Usually I get bubble tea mainly for the boba. Why do I even bother with the tea portion? I should get the whole cup filled with it. I decided to give Taste Tea a go since they had a groupon promotion (always check and they still have it!). I have been there three times since. My favorite so far is the muscat oolong. My first visit, I opted for panda panda, a milk tea with their original and white boba, and they were out of it. It was a blessing in disguise because the muscat oolong was very delicious. A lot of bubble tea shops in my experience tend to make their drinks overly sweet but my drink was perfectly sweet and the tea shined. I am disappointed because my consecutive visits, they were always out of something I wanted. There are other drink options besides milk tea. They also sell sweets even snow ice cream which I don't recommend. I think its a good price point for the size but even the simplest toppings like frosted flake cereal were stale. I would stick with the milk tea. read more

This is my first time visiting Taste Tea, but can I just say if I was a UMBC student I would be here all the time. I'm giving this a tentative four stars ( to be updated) only because I didn't look to see if I could alter the sweetness of the drink. I got the taro smoothie and it was extremely sweet which wasn't bad but I just prefer mines to have a little less sugar. if I find that I can make those alterations this place is a definite five stars. The boba was super tasty and I definitely want to go back and try more of their flavors! read more

EDIT: I was reached out to shortly after leaving my review and met with an explanation and apology. I definitely appreciate the quickness in responsiveness over this issue. Service is terrible. Workers were talking the entire time while taking my order and not being attentive at all. They messed up my drink, discussed it amongst themselves, and then called my order as if they didn't mess it up. This is sadly the only bubble tea place near me and the drinks aren't bad but I wouldn't recommend coming here solely due to the terrible service. read more

I am excited to write this review. I was waiting for a friend to play lottery and I was sitting in the car when I noticed this place. I can't remember where I had first heard about this place. Let me tell you I was excited from the time I entered and heard the music that had me feeling like covid didn't even exist. I had inquired about the red velvet drink which was an old photo that I saw posted on another yelp review. Unfortunately, that item was no longer being sold. I ended up choosing a different flavor and it was simply delicious. The service was pleasant and it didn't take long for my order to be prepared. I would surely return to this location for another smoothie. I just love ice cold drinks. It's an addiction. I am so glad that this place is not located close to my house. I was never the biggest bubble tea fan but for some odd reason, I have been getting it a lot recently. Kung Fu tea and tea do are a little far from me but I was pleasantly surprised to find out a new bubble tea place called Taste Tea opened up in arbutus. If you're not familiar with the area, just know there's only street parking here. You don't have to pay for it, they just have a 2 hours limit or something. It's actually right next to sorrentos and I believe they have a mutual deal going on where you get some kind of discount by bringing in a receipt of the other. They also have a 10% UMBC discount. They have the basic Bubble teas like Black milk tea, matcha milk, Thai, and others. I still think kung fu tea and tea do are better but this is a great spot if you live in the area or are a umbc student. The only downside is that they can fairly slow. Sometimes they only have 1 worker in the back and if you have a big order, it'll be a little slow. Other than that, this is a good bubble tea place you should definitely try. read more

I love this place! My go to orders are the Vietnamese coffee, Taro, or Tigers milk all with lychee jelly. The drinks are great here, my only complaint (and reason for 4 rather than 5 stars) is that their service is pretty slow and they no longer answer the phones so you can't order ahead even if you try. Also no punch cards at this place to earn rewards, they just use an app that is decent, you get credit on future drinks if you type in your phone number so that's an okay alternative to having punch cards. Usually pretty loud and busy with small space to sit so I wouldn't recommend it as a study location unless you are going in the middle of the day before people are out. read more

As a student at umbc, this place is so convenient and the drinks are 'Taste tea' XD The atmosphere is so calming and the post it note wall they have on the way in is such a great idea for customers!! Its fun seeing new post it notes on the wall! I'm glad people are enjoying themselves at this establishment! There are six high top chairs and two little circle tables. The staff is welcoming and friendly! The bubble tea is okay... --Coffee Milk Tea with boba: They brewed the coffee fresh so I really enjoyed this because you could actually taste the coffee. Usually other bubble tea places drown the coffee milk tea with milk and you can barely taste the coffee. The boba was a little tough and chewy, so I didn't enjoy them too much. --Matcha Milk Tea with herbal jelly: Creamy, but very milky. It could use more matcha powder which you could already tell by the color of it. Also, I didn't think they added enough grass jelly. Prices are so affordable!!! I paid about $8 for two LARGES. My boyfriend and I ended up getting dessert after hours of studying:) --Pistachio cake: Light, fluffy, and tasty. There wasn't an overbearing pistachio flavor, it was perfect! As far as places in Arbutus go, this is pretty great. The bubble tea and pie I had were both amazing and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is clean and comfortable. Service is friendly and pleasant and fairly fast. Seating is limited and many patrons got theirs "to-go". Still, I could see this being a pleasant place to read or journal while enjoying a special treat. read more

The woman who took our order then proceeded to be on her iPhone for another 13 minutes; We had to ask her "how much longer will be the wait" and in her response was "their about to be ready" while still sitting on her phone. It is currently 8:24pm and she has just started making our drinks. We asked for no ice and double poppers in our drink and still received them with ice and also one scoop of poppers. I was so pleasantly surprised that there was a bubble tea place so close to work and the UMBC campus. I always order Taro milk teas with bubbles added. The price is great and service is prompt and friendly. The one downside is parking on East St. It can be busy sometimes and you can pay to park at the lot across the street. Crossing is a bit sketchy but as long as you're careful, it's worth it! They should try to draw the college students down here more!! read more

Wanted bubble tea on the way to the airport. This was the closest one to BWI. I'm surprised there wasn't closer because the University is very close by. I guess they all go to Ellicot City for bubble tea. But came here and it had quite a few people already. But we were helped right away. While ordering they told us that they were out of boba. I was like "WHAA how are you out of boba?!". I guess they had a lot of people come by to get tea. I got the regular milk tea with less sweetness and it was okay not the best teas I have had but I got my tea fix. They at least had lychee jelly which I love in my tea. I came here with my family and was so grateful for how helpful the employees were in walking through the menu and recommending a tea for me. Ok broskis this place is lit. It was really good! The staff is courteous and polite and very helpful if you are indecisive. The place is very clean and pleasant to be in. Great atmosphere. The prices are pretty great and the quality is really nice and they are happy to adjust it if you are not satisfied. Also the place is super aesthetically pleasing for all your Instagram posts. My family lives in Arbutus, and I have always struggled to find a coffee shop within walking distance. However, I saw the good reviews and decided to try this place. Big mistake! I walked in and asked for a cappuccino. Yes, that cappuccino. Espresso w/steamed milk foam. In other words, I made the simplest coffee request possible. The person seemed to have no idea what I meant. He kept offering me some type of cold coffee that was already prepared. It quickly became clear that this is NOT a coffee shop, though they advertise themselves as such. I was disappointed. I would LOVE to have had a place in walking distance and I would have given them an outrageous amount of business over the next two weeks. However, they are not really a coffee shop.
