I needed a bathroom and this Target provided early in the morning (they open at 8am)!! They also have a huge selection of all the items you could need. The employees I encountered were friendly. Ok folks it's a sad day that I can officially say I've witnessed a decline in the quality of service and care provided at this Target location. I've lived in the area for almost 20 years and have been a customer at this particular target for almost that entire time. -- long enough to have been a customer at the Baby R Us 2 doors down. In all fairness I should have reviewed during the high time when the store's service was better right? Well nevertheless I'm impelled to do so now. I am also particularly disappointed that Target has decided to eliminate DEI programs and services - which interestingly- as successor to former Affirmative Action programs- leave white women as the biggest beneficiaries to these policies. So I recently posted about Meijer not taking back the cans for beverages that they sell. I know it's only a dime per can but it adds up! Since Meijer and target are right next-door to each other I decided to call target. I had never seen bottle return there but I thought what harm would it be to call. Customer service was so friendly and nice. They said bring up the cans to the customer service desk and we can count them out and they would reimburse me. They did say there's a $25 limit but I didn't have that many. I was so appreciative that they took back my San Pellegrino cans that I will buy all of my San Pellegrino from them from now on. Who doesn't love Target?!? But they have gotta do better on staffing!!! I was there recently and had to pickup stuff for another family member due to an illness. Now my cart is full,stuff even on the lower rack. There was 1 register open but she was closing. ( I get it, she has to leave , not her fault) a supervisor should have replaced her or opened another register. Only self checkout was open, with 10 or more in line waiting. Folks walking back and forth from the Service desk without noticing the situation at hand. I was FURIOUS!!!! Target never used to be this bad. I calmed myself and waited my turn at self checkout, fussing under my breath the entire time. It took me nearly 10 minutes to scan and bag all that crap!!! Staffing is a major issue at alot of retail stores since the pandemic, I get it. But if I wanted to SLUM-IT I would have went to Walmart..... Lol read more

Target is clearly having a moment. Still, I don't think I match the core demographic of those who have recently been showering this national chain with praise and devotion. So, what gives with the five stars? Well, after decades of being a Target shopper, and after several months of using the Target app (including a bunch of online purchases delivered to my home), I finally decided to try a drive-up pick up from the "East Ann Arbor" location on the western edge of Ypsilanti. Wow! In the age of our current global pandemic, I've been doing more and more contactless pickups, and this was the absolute best. Period. I didn't have to sign up for a pre-scheduled time slot. About four hours after completing the online purchase I received an email that I could come and get my goods whenever it was convenient. I clicked a button on the app when I was on my way to the store. Upon arrival, I pulled into one of the contactless pickup spaces. Checking back into the app, I was presented a code to show "through the window" to the Target clerk who showed up in just minutes after my arrival. Was everything perfect? Actually, no. One of the cans of tomatoes I received was severely dented. But no worries. I was sent a follow up email asking how everything went, and with a few short clicks on the app, those tomatoes were refunded. No hassles. No hairy eyeballs. No return trip to the store! Wow! Add this convenience to the already excellent home shipping options, and now I am just about entirely free from that large online retailer which everyone loves to hate, but hasn't been able to stop using. read more

Look if I ask for price check, it's because YOU GUYS DIDNT PUT A PRICE IN THE ITEM, NOR IS THERE A PRICE ON ANY SHELF, NOR IS THERE A SCANNING MACHINE ANYWHERE IN SIGHT- so now its YOUR TURN to DO YOUR JOB young white guy with pony tail, gray jeans n red top giving me attitude and telling me next time to use the scanners "that are all I've over the store" as he points down the main aisle with NOT ONE scanner anywhere but in his imagination....which I pointed out because I live in reality land, not make stuff up as you go world. I just don't understand unprovoked rudeness and I had not one but TWO workers be a-holes - cashier who suddenly and rudely says IM CLOSED as if I'm at fault for wanting to give her and this crappy store some money . Michigan has some truly unhappy people - more than other anyplace I visit. On the other hand, there were THREE young guys all going out of their way to be very sweet- the greeter, the cart guy and some other random guy. Holy hell though, I get enough grief at my work without coming to sh!thole Target for more abuse. And it's always fun to then put on a cashiers apron and take on THAT job also after work at the "Self Serve " aisle which should be called the "Serving Target Profits at with my Labor" station. This store is clean, well merchandised, brightly lit and spacious. They also had a prominent display of designer collaboration summer dresses right up front that I didn't see at my local store. The stock was plentiful and I even found a cute Pikachu t shirt that I also didn't see at my local store. My only detractor was that there was one cashier open and a huge line. Another cashier finally came to relieve the associate and the line got moving after a good twenty minutes. read more

