Food is okay. Kind of remind of school cafeteria food back then, even the plates look the same like my school cafeteria plate. Food comes out really fast as if they already made it. My chicken fried steak is kind of burnt so it tasted dry; gravy is too liquidity..I'd prefer thicker and creamer gravy $15/plate..too pricey for me...other than that, service is good! read more

First time in a good while. A friend and I ate breakfast early one Saturday morning. I ordered hash, grits, and well done scrambled eggs with a side of French toast. My friend ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, a biscuit with gravy, with a side of toast. We both ordered coffee. Ah, the service you're wondering, well it was very good. Our waitress was promp, attentive, and very friendly. She made the place like home. The food was promptly served hot, and was just as we ordered too! The servings were plentiful. I'm so glad I stopped here. The parking lot was packed with mainly pickups that were backed in. That was my first and only clue I needed to know this place is good and I wasn't let down!!! Walk in and seat yourself. Even though the parking lot was full there were plenty of tables available. The waitstaff was very nice and attentive and the patrons all seemed right at home. Awesome breakfast atmosphere. Old school vibe with amazing food. I had basic breakfast with bacon, eggs, sausage, hash browns and a biscuit & gravy. Would absolutely recommend to anyone!!! What a great place for breakfast! A busy place, but don't let the amount of trucks fool you, it's much bigger inside than it looks. It's also, like many locals favorites, a gathering place.. so many of the people are with others, tables get pushed together and the chatter begins. I walked in, found a seat quickly and within a few seconds I had a menu in my hand and a hot cup of coffee on the table.. They have daily specials on a board.. so that's cool!! But.. as I was reviewing the standard menu.. TADA!! Corned Beef Hash!!! BINGO!!!! I also got the French Toast!! Everything came out quickly and was excellent!! I love me some corned beef hash.. so as a first time customer, you have definitely impressed me!! The waitress was also Top Notch!! She came by constantly throughout my meal to top off my coffee!! Always Hot Always Fresh!! This would be a great place to take out of town visitors to start the day off with a WOW! Moment! So, if you are looking for a place where the locals eat, here it is. You can listen to 9 different oilfield stories going on at the same time. Not far from downtown Midland, but not near any of the other restaurants. Lots of seating - big place. Small menu with daily specials. It's all homemade, or that's the way it tasted. Don't come here if you're on a healthy eating plan, only found one thing, the grilled fish n veggies - and not too sure it was healthy. Fish was very good, little light on the veggies - onions n tomatoes. Had a little salad with a side n roll. If you like these type of diners or cafes, you need to give a try. If you are a little more high maintenance, you should pass, as if you want a Coke, then you need to get it out of the cooler and they'll bring you a glass of ice. I give it a 4/5. But others will probably grade down. read more

Being an avid fan of the TV show "Heroes," it was mandatory for me to find a greasy spoon diner in Midland, TX when I realized I'd be passing through. The atmosphere here is pure Texas - complete with flanel-clad, cowboy hat-wearing patrons stopping by to get their fix of home style cooking. The fare is typical diner food, burgers and fries, and the taste was great. The service was exceptional, and the nice waitress even had the cooks whip me up something that wasn't on the menu (I had a hankering for a Turkey Melt) which was delicious. The fries tasted like they were fried in cottonseed oil, for that maximum potato taste, which I don't really care for but recognize that folks will appreciate. The tap water was bad, but I can't fault them for the city's supply. All in all, it was an enjoyable meal. Score one for Midland, score one for my belly! I recommend stopping by this quaint little hole-in-the-wall I'd you're ever in town. read more

In town for a funeral we met some friends for lunch. It was busy but the service was quick. The grilled cheese and ham was delicious. I was expecting thin sandwich meat ham but it was nice thick slabs of real ham. My friend had the chicken fried steak and said it was very good. We were able to sit and chat for over an hour with free refills of iced tea. read more

This is a restaurant that I would not stop at had I not yelpped it. From the out side it is old and run down, however the literally 50 cars in the parking lot might entice over to stop. The food is the best thing about the restaurant. The server was carry and rolled her eyes at us (maybe because we are not Texans) at several occasions. However, she didn't get anything wrong and asked us several times if we needed anything else. So why 4 stars. Because the owner should try to stay on top of things. The food was great but try to at least have chairs that are covered. This place would be closed if the employees had the same work ethic as the owner, they clearly make money put some back into your business. read more

Consistently the best breakfast in the entire midessa region. This place is an old school diner that manages to hit all the notes just right. Breakfast is their forte and they close early so that's what I stick to. But oh man WHAT a breakfast. This place always has perfectly cooked eggs, and if you make it early enough to get their hash browns and biscuits and gravy then your in for a true Texan treat. However if you are too late for the biscuits and gravy you can sub in a pancake. Now this isn't any normal pancake, it's a huge fluffy tasty pancake, so it's kinda a win/win. I found the best thing on their menu a while back so I always just get that. Hell its even in their name, the grub supplier. It's extremely well priced for how much food you get and if your hungry in the mornings like me then you can't go wrong with it. This is of course an understatement as this giant plate of food is the most delicious extraordinary fantastic and amazing breakfast mouth experience ever. I try to go at least once a week to get my fix, but if your someone who has the opportunity to eat here every day then I genuinely envy you because that's a better way than most of my days start. read more

Pancakes are magical. I don't know why or how they are so superior to any other pancake I've eaten but all I know is that pancakes have been ruined for me forever because nothing could ever compete with the wonderfulness that are Main Street's pancakes. Besides that, this restaurant is a taste of old school Midland. The servers treat you like you're a regular even if it's your first time. The general atmosphere is home-y and warm even when it's super busy. I don't live in Midland anymore, and I really miss it. This place is the only hole-in-the-wall diner that I would really recommend in Midland. And I mean, the rest of Midland seems to agree because there's never really a time when I've driven by and the parking lot isn't totally full. read more

Pretty sure their mayo is lite mayo, which is gross. It's also used in their ranch-which made IT gross. I have a club sandwich and it was undesirable. & I didn't eat even a fourth of it. Also, the ketchup is a weird brand and also tasted weird. Dessert was very good-carrot cake. The furniture inside needs mega attention.
