Enormous store which carries most anything you can think of. There's plenty of parking in an enormous lot and the remodel makes the store look very nice. If you're looking for choice, Meijer's does feel very much like a mix of Walmart and Target together -- or like a slightly more upscale version of Woodman's. So you can find most anything you're looking for in this store with generally competitive prices. Like every other enormous store, they can sometimes suffer from inconsistency -- particularly in terms of food -- where the quality and pricing isn't necessarily as good as you might expect from peer superstores. Having the enormous choice can help mitigate some of this due to having such a large variety of available items at different price points. Meijer is a huge super store. My husband and I went there looking for some basic grocery needs. We got our food and a few extras that we didn't expect to buy but found good prices on. The fresh grocery area was really large and offers a big variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. You can also get deli sandwiches to take to work. At Meijer you can also buy clothes, pharmacy and almost any other item you could need. I had a great experience and recommend Meijer. read more

Yesterday on Saturday, June 28, 2025 around 5:40 PM I was at Meijer Pharmacy picking up my prescription. I had been there the week prior or maybe about five days prior to pick up the very same prescription. The week prior they told me that my insurance was not covering the cost, but the lady said that she would look into it and take care of it since I had never been charged for this particular prescription. So I gave them almost a week when I went in yesterday and it was like nothing had been done. Case in point, it was the very same lady who had helped me previously! When I told the lady that I previously had this medication and that I had never been charged, she told me to wait and that she would just be a minute. So after I was standing there for about 10-15 minutes, she came back and told me that my insurance required a prior authorization to fill this medication. She could not tell me why she did not tell me the very same thing previously or any of the other details that she just repeated over from the previous week. At this point, I was trying to just be done with this situation because it was close to closing, I was sure everyone wanted to go home and my back was killing me. Matter of fact, that's why I am getting that medication in the first place. It is because of my back problems, having had a botched spinal surgery about 20 years ago. This medication is a non-narcotic and I don't get it all the time. Plus it does not make sense that I would need a prior authorization on an authorized refill. The doctor had given me two or three refills for it. So to add insult to injury, the lady then gave me a terrible look after I told her that my back was killing me. Then she told me that I could contact my own insurance customer service to work this out. I felt so insulted and so betrayed. I have always been patient with this particular pharmacy or any pharmacy. It's unfortunate that just a modicum of respect could not be offered in kind. This bothered me enough to create this review which is a bother in and of itself! I don't like doing this, but this really sticks in my craw. This person should not be in customer service. Seriously, why??? read more

Unlike other grocery stores' pickup orders, the prices and total here are estimates and not the price you will be charged. My final bill was $20 more than the online checkout total. Apparently, this occurred because I picked up my order the following day since there were no time slots available for the current day. I guess the prices changed the following day. There is a small note somewhere on their website but I thought it was meant for produce or deli since they have to be weighed. Not going to order online from here in the future. read more

They will not price match Amazon for video games and video game accessories, like DualShock 4 controllers, and the guy in the electronics department was kind of a dick about it. Additionally, their DualShock 4 controllers are $64.99, five dollars more than Sony's suggested retail price. They aren't even special edition ones. I've attached a pic I took on March 10th of their cooler with Fairlife milk in it. When the videos of horrific animal cruelty were revealed last summer, I made several attempts to contact somebody from Meijer via their Facebook page about their relationship with the supplier of Fairlife milk, Fair Oaks Farms. My messages were ignored, but I saw that they replied promptly to someone's complaint about their birthday cake. God forbid somebody's ruined birthday cake or whatever it was, but lets just ignore baby cows getting kicked, stabbed, and thrown about. read more