Great store and love just wandering to check out new items or sales. Today I was shopping for school supplies, pool noodles, replacing some much used household items, and looking at the swimsuits selection for my upcoming vacation(they are currently 30% off). I found a cute roomy crossbody purse on clearance. For my family, we have large food bills with 3 tween/adult boys so saving money is a good thing. Todays find was full size box of rice krispies cereal at 1.48 a box because they were red, and blue. read more

After moving to the A2 area from Dearborn, it was a pleasant surprise to come to this Target. They have a very clean store with a much better selection of products compared to the stores in Dearborn. However, of course, during COVID this place has been terrible. I go in there for 10 things and come out with two. I get it, I get it... everyone is struggling... but I sure do hope that one day I can get my basic home needs products from this Target. Fingers are double-crossed. read more

Probably my favorite Target in the area. It's significantly further from my house than the one in Ann Arbor but I still make the trek out there whenever I want to look for home decor, clothes, etc since they have a significantly better selection than the smaller store on Waters'. Staff is helpful but not exactly warm. I've had a few returns, issues with products, etc and while I've never wanted to run out of their pulling my hair out I also never leave with warm fuzzies. I do also really like their "buy it online, pick it up in the store" option, especially when I'm looking for a particular item and don't want to drive around town looking for it. I also LOVE the Cartwheel app. You can often find me in the aisles scanning every item in my cart to make sure I'm not missing a coupon on something. Grocery section is sizable and everything I've purchased there has been fresh and cheaper than even Kroger. In general it's a really nice Target location. read more

Though this is my preferred area Target, I was really disappointed in the clerk lying to me and refusing my return. The woman, Jessica I believe was her name told me that Target stopped taking makeup returns as of January 1, 2023. This is an absolute lie and she should be ashamed of herself. I let it go, because I'd already been waiting in line for quite some time and I decided not to hold the line up and cause a ruckus over $20. The person working the dressing room on april 20 around 5:00 pm severely lacked good customer service skills. while it is understandable that everyone has off days, it is so unfair to spread this energy to every person that interacts with you. this person would aggressively tell people that approached the dressing rooms that all of them were full. every person that entered would say thank you, only with an eye roll or glare in return. nothing was done directly to me however just extremely rude in general to my friends and other customers. dissuades me to come back and try things on if that person is there unfortunately. b read more

*****Headline: No Toilet Paper in Bathrooms!***** The last time I was there I had a hard time as things were not individually priced and the shelf prices were missing. I complained. Got a gift card and a bit insulted (that might be just me.) Today I went there, couldn't find prices on things and no price labels on shelves. (Yes, they have the pricing kiosk I can go find...not good enough in my book.) Then to top things off there was no toilet paper in the bathroom! I will report back in ten years which will probably be the next time I step foot in a Target. That said, I think it is the local management (or one particular manager I have had to deal with on more than one occasion) that may be the problem. read more

For some reason it had been months since my last Carpenter Road Target visit. When I stepped inside, I saw the NEW GROCERY SECTION. Awesome! Where's my camera? I had to wait a while to return for photos. I think this new grocery section would really appeal to someone who wanted to fix a quick dinner after a day of shopping. Why not make it easy on yourself after you haul home those giant packages of toilet paper? Is it just me, or is the staff here a little bit more attentive than at the Waters Road location? I was just making my way toward the heart of the store when a nice man asked if I knew where everything was. I ran my idea by him. He gave me a few suggestions where to look. I'm so glad he asked! Didn't see any sign of produce or a refrigerated section last night when I went... but this is still an okay Target. I ended up walking around the entire store looking for a box fan but couldn't find one... although there was an attractive Maize 'n Blue circular fan for $15.99. If I weren't such a cheapskate, I would have gotten it. :P Possible they were just out of stock, since it has been a hot summer. But I still had to go next door to Meijer to get a box fan (and a few limes). read more

