Hmmmm....2 stars really?? Menards is a home improvement store located in 14 states, but unfortunately FL isn't one of them. Their sale flyers often features many products made in the USA. They're also known for their 11% rebate which comes in the form of a merchandise check credit that can be redeemed in-store only. Similar to the other big box stores, they sell more then just home improvement items. They sell mattresses, food products, pet items, etc. Over the years they've evolved to being a one stop shop. They also have a huge selection of Black Friday deals. I purchased a removable ladybug flashlight from there many many years ago and it STILL works! Their prices are pretty reasonable and during my most recent visit, I was pretty impressed with the selection of bathroom vanities. Once upon a time, my husband boycotted Menards due a very poor customer service experience with one employee. He eventually got over it after a couple months and started shopping there again. During my recent visit, I was looking for a garden spray pump in the garden section but needed help. The person I asked not only told me where it's located, but walked be to exact location so I can say that their service can be pretty good, if you ask the right person for help. Lol. this location has a customer service problem. i came in to buy a vacuum breaker repair kit. i found it and walked around before leaving the store. i found a roku stick on sale and was about to look at the product further when i heard an associate ask me if i needed assistance. i initially did not respond because i did not think he was talking to me. i glance over in the direction of the question to see an associate down the aisle standing there looking in my direction. i replied by saying "no, i'm good. thanks" and waved him off, then i turned back to look at the roku stick. i had not moved when i noticed movement to my right and notice the same associate was walking toward me. i turned my head to respond again when i watched him walk directly in front of me and stood between me and the roku stick. he did not say anything to me or acknowledge i was standing there, even though i was a foot or two from the shelf. i walked away without getting his information, felling disappointed at his treatment. i circled back to see if i can see his name tag but he was standing where i left him fiddling with something on the shelf. i immediately went to pay for my vacuum breaker repair kit and go to the customer service desk to report the associate. i am disappoint at the associate's treatment but am more disappointed at the store management for still employing him. but reading more reviews of this location, i see customer services has been an issue way before my experience. after many years of coming to this location, i doubt i will return. there are many other stores in the area that will generally leave me alone and not make me feel unwelcome. read more

I bought 61 boxes of waterproof vinyl flooring which Menards delievered to the house. 7 of the boxes were one color and 54 were another color. My contractor started laying the flooring with the most boxes. Later than day, I saw the flooring and it looked beautiful! However it was not the color I had ordered. I went to Menards and explained the problem. They were apologetic for the mistake made everything right. They came and swapped out the 7 boxes for the new color. I was so happy. Their mistake actually worked in my favor. The color I ordered would have been fine but the new color really brightens the house. A shout to Dither, the manager of the pick up department and all the people who listened to my odd story and made things right. I will be back! read more

I placed an order with Menards for delivery, outdoor furniture, two chairs and a side table which was 600.00 . The table arrived and was missing the peg on the bottom of the leg which make it wobble. I reached out to Menards online and spoke to someone who said she would reach and and have it sent to me. It's been two months and nothing. read more

I needed to move a large treadmill across town from my Mom's house. I decided to rent a pickup truck and an appliance dolly from this Menard's and they made it so easy! Went in first thing in the morning when they opened at 6 am, and MaryAnne was very helpful in explaining everything and getting me the truck. And when I came back to return the truck and dolly, Jose was great as well. The process was seamless from start to finish. And cheap as well! It cost me less than $30 to have the truck and dolly for 2-and-a-half hours. Can't beat that. I will definitely be back in the future if I need to use a truck again. Thank you, Menards! read more

We ordered a refrigerator last Tuesday & Menards ad said 1day delivery on this model- which is why we went with them over other companies. They didn't schedule anything so we called & they said Saturday- we were without a fridge & told them that- they said they'd see what they could do- Saturday came still no word- so we stopped in & asked about it- they acted like they had no idea but said they'd call the delivery guy & get it to us yet today (this was 6:09 pm) we get home & get a call- THEY CANT FIND THE DELIVERY GUY- next available delivery is Tuesday! We would be a whole week without a fridge! Now we have to rent a truck & find people to help us get it ourselves on a Sunday. Horrible customer service & no communication- not even an apology. What happened to customer service? Both the front end manager and Brian the store manager have zero people skills. Both were so rude it's a wonder they have jobs at all. It is frustrating enough when someone repeats the same exact words in response to any comment or question I ask, but to have such a nasty tone to the voice also? Unbelievable. What a joke today, no one wanted to help in building materials. No customers to explain why they are horrible today, but today's experience was bad. Wait in line to buy bricks and other items, they said I had to go to a different desk and another line. Why not have people in the material area to help on this. I recently rented the rug doctor carpet cleaner for one day, and due to circumstances out of my control I returned it ten minutes late. They charged me for two days, and I spoke to the manager, she had an attitude with me and couldn't help at all, could not forgive or override it, so I was stuck with the machine for an additional day. I won't shop here again, I'll just go to Home Depot from now on, it's 5 minutes away from my house and they also have a military veteran discount. read more