Terrible store customer service. I can see why it only rated 3 stars. I bought an Apple gift card there for $200. The card was fraudulent, having been used up. I went there10 days ago to get my money back. The customer service manager, Julio, was rude, obnoxious and self-righteous. His direct supervisor, Tracie was supposed to call me back within 2 days. I finally called her -,turned out that idiot Julio did give me her my message. Stay away from store when that idiot Julio is on duty. The cashiers and clerks are very pleasant. but I wrote letter to Store Director Corey Coles 2 weeks ago - he never responded. What does that tell you about Meijer management? I grew up shopping at Meijer, back when it was called Thrifty Acres. Guess I've been a fan even before I realized it. They mainly have locations in the Midwest, wished they would expand to FL. It's a one stop shop, like a Super Walmart but better. They have a large produce section with really fresh produce. Be sure to sign up for Mperks, their savings program. It allows you to clip digital coupons and rewards you with instance coupons once you reach a certain spending amount. The weekly ad savings are pretty good too. Sometimes they'll have buy 10, get the 11th one free specials. Right now they have a buy 6 items and save $1 off each item promo (items can be mixed and matched). My girls would love to ride on Sandy the mechanical horse before we leave the store. After all theses years it's nice that rides are only a penny. During this last visit, we choose to do our own self checkout and the lady that was monitoring the lanes was very nice and helpful. It reminded me why I love shopping here. read more

This is my grocery store, and pretty much the only place I shop when I am able, and I love it here. This particular location is much less busy than some of the others, which makes it less stressful to shop, check out, and find good product. The produce department is always very well stocked- and they put up notes if there is a problem with the produce and it isn't there (one time this summer the grapes they got were in such bad shape they couldn't put them out- and there was a note explaining). I appreciate the signage is very clear in the store, and I have received excellent service in the Deli, Dairy, and Floral department from various employees. This week I wanted to take a balloon bouquet to the hospital for my grandma as she is not allowed flowers, and a young man from the service desk made them all for me in less than 15 minutes- and it cost only 16 dollars- such a bargain! The service department is also excellent- I often use self checkout as I used to work in retail, but the cashiers are competent, friendly, and easily able to help if there is a problem. Their service desk is speedy and wonderful- I've left compliments for them several times with store management. I will continue to shop here- and highly recommend it due to great prices, good product, and overall excellent staff! They also recently repaired their parking lot so it looks a lot nicer. Do not use the Pick Up at Meijer on Randall Road in Elgin, IL. Horrible job picking items out! The Lemon they gave me had brown stuff on it, was not in a plastic produce bag, & attached the sticker right to the Lemon! They also said they didn't have two of the other items in my order. I needed to make a grocery trip to this Meijer last week so that I could get some groceries for quarantining (this is during the COVID-19 pandemic). My goal was to purchase as many items as I could so that I would not have to make another grocery trip for a while. I purchased a cart FULL of food and household goods and though my checkout took longer than a typical check out would, NICOLE the cashier, was very friendly and had a positive attitude. Another employee, ADRIAN, came over and told me and Nicole a joke to help make the checkout more enjoyable and ease the stress during this stressful time of COVID-19. I've loved Meijer since the days when it was still called "Meijer's Thrifty Acres," and you would be hard pressed to locate one outside of Michigan. Great place for 1 stop, 24 hour shopping. Need gas, a bed, parakeet food, a gun, potato salad, a tv, a dog crate, an engagement ring, beer, socks, or general grocery items? Oh yeah, they have it (and then some), conveniently available 24 hours a day! Pretty standard for a Meijer's, with a gas station and a pharmacy, and a wide selection of reasonably priced goods. Staff is always friendly and happy to help you locate anything you might be having trouble locating within it's arena like confines. What I really, really, really, really like about this Meijer's, however, is that it is in Kane County, so you are only taxed at 7% here, v. the Give Us Your First Born Child tax rates applied in good ol' Cook. Those savings add up, believe me, especially when purchasing super sin items like bottled water and booze. Sure, it's a bit of a haul from the city, but each and every time I shop here, I silently give the finger to Stroger and walk out the door with a smile on my face. read more

I came here for some Singoalla cookies (Swedish), but I went a little crazy. A little? Not even close to a little! First of all, its in a nice location AND it even has a gas station out in front which is pretty cheap (hey, I come from the city!) The produce selection is amazing, they had different types of fruit and veggies. When you first come in, you automatically smell the bakery. YUMMY! Stuff here is pretty cheap here! International aisle... Don't even get me started on how crazy I went in that aisle! I'm impressed with Meijer overall :D read more