Excellently in stock. Everywhere you go in this Target is always nicely in place as well. I always go here because it's just simply a great shopping experience even with COIVD Guidelines in place like always having hand sanitizer (The Gel Kind!:)) and masks too! I have met so many great employees that work here and I they always do a fantastic job at always helping whether you're paying in cash or having issues at self checkout. I used to love this location when Beth worked at the customer service desk and would sometimes run a register. She's been gone for a couple of years now and service has really gone downhill. I typically shop in the morning and NO registers are open and there is a wait at self check. Other than not being harassed to open a Red Card, I am not a fan of self check. There are a couple of stockers that tell stories to each other loudly across aisles, swear words and all. Not really appropriate when you're out where customers are. read more

Hooray for Target! Despite the fact that Target is a vortex, from which I consistently emerge HOURS later with things I didn't intend to buy nor do I need, I love this location. Luckily for me, and unluckily for my bank account, it's conveniently located just up the street from my house. This Target features the perfect trifecta: it is always clean, well-stocked and the goods are easily accessible. This makes for a pleasant and often extended shopping experience. The end caps alway feature some must-have product that conveniently ends up in my cart (drat, foiled again!). Target is making a killing. I go in for ink pens and come out having spent $100 on additional office supplies and I know I'm not the only one. I really like the grocery area. It makes for a great one-stop shopping experience. They have a good selection of national brands, but I also like many of the products under their private line. The customer service I've received at this location has been a mixed bag. Those at the front end have been great. The cashiers and customer service personnel have been especially helpful and easy to work with when I've returned items. Those working the floor, not so much. There have been instances in which it was pretty difficult to find someone to assist me and when I finally did, the employee seemed less than excited to help. In one particular case, I was looking for something and the guy just pointed in the general direction of the aisle. Ummm, sure...okay. Overall, I really like this store and have been very happy with the offerings and service received. read more

Overall, the shopping experience is pretty relaxing during Covid 19. Some items are still missing such as alcohol based sanitizing wipes. I am disappointed today that staff did not confront 2 teenagers for not wearing masks though it was available free for guests. The cashier just warned them to wear masks the next time! This Target is the best by far. Its clean, well stocked, has cute clothes, good food selection, lots of discounts. Their dollar/ $3 dollar section always rotates really cute stuff. They price match, open early, close late, no hassel returns, double up coupons on their discounts and manufacturer discounts. What's not to love? Even their Starbucks is great. It is actually better than the brick and mortar one across the street. Skip the Ann Arbor Target, and Canton for that matter, the Ypsi one is the best. read more

This is like, 90's target, like they haven't changed the signage in 25 years. It was pretty trippy when I first went in. I LOVE Target. LOVE LOVE LOVE. But I tend to avoid going to this one if I have to. It's a Target, but it seems like they just don't try as hard at this one vs. the one on Waters Rd. in Ann Arbor. The employees here tend to be a little surlier, and the aisles tend to be a little messier and a little more understocked. But it's still a Target, and it works in a pinch. read more

Excellent customer service!! I got a coupon in mail from Target so I went into the store to redeem it. Turned out the poster frame I got as part of my purchase was a lot more expensive in the store than online, for some reason ($23.99 instead of $7.99 like it was shown online). I went into the store and asked customer service to see whether they could adjust the price. I thought I would have to return the frame and got a discounted refund since a portion of the coupon value was applied to the frame. However, the staff (Darcus, if I remembered his name correctly) who helped me just gave me a refund on the price difference, so I could keep the frame and also got a full refund of the price difference. This Target is built along the design of the Taylor store. I stopped by after an interview because I needed to get some staples. Since it was the same layout, I had no problem moving around. I was curious to see what was left of Christmas clearance and was delighted to see that the back of the store all was well-organized and easy to shop. I got two great wreaths for 70% off and didn't have to pick thru broken ornaments and garbage! read more

