It was a great experience touring the brewery, learning more about the history of this p'ace, listening to cheerful music and of course trying out some their beers. I strongly recommend buying tickets in advance as they have limited capacity and the get sold out, specially during the weekend and holidays. There's a bit of a wait time at the entrance, so the crew gathers everyone and give introductions. Then exploring different rooms and walking to cellars and going through how things are done. You get to taste 2 of their beers while enjoying the music. At the end of the tour, you can buy some swaggers or beer from their shop.

Service was outstanding. The bartender was incredibly friendly and helpful. The beers were very good. The space was very cool. Tours are pricey. There are better places nearby to grab a beer. Largely caters to the tourist trade.

Make sure you pre-buy as most tours were sold out . Lots of history talks and looking at old things. Many samples and ends with a full glass of your choice. Overall a neat idea and worth doing once if you like history or just like beer.

Gord and I did the brewery tour at the Alexander Keith's Brewery. I've done it twice before and it's always interesting. There were various guides who were very knowledgeable who broke the tour into chunks. After seeing different rooms, we were led into Stag's Head, where there was a small kitchen party. Along the way, we were given samples of Keith's IPA, Lunenburg Coffee and Cacao Stout, Highland Pilsner and Le Passage Gose. At the end of the party, we were bid adieu. It was a fun tour and I'd definitely recommend it.

Tried to check this place out on our recent trip to Nova Scotia but it was closed for a private event. Locals outside told us not to waste our money and that the tour here is $$$ and not that good. It was fun walking around the building and checking out the attached pubs and eateries. On the weekend they have a market here in the courtyard area. I still might try to give a try if we are ever back in Halifax. Maybe having a few drinks pre-tour might make it seem a little better. But still, having two local couples tell us not to waste our money here doesn't bode well.

Nice place to tour, beer school was the best part, only one off the places in Nova Scotia tio do a proper 9 step pour of Stella Artois

I've been to a lot of Brewery Tours and this is by far the most entertaining tour I have ever been to. At first I thought was OMG are you serious??? With all that over theatrical drama??? LOL it's awesome really. These guys have have made it so while you're learning about the history of the beer they are doing their best to entertain you as well. I heard that the Brewery is haunted so here I was waiting and looking around for a glimpse of some kind of ghost. The best part is the beer tasting. The guys doing the tour was dancing and singing while we enjoy our beer, I mean come on they were fun to watch and they seriously put a lot of effort into entertaining everyone. Overall it was great time and I would definitely come back. The only criticism I have is that the girls in the cashier should share the same enthusiasm as the tour guides.

Tourist trap. Not a place to eat or drink. They referred me to a "partner bar" that I couldn't find. Complete waste of time

Legitimately the best fish & chips I've ever had. Waitstaff is so nice! I have a good feeling this is a place both locals and tourists love.

When we went,…read morewe started at Goldwater in the market, where we had a bite-sized lobster roll; which was super fresh and quintessential Nova Scotia, but rather small. We went from there to Johnny Ks, where we had a bite-sized beef gyro, which while tasty, was a very small portion, and nothing special. From there we puttered out of the downtown area to the Chain Yard Cidery, where one of the managers met with the group and shared great details about their business, along with two shots of cider (which were both delicious), and a tasty treat. From there we went to Salvatore's for a mini slice of cold pizza (underline & italicize mini and cold), which was extremely disappointing. We wrapped up at Five Fishermen, for chowder and wine, which was the highlight (followed by the Chain Yard). The chowder was a good portion, and I appreciated the two glasses of local wines. I've taken food tours in other cities, and was expecting similar (more upscale). Their price is less than other tours I've taken (which helps), but I didn't take a food tour to have a bite of a gyro and a cold half-a-slice of pizza. I understand the lobster roll as a coastal treat, and it was very fresh, the other two stops were what I was expecting for the entire experience. With so many restaurants in the downtown area, I'm not sure why we drove to the outskirts and back. I thought there would've been a stop for a scoop of infamous Nova Scotian homemade ice cream (plenty of options, and relatively cheap). If Five Fisherman didn't accommodate our food-allergy (nothing was offered as an alternative at Goldwater), I would've been extremely frustrated, and our tour-guide wasn't sure they'd have something for us, even though we gave advanced notice of the shellfish allergy and they said it would be fine. On the plus side, the tour guide did a great job sharing the history of Halifax, was very knowledgeable about local wines, and enthusiastic about the food scene.

Very well paced, just enough alcohol to keep it fun but not get too crazy, and great food as well. They easily accommodated our vegetarian group, which was nice. I would easily recommend this if you have friends in from out of town and are looking for something more fun than the typical tourist fare.

Both Ryan and Dean were so great with our kids who were at times a little, ahem, cranky, and they enthusiastically joked with them and helped cheer them up when they were having melt downs. Ryan even helped our daughter find cool rocks at one of the beaches we explored. My husband is an adventurous guy who is from Halifax and has toured around the province a lot and I have lived here for 10 years and have done some touring myself and they took us to places neither of us had been to before. I never knew Nova Scotia had such diverse and gorgeous spots! While we were driving around, Ryan told us so much about the history of the area and it was absolutely fascinating. He is a deep well of knowledge which definitely enriched our experience. Both Dean and Ryan are kind and funny. We clicked immediately. I loved the adventure we went on today and our kids keep saying they want to do it again. Thanks for such a great day!