Very clean, very organized, and great prices. Their prices on books are very reasonable and great selections. The prices on their food and liquor do vary per season but during fall to winter, they have the best prices on fruit. Their fruit is always very good and very fresh. The only reason why I am giving this Meijer four stars out of five is because their quality in shoes are not the best, by far. So I bought ribs here a few month back and they LITERALLY smelled like rotten eggs when I opened them. After telling my cousin about this he too said he had the same thing happen a year ago. The deli counter was not staffed adequately when I last came...and why I started shopping elsewhere. My advise upon my most recent visit. Get a number upon entering the store and do your other shopping first in the near by frozen and produce sections. On my recent return visit it was a 30 minute wait to get through 10 people on a Sunday afternoon. With the grocery store competition on Randal Road with nearby Jewel Osco, Walmart, Target Greatland and Caputo's, the Meijer management team needs to focus on the deli department and get it together! 4.5 star review here...people can say what they'd like about Meijer, it remains my go to shopping destination. The produce is the best on Randall Rd in the South Elgin area (vs: Jewel, Target, Walmart and Caputos), there is great variety of brand names, and the people are really nice. The manager Jay went above and beyond for me earlier this week which sparked my high review, but even generally speaking the deli counter workers, produce workers and customer service desk workers are all great. My biggest complaint are the carts at this location, most stink, but I still drop by two-three times a week for all our family needs. read more

I have yet to decide when to go to Meijer for sale items. Usually, the selection is scarce. Meijer will give you an opportunity to purchase the item(s) at a later time when you go to the customer service counter. I normally need the items when I am shopping. Beyond this, the staff is very helpful and the store is clean. Selection of non-sale items is good and they offer a wide range of brands and products. I had to drop my rating for this review. I shopped around 8:30 AM on the 4th of March. Selection for Dole salad on sale was slim, and 75% were set to expire that day or within one to two days. I was able to find one variation with a more reasonable date, not my desired choice, but I needed the product. There was only one jar of tartar sauce available. The lean cuisine selection was sparse. This was another sale item. This was another bad experience. I think that I will try the one in St. Charles, not convenient, but before I give up on this chain, I will do comparison shopping. This place hands-down gets five stars. I called up ahead of time to see if this location had a particular winter hat I was looking for which my girlfriend had guide me for Christmas. The lady that answered the phone said that she had two of them in stock. I live 40 miles from this location and asked if she could hold them for me. She said she would and that they would be behind the jewelry counter. I got there and asked if someone could see if the hats were behind the counter like she said they would be. Sadly they were not. The manager got involved and he looked all over the place for them. Low and behold someone must have put them back on the shelf. I was happy nonetheless to find them and on top of it to also find three additional ones. Now I absolutely love this hat so I bought all five of them. Yes I know this is ridiculous but I'm very particular with my winter hat in this hat I want to have for the rest of my life regardless of if my current hat where is out or if I accidentally lose my hat. But let's get past that. Besides locating the hats for me he also check to see if the Algonquin store had any in stock. They did and I headed over there immediately after leaving their store. It was one big happy hat story that I will never forget. It turned out that I got two more at the Algonquin location. I will never have to worry about wearing another winter hat again I have a stockpile of eight of them now. Best day of my life! Love the ability to get whatever I need all in one place and cheaper then Walmart or Target most time

My dad went here today and realized he lost his card. When he called and went in store multiple times (looking for 3 hours) to ask if they had his card multiple times, they said no and did not even bother looking. He dug through their trash cans for an hour to see if he accidentally dropped it in the cans in the cold and searching the parking lot. My mom later got lucky and saw that a lady facebook messaged her to tell her she had turned in the card. After, my dad went back into the store to tell them a lady did in fact turn in the card and they do have it. Two minutes later after they actually looked for it, they found it. I do not know what the employees intentions were and if they wanted the card or if they were just lazy. A friend of mine also relized their car was hit in the parking lot and they refused to check the cameras because they were too lazy. I work in retail aswell and this is not how you treat your guest! I hope in the future they can do better but i recommend not shopping here because they do not care about their guest. read more

This grocery store is open 24H but employee do their selves stocking during busy hour (around noon time), I can't pass thru the aisle without moving the stock and / or I have to go around to be able get to the other end of the aisle. They have about over 20 check out Register lane but they only open 3 to 5 registers, plus the self check out on a busy hour, even on a busy time where they already have a big line waiting to be check out, head cashier or management will not act or do something about it. And you will see them standing around by the service desk talking to each others. Called Corporate to report this issue hoping for the corporate or management will do something or make some improvement. read more