Target is a great place to walk in and shop. However - DO NOT register there for your Baby Shower. Both myself and a good pal have had major issues with their registry. Luckily for me, I was also registered at Babies r Us. My pal - she was only registered at Target and no one could access her account online, nor in the store. It was very upsetting, she called and called and called for weeks in advance with NO help from Target. Her shower was wonderful, but come on Target!! This Target is significantly better than the Ann Arbor Target on Waters Road. It is larger, the aisles are less cramped (especially int he clothing section), they tend to have more items make it to deeper clearance discount levels, in some areas like home they have a better selection, the lighting is nicer, and it is easier to get in and out of the parking lot. From central campus at U-M, it is only 3 minutes longer by car to get to this location, instead of the official Ann Arbor location. If you're going on a Target run I highly recommend spending the extra three minutes. Speaking to the store itself, Target's grocery section here is top-notch. If you always buy store brand when possible, like me, you may be surprised to hear that I cost compared them and on nearly every item Target was cheaper than Kroger or Meijer. The clothing also always appears to be on trend. The seasonal undergarments are always fun. And there is a surprising amount of rotating items you wouldn't necessarily think about purchasing at the target. The other day when it hit 85 degrees and I needed an air conditioner Home Depot, Lowes, and Sears were both out of stock of the cheap 5000 BTU acs. Target still had plenty. Not only that, it was cheaper than the other stores by a significant amount. Finally, if you do come here regularly I recommend getting a Red Card. You don't need to get the credit one. You can simply give them your bank information and get a debit card with no hassle (and no credit score worries). By doing this you'll save 5% on every purchase. Additionally, target brand food and pharmacy items are almost always discounted via coupon on the "Cartwheel" phone app. Be sure to download the app and scan your items before you check-out to save the most money. read more

I know, it's just Target. BUT I LOVE TARGET. My love for Target runs really deep. It's my one-stop shop. I can get all of the crap we need for the house (laundry soap, toilet paper, shampoo, etc) AND shop to my little heart's desire on everything and anything I can think of. Shoes, purses, clothes, books, decor, etc. I always go in to pick up one thing and come out $200 later. This particular Target is just OK as far as quality goes. The shelves aren't always restocked and sometimes prices are off. I have been there at times where you cannot find someone to help you to save your life. But hey, it's still WAY better than Meijer. And I love how they have some food. I almost always think of one or two things I need to pick up for the pantry while I am there.. milk, bread, pepsi, etc. TARGET ROCKS! read more

A Target is a Target...right? Not if it is crazy backwards Target. The great thing about almost every Target store is that you can walk in to it and know where to find everything, not here. It takes a bit of mental gymnastics to find the shampoo (extra difficulty points if you are sleep deprived) But it is still a Target where you can get what you need quickly, I am more apt to run into target than meijers next door, because the target always has enough checkouts open, and no crazy lines. read more

I normally love Target and shop at Target stores a lot for household items (cleaning supplies, office storage and school-type supplies). This Target was definitely one of my least favorites. It never really had any great clearance type offers on supplies or clothing like many of the other Targets. Plus the store was not easy to get to for me. It's gotten better though and it is definitely nice to have a grocery area. It feels a lot more like most of the other Targets I go to. Other than that it was still a toss up between three and four stars as i think customer service is just k here (but then again there are only a few Target stores I've been to that have good customer service). I pre ordered passport photos online and selected this location. Once I arrived they said the machine was down and I had to go to a different target. They said their machine was down for over a week. I can't understand why the site would allow us to choose a location that couldn't complete my order. When I asked the service rep to call the other location before I made the trip, she seemed annoyed. The other locations are very far from my residence. She said she couldn't confirm with them because the other target location kept hanging up on her. Doesn't exactly create build confidence that they would be able to help me anywhere. Do NOT rely on their Kodak pre print services online. They do not tell you which stores can help and you can end up wasting your time. read more

A typical Target, which shines with its service, but struggles with improper labeling. I visited this location while shopping to make a welcome basket for my new roommate, and was excited about the various Fall deals. I purchased a number of candles, soaps, and misc. items, which appeared to be marked down. When checking out however, I learned from the kind checkout attendant that the deal-labels had been mis-arranged, and that a number of my items were at full retail price. Since I was pressed for time I ended up eating the difference, but I appreciated her candor. Overall, I'd say this store has positive service, but needs to work harder on signage placement. read more
