Came to this spot because we were hungry and looking for a quick bite. Ordered burritos, the place has an open sign but they looked closed, and it was a bit strange that they were cooking outside instead of inside the establishment. Nonetheless, I'm a bit disappointed on the burritos, they were mediocre to say the least, no flavor. And the service just wasn't there. Maybe the tacos are better? We saw a lot of people ordering tacos, which is why I'm giving them a 3 star.. because just maybe the tacos are better but the service and ambience are not. Won't be coming back. read more

Cheap, good street tacos. La Lumbre used to take the prize because it used to be open so late. Since the pandemic, like many restaurants, it has shortened its hours. That sweet spot it hit as a late night destination for cheap food is no longer. But the tacos do taste great and the crowd it attracts, mainly workers and other regular from the area are a testament to its quality. The chorizo and lengua tacos are great. Their horchata is good. But please bring back more late night hours! read more

The food was good and authentic. I went late at night and it was two guys working. Only three stars because one of the coworkers was visibly sick and coughing with no mask. He wasn't the one cooking but he was still working. I ate the food but couldn't finish because I kept thinking about this sick guy. Haven't gone back for the same reason. The kitchen looks like the typical mom and pa messy kitchen. I used to not care about that but I know it's possible to serve good food and have a presentable kitchen (it's very visible). They need someone younger and cleaner to come in. Doesn't need gentrification but does look like they need an A rating. Also I got something with guac and the dude was like yeahhhh avocados are expensive so no guac. Lol okay but isn't that why this is more expensive anyway? Idk. Ordered adobada and carnitas. Carnitas tastes excellent and so did the salsa. The adobada tasted super weird, almost sweet like chocolate took a small bite and couldn't finish it. Tasty adobo and asada tacos on the cheap. The folks here are friendly, and they're open very late (3:00 AM, I think). It is a hidden gem. I have tried their tacos and tortas. Asada and Carnitas. Full flavor since the first bite. Honestly, I rarely order tortas but after watching a friend of mine enjoy one I felt obligated. My God I don't know what those tortas have but the flavor is just right. This is the only place I know of that sells Gorditas in the area, I have searched for other places even trucks and no one makes them. I 100% always order the Chicken Gordita, it's extremely affordable here. I kind of loved this place. Tiny unassuming shack by the side of the road with a limited no-nonsense menu, outdoor seating, no alcohol permitted. We saw a bunch of locals come and go with their favorite orders - people order, eat, and leave. First of all, when walking up to order and examining the kitchen, it appears that the entire kitchen needs a deep cleaning, and then you see two unkept men cooking the food. One of which has a mouth full of rotting teeth. The meat and beans have the same odd after taste, something along the lines of burnt grease/oil from yesterday. The last 3 times I've come, the guys who work at night literally close early ( when they feel like it) or they tell me they don't feel like making shrimp tacos. So I can only order steak. So it's 12:10 AM and I'm headed southbound on Prairie in the city of Inglewood on my way to Tacos Mexico, I heard there open 24 hrs. Though on my way I see La Lumbre Tacos and a grade A rating in the window so I decided to try it. I had an Asada burrito and a can of 7-UP which came to be 7.50 even. The burrito actually had a really good flavor to it. It was outdoor seating only and the place is right next store to a night club. LA Llamarada which provided some good thump-in accordion music while I was eating. The only thing is, this area is not that great especially at this time of night. Despite me knowing that I decided to try it anyway. So if you decide to go please be aware of this. read more