I love Menards, they have everything you could ever need! But this particular Menards is probably about as poor a Menards as it gets. I walked in with my husband so we can special order a window. We just spent 25k on kitchen cabinets and are finishing a kitchen. We were denied entry without a mask. I stated I can't wear a mask due to a medical condition. I was told I still had to wear one and they conveniently were selling them for a $1. I asked under what law am I required to wear this and I was told under the law for May 1. It's not May first and second the EO excluded people with medical conditions. I wish I could return the almost $50k worth of merch we have purchased over the last few weeks. Disgusting. I'm disgusted. We called corporate and they said it's recommended. While trying to rent the machine that blows in insulation I was told by the people that take care of the machine rental that, they could not tell me how to operate the machine . They could only provide me with the manual to operate the machine due to some type of legality , After asking them if you were standing on my side of the counter would that make any sense to you ? They called some one from building materials that was able to show me how to use the machine . Had a tricky paint project. went to lowes next to menards because the kid chose paint there. too expensive. Lowes twerp didnt want to help, so I went to menards. Vicky in the paint dept. helped me. spent an hour with me and dialed me in just right. She knows her shit. Saved me $75.00 bucks and all my paint biz goes there now. you hear me Lowes????? Do not shop at this store. We have been loyal Menards shoppers for at least 15 years. Today we stopped in on our way to the city to find stuff to help our daughter hang wall art on cement walls. While he was there he realized he forgot his readers in the car so he picked up a pair from the store to read the labels and pushed them up on his head while he shopped around. After he checked out, and bought about $80 with of supplies he was stopped by security and they brought him back in. They told him he stole readers and was arrested and had to fill out paperwork. He explained that he completely forgot he had put them on his head and would've realized it once he got to the car and would've brought them back. They didn't care one bit and continued with shoplifting charges. What a disgrace. I was waiting in the car for 45 minutes wondering what was taking so long when he finally called me from inside and explained what has happened. $200 fine for a $9 pair of readers. read more

I would love to give this store a higher review but this would be the last time I buy anything from menards. I purchase a bathroom vanity and once i picked it up it (a week later) had a hole in it. If I could give this store a lower rating I would. The few times my husband and I have been here to purchase things for our new home we've been repeatedly let down by the lack of service and knowledgeability of the employees. While they do run a good deal for 11% back on purchases through a rebate, employees are more interested in clocking out than giving customers a receipt which is required in redeeming the rebate money. Every experience here has made me want to pull my hair out! None of the employees are on the same page either, as they all say different things when asked something. We honestly just drive the extra few miles to Home Depot now as they are much more helpful, knowledgeable in their departments, and are a million times more approachable/friendly. They actually know what they're talking about! It doesn't hurt that they offer a military discount, too. Oh, and the shopping cart "huts" at Menards just seem to be the hangout for employees who are supposed to be rounding up the carts. They seem to spend way too much time here hanging out and checking their phones. It's ridiculous. Don't waste your time here - go to Home Depot in South Elgin!! Every department in this store is stocked full of incredibly knowledgable employees. For example, the guy in the trim department helped solve a problem I had covering some gaps between the wall and floor, he got down on the floor and mocked up pieces of trim to help me accomplish what I was trying to do; a real problem solver. The lady in plumbing gave useful advise on what toilet was the best value, knew what other parts I would need for install, and helped me understand the installation from her own experience. No silly "self check out", you always have a real clerk, and the lines are never long. Furthermore, the selection is excellent and they stock some other essentials to help skip a trip if your wife needs a gallon of milk while you're out for some lumber. I like the Menards brand: it's easy to find things and the quality of products is good but, the service is terrible. I think they hire unemployed zombies. Is no one here happy or like their job? Sheesh. I will continue to shop at Menards for the things I need but the management would do well to address the "enthusiasm" of the help. Forget Customer Service here, at least after they sell it to you. I bought a snow blower on their recommendation. Got it home and no go... snow blower will not move forward or rearward when running. Took the item back to the store the very next morning, "we cannot refund or exchange because you put gas in it"..."umm it's a gas engine and you have to put fuel in it to start and operate it"... "we cannot do anything because YOU put gas in it"..."may I speak to your manager"... "we cannot replace or refund it since YOU put gas in it"... each and every level of manager to the GM who totally blew me off and walked away said the same thing...they gave me a business card for a repair shop that I can use my time and money, (yes I get to pay up front and file for a reimbursement) to get this snow blower repaired.... I chose to use a REPUTABLE ???? company for a new item not to have a reconditioned unit (that I could have bought from a local outlet for 2/3's the cost) I will NEVER buy another thing from them nor recommend them to ANYONE!!! read more

Normally I prefer to go elsewhere than Menards for certain materials I need. However, during my kitchen remodeling, I did find this location to have many of things I was interested in. The customer service was a bit lacking in the beginning but I did find someone who could help me with my questions and orders eventually. I would recommend this location. read more

I really hate to give a poor review like this considering the amount of money I've spent there over the last 10 yrs, because I really did prefer Menards over other hardware stores, but that's most in part because of my location, however today will be the final time I will EVER step into this store. All my business purchases, which easily is over $5K/ mo., as well as personal purchases, will all be done at Home Depot from now on. I have also cancelled my Menards credit card due to my experience today. I would complain to the manager, but the person that was helping me claimed to be the manager on duty so that would do me absolutely no good. Because of her position there, I think her head and ego are a little swollen and her attitude definitely reflected that. She shouldn't be in customer service. Very rude, ignorant, and doesn't know how to put 2 and 2 together.
