While the location is beautiful and the staff were wonderful, this isn't our favourite winery in the province. We did a tasting which was awkwardly presented in shot glasses which we found quite tacky. Nothing in the tasting really stood out and we didn't end up buying a bottle of anything because the tastings are set. You can't really choose off the menu because not everything is available to try. We came for the annual Christmas in Petite, so it was quite busy and many wines weren't available which was a bummer. It would have been nice to select our own options to sample as there is a cost, so not sure we'll make the trip down from the Valley unless it's another annual event. The terrace is really lovely but the furniture could use some updating. Some cute bistro sets would be nice instead of overly bulky chairs and benches that are tough to move. Service was great and friendly so no complaints there. Overall, still worth visiting for location and the scenery, but as wine drinkers, this is pretty low on our list of faves simply because there wasn't much to try that we were interested in.

The grapes are all from the local area vineyards. Pretty nice product for a young wine making region. Also they make some very nice ciders, both dry, sweet and fruit added styles. So on your next visit, stop in, and on weekends they have a local food cart using local beef, pork and have vegan offering too! The food is great also! Enjoy your visit!

The Canadian Maritimes: Quintessential White Point…read more As owners of ten timeshare weeks, the university's academic schedule permits numerous opportunities during the calendar year for adventure and exploring. We have visited the Maritime Provinces in Canada on several occasions. Our usual motor route is Ohio to Ontario and then time is allotted to visit London, Waterloo, Toronto, Kingston, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec, and the Maritime Provinces: New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Nova Scotia. For this holiday, we opted to fly into Halifax, Nova Scotia for a ten-day visit to the Maritimes. We extended the week's visit to White Point Vacation Club with overnight lodgings in Amherst, Nova Scotia, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and New Glasgow, Nova Scotia prior to our week at White Point Vacation Club in southern Nova Scotia. We returned to our Ohio home for one night, and immediately flew to our Marriott Ocean Pointe resort in Palm Beach. In eighteen days we experienced the beaches of the Maritimes and the Palm Beaches. The contact information is White Point Beach Resort (#R638), 75 White Point Road #2 Queens County, NS, B0T 1G0, Canada, 866.869.2585 or 800.565.5068. The RCI photos do not accurately display the condos, but http://www.redweek.com/resort/P5064-white-point-vacation-club does provide several accurate interior and exterior photos of White Point Vacation Club. My initial reaction to the photos was that these condos are "mobile home units" similar to ones that we had visited in Napa Valley. The Napa Valley units were much too small for two adults. However, the White Point Beach Resort condos are actually freestanding modern spacious wooden homes. Each condo is located on nearly an acre of ground. White Point Vacation Club provides seclusion and privacy. White Point Beach Resort condos are very large accommodations; offer a full kitchen, all cooking utensils, two spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, a small dining area, a large family room with a wood burning fireplace, a huge wood deck with furniture, and a gas grill. White Point Vacation Club is a unique facility. Beware of the large bunnies that have been a White Point tradition for decades. The condo units are nestled in a forest setting similar to cabins in a state or national park. White Point Beach Resort resembles an "older" Michigan or New England resort. "Older" may connote romance and ambience. Some readers may recall the secluded lodge in the 1987 film Dirty Dancing. The storyline called for a setting (Kellerman's Resort) in the Catskills, but the actual Dirty Dancing lodge is in Virginia (Mountain Lake Resort in Pembroke, Virginia.) White Point Beach Resort was constructed in 1928 as a private hunting and fishing lodge. White Point Beach Resort initially consisted of a few cabins on the beach, an eight-room main lodge, and a dining room. These buildings remain and are functional today. Expansion has been gradual and continuous through the years. All the original buildings were of split log construction. Modern construction coexists with nearly 75-year-old structures. White Point Beach Resort is Atlantic Canada's very popular year-round, seaside beach vacation destination. The resort features a half mile white sand beach, indoor and outdoor pools, lake, golf, tennis, trails, surfing, recreation programs, a spa, and dining room showcasing Nova Scotia cuisine. White Point Beach Resort is in very high demand with the residents of Halifax who are only ninety minutes north. White Point Beach Resort is also a destination for many Canadians and U.S. citizens. White Point Vacation Club is a timeshare that is an integral part of White Point Beach Resort. One visitor noted, "You won't be disappointed with the world-renowned Maritime hospitality. People are down to earth and not cosmopolitan as Nova Scotia mostly has small towns and villages." We have frequently experienced this hospitality in the Maritimes. White Point Vacation Club is s 95 miles southwest of Halifax on Route 103. Take Exit 20A, at the intersection of the highway connector and Route 3, turn right (West) on to Route 3 and follow Route 3 (White Point Road) to White Point Beach Resort. Liverpool is the nearest town where chain grocery stores and other small stores and restaurants are located. Liverpool is about ten minutes north of White Point Beach Resort. It seems essential to arrive at White Point Beach Resort during the daylight hours. The driver must be careful of children and bunnies when entering the White Point Beach Resort property. Check-in for the White Point Vacation Club is at the main White Point Beach Resort lodge. The check in process is efficient and without the nuisance of a timeshare sales staff. The White Point Vacation Club is in a forest beyond a small lake, and the drive involves several alternative dirt roads. The approach is very straightforward in daylight but may be confusing after dark.

