I ordered the chicken fried chicken that includes a house salad. When I didnt receive it, I asked the server said "I didnt think you wanted it." I said "If it comes w/the meal then YES I want it." She walked off with attitude. The mash potatoes that came with the meal looked brown and watery. When I asked what was it she said, "It's just a LOT butter." I looked at her confused, she huffed and walked away while I was still looking at her. I wanted "mashed" potatoes not butter potatoes. My fiance' order biscuits n gravy. He said "It tasted like Dollar Store gravy in a can." Lol Needless to say he tried to eat it but could only get 1/3 of it down. Then we overheard the diners behind us complaining about the pancake taste and the fact they they were the size of old-school LP albums and WHO could eat that much bread. Lol. After trying to eat this "food"...we just couldn't, Then waited at the table for 15 minutes for a To-Go box for my chicken fried (because that was the only thing really edible) we watched the servers play on their cell phones, not paying attention to customers. My fiance had to get up, interrupt their conversation and ask for box. So me being petty, when we paid I didn't leave a tip and if the server had asked why, I would've replied, "Because I didn't think you wanted one!" And where is the other "tomboyish" looking server that used to work there? She was funny, hospitable and knew how run that place! The crew we dealt with today... Absolutely unacceptable. * Dine at your own risk. ;)

The reason it missed the 5-star mark with me was our waitress was slow to do everything. Even with taking our drink order. Then our food order. The worst was waiting for my final bill. And then she forgot our takeout box for my youngest. I don't know why she didn't have a greater sense of responsiveness with our party of 3, but it was like this the entire duration of our meal on July 25, 2026. It was super frustrating! The other reason I knocked off a star off was because the towel dispenser was depleted in the lone restroom. I had to flag down an employee with drenched hands. THE PROS I called about 20 minutes ahead of time to reserve a table because I knew this brassiere was on the small side. The lady on the phone was courteous and professional. If you have a hot date, I highly recommend reservations particularly in the evening. This seems like that sort of place. When we arrived, I found free street parking a short walk away. We were promptly greeted and seated. To enter the restaurant, you must go inside the Frost Bank tower's lobby, but to exit there is a door just beyond the bar. This place has beautiful, eclectic decor. The bar area was somewhat rounded and has an easygoing, but classy feel to it. THE FOOD The ambiance is what made this a great mother/daughters brunch date. The food sets it apart from the majority of restaurants in this oil industry town. The have East Coast-sourced oysters on the menu! These are far superior to their West Coast counterparts. I would have opted for these for our app if it weren't for my minions, I mean children. Pigs in a Blanket ($15.00) - yet another appetizer my daughters pigged out on that I didn't get to try. And they said they weren't that hungry! Lies all lies. They looked divine with nicely cooked juicy sausage and everything seasoning on the pastries. Avo Toast ($11.50) - my newly-turned teen daughter and I both had our own. I opted for eggs over easy which were cooked nicely. She oddly chose scrambled eggs for her, but she ate pretty much all of it. Smashed Burger ($17) - my youngest had this and said it was excellent. Nice touch with an American flag planted into the top bun. For the umpteenth time she did not share a fry with me. It is what it is. Mocha latte ($5.00) - my youngest's birthday which I will be missing since she'll be visiting her father is coming up so this was a treat for her. I tried it. Quite good after being thoroughly stirred. 1988 Martini ($18) - pricey but oh so good. The olives stuffed with bleu cheese were not bad. I had to try it even though the thought of bleu cheese kind of turned me off. Lol. Will I return? Of course because I have faith it will be 5 stars next time. Look at the other raving reviews! From the start, the service set the tone. My server had that perfect balance--attentive, helpful, and genuinely engaged without hovering. It made the evening feel relaxed and easy. I started with the Parmesan fries because, honestly, who skips Parmesan fries when they're on the menu? They were crisp, flavorful, and just indulgent enough to feel like the right decision. For the entrée, I ordered the pan-seared salmon, and it did not disappoint. It was cooked to perfection, and the seasoning complemented the fish beautifully. The risotto was creamy and well-prepared, and the green beans had that fresh, crisp texture that tied everything together. The atmosphere added to the experience. Being set inside a beautifully restored historic property gave the place character. It felt like a spot where locals gathered--there was a familiarity in the room that made it feel like the place to see and be seen. And while it didn't hurt to walk in alongside the head of the local hospital (pure coincidence, and no, I wasn't a patient), the restaurant stood on its own merit. If you're driving through Big Spring or staying the night, Settles Grill was well worth the stop. It's a place where you don't "settle" at all--you simply have a very good meal in a setting that feels both welcoming and established.

I called as soon as they opened this morning and they helped me to get a reservation for 11:15AM and that was just the beginning of our perfect service experience from start to finish! I am obsessed with all things "theme" and this Instagram-worthy spot has everything done right without crossing into cheesy territory or using decorations that look cheap or off. It reminded me of places that I would wait MONTHS to get into in some of the biggest cities in the USA! And that's not where the 5 star comparison stops! The food was AMAZING! We started with the funnel cake fries app for the table. My husband and I got the Texas Pecan French Vanilla drip coffee (which was epic and I'm a major coffee snob!) and the kids were THRILLED with so many fun nonalcoholic options and tried a fun new drink! The kids both fell in love with sweet crepes and the husband had a savory brisket crepe. I did the avocado toast on fresh sourdough toast with the eggs and bacon on the side (small mouth!) with potatoes and I never imagined I could still be craving something so simple yet so perfectly made and gourmet! It was the first time our whole family was SILENT because we were all eating! It was worth every penny and will be a favorite now and forever in the future!

The place has ample seating and is clean and fresh inside. I was drawn to Jimmy's by their extensive menu. It was super easy for my dad and I to both find exactly what we wanted to eat for breakfast. I had avocado toast with an egg over easy and bacon. The egg was perfectly cooked. The bacon could've been cooked a tad bit crispier for my liking. My dad ordered the Classic Combo and added a side of grits. He is pretty particular about his breakfast, particularly the balance of the value vs the taste, quality and quantity (as one should be) and he raved about his meal and whole Jimmy's Egg experience, especially their grits and sausage. He had so much food and we talked about what he would and wouldn't get next time to better fit his appetite and budget. The coffee was also piping hot and perfect with free refills. Our server, Gwen was exceptional and had the prettiest purple pen, notepad and accessories. Thank you Gwen and the rest of the Jimmy's Egg staff for the wonderful food and service you provided me and my dad! He'll be back and I will be back whenever Im in town.
