my sons prescription with NorthStar (located in Tennessee) and after only a few days my son is doing great. I called Target and told them that I was concerned with the quality of Fluoxetine that they were dispensing and they were not concerned. I was told that they had given out thousands of Aurobindo Fluoxetine capsules and had not had one complaint. Apparently, my complaint doesn't count. I will no longer get prescriptions filled at Target and will fill a report with the FDA as soon as the government reopens. read more

I have been going to this target since it opened. I have never really had a problem until this and last year. The manager there in the mornings during the week is not my favorite person. The staff always seems to have to call her over because they were not trained properly. I know the rules better then the people who work there. I have a friend that works at another target and she told me everything you need to know about limits and coupons etc. There was no limit on one item i wanted to purchase-mind you i have a business so it was a large amount (i get it) but again no limit listed. I got to check out and she freak out! She told me that i could not purchase more than 4 items. I let her know there was no limit but she didn't care. I thought the whole idea is to make money??? There were plenty left so much that when i went back later that week there was almost the same amount left. Second time I had a problem was on coupons. I read the policy over and over again. I know what is allowed. Again at check out with my coupons the same manager comes running over and freaked out that i had so many coupons. Don't put coupons out if you don't want your customers to use them. Third problem happened last week. I went in to purchase some items i have purchased 10x's over again-this time it was not allowed to use a coupon from target and a manufacture coupon. Which is there policy! I will NEVER shop at this target again! I called corporate to tell them about my complaints and they let me know that I was correct in every instance. They apologized and that was it.
