The woman…read moreworking there told me they've changed concepts and are now focusing on birria and barbacoa. I asked if they had a menu, but she said they didn't have any menus available yet. The burners weren't on, and the whole place smelled like Fabuloso. It was definitely clean, but it didn't feel like they were open and ready to serve customers. If they're in the middle of a transition, I'll check back once everything is up and running. As of today, though, it didn't seem like they were fully open for business.

To satisfy your carnivorous cravings, hurry over to Carnitas El Artista. Or fuel up before a game…read moreat SoFi. Pull up a seat and enjoy the Michoacan artistry of the incredible carnitas. Carnitas: The carnitas is crispy, rich, and intensely flavored. You can get them as tacos dressed with onions and cilantro. Or get the carnitas plate, loaded with meat, and rice and beans. Add some excellent salsa roja, sharp salsa verde, and spicy orange habanero salsa. Menudo: The huge clay bowl contains the red and savory stew of tripe and chillies. The tripe has been long simmered until they are soft, tender, and just a bit chewy. Toss in onions, cilantro, and dried oregano. Squeeze some lime juice to keep building the flavor. The friendly owner checked in on us and offered us a cup of buche. The pork stomachs are fried and are soft with a nice chewy gelatinous exterior that has absorbed the savory notes. Parking: There's a lot, but there's only one space since the other side's spots are for the neighboring tire shop. You can easily find a spot by the sidewalk in front.

My friends and I stopped by…read moreBrothers Cousins Tacos on a Thursday evening around 8:00 p.m. and there were only a few people in line in front of us. I ordered four tacos in total: two al pastor tacos, one lengua, and one cabeza taco. You start by ordering on the left side of the stall, pay for your food, and work your way right where all the garnishes and sauces are. Of the tacos I tried, my favorite was by far the cabeza. The meat was fatty and rich and melt-in-your-mouth tender. I would definitely recommend a squeeze of lime and raw diced onions to help cut the richness for a more balanced bite. With the al pastor, Brothers Cousins has a bunch of meat already sliced and diced up on the grill top, which unfortunately means unless you're getting the pieces of meat that are directly contacting the grill, you're not going to get the crispy bits that make al pastor so delicious. You do get a piece of pineapple with the al pastor, so that's a nice touch. Not my al pastor, but far from the worst. Overall, I cannot recommend Brothers Cousins enough if you're in this area -- the tacos here are seriously delicious and you're getting insane value. I hope they're able to maintain the $2 price point well into the future.

It's a popular spot, but the line moves fast, and the service is friendly and quick. I love that they let you self serve the grilled onions and peppers. The pastor tacos also come with pineapple on top, which I love. You can park in the CVS parking lot, so you don't have to stress about finding parking. I'll definitely be back, and I want to try their burritos next time.

This place is a gem. Of course, I had to start with a margarita served in one of those huge goblet glasses, and wow--it did not disappoint. Strong, smooth, and full of flavor. My wife, who's pregnant, ordered a virgin cocktail, and honestly, it was just as impressive. It was refreshing, well-balanced, and fairly priced (which is rare for non-alcoholic drinks). For food, we went all in. My wife ordered the fish taco meal, which was generous and packed with flavor. The portions were no joke. Our son got the kids burrito, and it was massive--definitely not your average "kids meal." I went with the quesabirria tacos from the appetizer menu, and they were perfect for my appetite. Rich, flavorful, and satisfying without being too heavy. The ambiance really stood out. It strikes a great balance between authentic Mexican culture and a modern, clean dining experience. It's the kind of place that feels lively and welcoming without being overwhelming--perfect for a casual night out or even a small celebration. Service was top-tier. The staff was attentive without hovering, quick with recommendations, and made sure we were taken care of from start to finish. You can tell they genuinely care about the customer experience, which goes a long way. Parking is a bit limited right in front, but there's plenty of street parking and nearby lots, so it's manageable. Bonus: right next door is Drobe Stogie Cigar Lounge, which is a great spot to check out if you enjoy cigars. It's the perfect way to wind down after a solid meal. Overall, the pricing is very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, and this is easily becoming one of our go-to spots for nights out. Highly recommend.