We were warmly welcomed and shown up to our room after a tour of the common areas. The sitting room on the main floor is just lovely and had many books for browsing with a cup of evening tea. Our room was small but comfortable and the canopy bed provided some "wow" factor. The original fireplace, tiled floor and decor were nice unexpected touches. The breakfast room was huge with a small pub area, and offered private restaurant style table seating (which is nice for those who aren't morning people and wanting to make new best friends at 8am with a table full of talkative strangers). The big windows let in the light and the view. We were offered the choice of made to order hot breakfasts (french toast, or eggs & bacon) and there was a long table set out with continental offerings that we were able to help ourselves to as well. Delicious!

Let me tell you, planning an international vacation for about 60 people is not easy. Judy, the owner at the Boscawen, made the process so much better. She was so stellar. Gave us amazing recommendations for other local vendors, like kayaking, tours, food, catering, etc. And they were all perfect! Judy and John, her husband, were the most gracious hosts. Basically, anything we needed, they provided without hesitation. Judy and I even planned a surprise event for everyone and it went off without a hitch! Now onto the lodging, my hubby and I stayed in room 305 and it was everything we could ever want! For all of the rooms, which I got to take a gander at because we had rented out the entire place, they were so precious. The website truly does not do the Boscawen Inn justice. Everything is immaculate, clean, and every detail was perfection. Honestly, I can't wait until we get to go back. Thank you Judy and John!!!!

The restaurant was very good -a great beer selection and our burger and fish n chips were tasty and fairly priced. Our waitress was awesome! The place had four customers. We sat down and the waitress came over and took our drink order which was a tequila cocktail and a Peroni, both on the menu but the waitress came back saying she had neither the Peroni nor Tequila. Advice 1, get some Tequila or you're not a real bar/restaurant. The menu is pretty pretentious. They charge 35 dollars for a 6oz rib steak... that's barely even a real steak. I stared at the menu for a long time and finally after reading it ten times we settled on the cheesy bread thing, and mussels to start, the spaghetti and single meatball a gin replacement to the tequila and a Keith's. The cheesy bread thing was covered in tomatoes and they leaked cold juice into the bread and made it a cold juicy wet diaper. The Mussels were like whoever made them didn't really give a damn. There is so much you can do with Mussels, do a yummy sauce with a nice splash of Tidal Bay. Not here. I've seen a lunch truck do a better plate of mussels. The spaghetti really stole the show though. They claim House Made Pasta and a fresh giant meatball, the only giant meatball was me for ordering this mess. The pasta I'm almost sure was over cooked catelli. The sauce was either from a jar or tasted exactly like it was. Finally, the showstopper was the meatball. Bland with zero taste and not a salt shaker in sight. Like a champ I tried, I really tried to eat this bowl of Italian tragedy but the meatball was also burnt solid like a round disc at the bottom. I put it in my mouth and as I spit it back out onto a plate I realized simultaneously that it was unseasoned, overcooked, burnt, frozen then thawed out and probably microwaved. I know this because it was a texture of used to be burnt but now it's just semi solid wet almost crunchy and tasted like cat food (don't ask how I know what cat food tastes like, or a wet cold diaper for that matter, it was a long time ago). As I said I spit what was left out. I looked over at my Fiancé and saw her having a similar experience. The server came back asking how everything was tasting and I told her I spit out the meatball pointing at the remainder on the plate. She just took it away. We finished up our drinks we didn't want and then asked for the check. It arrived with the spaghetti still on it of course, no sense comping it and salvaging a possible second visit or the full tip. I paid a 10% on it but I should have gone down to 5% or less, and then we got up out of there. My Fiancé mentioned we should have just gotten McDonalds fries instead of paying 80 dollars for this trip to yuck town. So if you read down this far, you are either a masochist who still plans on a first hand experience or you are the owner. If the former, just go somewhere else, if you are the latter you are going to just be in denial which is sad because Fall River could desperately use a good restaurant and we were both saddened that this one isn't going to be it. Advice 2 Put a burger on the menu, your pretentious levels are way too high, and back again to Advice 1 Stock your bar it doesn't really spoil easy.
