Always good!! I had the SPRING PEA SOUP with biscuits and chutney. My friend and I sat outside. There a very strong order of gasoline which I'm sure was not the restaurants fault. Service is good . Servers behind the counter are always helpful. I was with a friend with macular degeneration so I had to explain the menu. I grew up eating Taste. I remember the old store. It's been a part of my life forever. In recent years the bread has changed. Sandwiches have gotten smaller as the company expanded. Today I decided to splurge (yes it's a splurge because the sandwiches are so much different from what you used to get in the past). I was so disappointed when I opened my sandwich wrapper. The bread was cut SO incredibly thin, it was a joke. It used to be twice the thickness. And I mean seriously look at what's on this sandwich. Two slices of turkey and one slice on cheese. It's not worth my money at all. I was so excited for a yummy Hilltop Sandwich today for lunch. And I'm so upset about the low quality that has come of these sandwiches, I can hardly eat it. Lovely place for a refreshing lunch. Vegan options available. The sandwiches are light and delicious. I ordered the granny with goat cheese, granny green apples, chicken, fresh greens and balsamic vinaigrette. The Lynnhaven is a nice version of a club sandwich, extremely delicious and not too big! The chicken salad sandwich and tuna sandwiches are excellent. It's amazing what a different a good bread makes! The snickerdoodle cookies are out of this world in yummy ness!!!! We ordered from here for work twice and loved the food we ordered. I got the Northerner Sandwich with the 7 layered dessert. Loved the portion of my sandwich and it was more than enough, so I was only able to finish half and save the rest for later. The food is definitely fresh and filling. Absolutely love this location of Taste! Down by the beach and plenty of seating to go around. The food is always fresh and theres plenty of stuff to browse and buy when you're waiting for your food. Most of their products in store are made locally. Plenty of selections of craft beer and wine. Outdoor seating seats a lot of people and there's always space for the pups outside. Inside there's a few tables downstairs, but there is also an upstairs here too. My only gripe is not necessarily their fault. When is busy here... it's really busy! Really liked this Taste location and had an exceptional chicken salad sandwich. Bread was super fresh, great crust but soft on the inside. Chicken salad, bacon, lettuce and tomato was all excellent. Half a star off for somewhat chaotic ordering (left one item off, then said they didn't have any in stock, then confusing process for exchange or refund) and half a star off for desserts that were just okay. Lemon blueberry slice was tasty but a bit soggy (maybe wasn't as fresh as it could have been), and chocolate ice cream sandwich was a combination of rock hard frozen icing and soft and soggy cookie. A wonderful place if you're craving some place peaceful to sit outside and have a bite and grab a drink. Their pimento cheese is the best I've had so no surprise I like the Lynn Haven sandwich which uses that pimento cheese. But they also sell small tubs of them which is dangerous. Have a decent selection of beer and wine bottles, but the white wine from the tap (yes they don't just have beer on tap) was lukewarm, which made it not appealing. Pretty good food. Decent sandwich's with fresh ingredients. Its a very cute place, nice patio clean inside. Some of the staff had an attitude, feel bad for the new girl that had to take our order with her crappy supervision. When you want in you can just feel everyone was in a bad mood, no one asked if we needed help. Which we did since we had never been there before. No point of saying you wanna eat there since they pack up everything to-go style. Like I said pretty good food. Cost is a bit more than it's worth but not bad. Gone is the tiny roadside stop that has adorned the corner of Shore Dr. and First Court for decades. It has served the Chicks Beach area well, but loyal Taste customers had screamed out for a more updated location for years. Don't get me wrong the old location was a charmer. However, Peter and his crew of faithful had grand plans to make this all new Taste a masterpiece... in my opinion they accomplished just that. The planning for the new location began years ago. A dream became reality on Tuesday November 26th with a soft opening. Some minor kinks need worked out by the Grand Opening and I have no doubt they will. The one thing they cannot run away from and management knows it. Parking will be a challenge as they only have 35 spaces. On most days I envision this not being a problem, but on busy weekends it will be problematic. Also a new policy that parking is no longer allowed across the street in the grass with this property recently changing hands. The all new Shore Taste is a charmer, they not only pulled it off they exceeded their local followings expectations. First the construction was complete in less than 90 days... that is warp speed for a project of this magnitude. They even moved up the soft opening a few days. Some minor work on the exterior was taking place yesterday, but the interior was finished. Bayville Taste is built to resemble a barn themed out with a dairy farm feel... complete with a medal roof, open interior rafters, large plank wood floors and an elevated loft for dining. Inside the new bistro is a stunner and unlike any other Taste in the Tidewater chain. For those not aware the entire 400+ acres of Bayville Park, Bayville Golf Course and Church Point neighborhood was a working dairy farm up from 1919 to the late 60's. That is a little difficult to grasp considering the sprawling development of 30+ years. You will find a huge "Bayvile Farms" sign on the wall paying tribute to the heritage of this property. Other displays paying tribute are paintings on the wall and even milk jugs utilized for their outdoor seating. On my visit I was greeted by Barbara who is a floater type of employee who welcomes customers and assist on the floor. I found her very helpful and pleasant to converse with. You could really get a sense that she is a natural for this position. I was already familiar with the Taste menu and moved to the counter for my order. They had plenty of staff on hand at the ready to assist. If you are a regular you will find the same great employees on hand which made me feel right at home. A nice young man got me going on a signature sandwich the "Northender" which is a honey smoked turkey, applewood smoked bacon, havarti, avocado, romaine, tomato, basil with mayo on French bread... whew! Also a new addition is they serve local Smarthmouth on tap, but had yet to get their ABC license on my visit. While I waited for my order I moved over to the fountain machine and found an issue with it making ice. Workers were around working on it at the time. After finding a table I got up to look around at the retail area. If you are already a loyal Taste customer then there is no surprise at the gourmet inventory they carry. However it is drastically expanded now. All the great cookies, snacks, chocolates, nuts, chips sauces and on and on and on of specialty items you cannot find in a typical grocery are here. The wine selection was a disappointment, but I am sure will be shored up soon. I noticed a nice addition of a specialty stand up ice-cream case. I don't recall this at others locations and may be a unique offering for this store only. My sandwich was up in around 10 minutes and tasted great. Barbra came over to check on me as well as long time manager on Shore Sandy who was running around like a chicken with her head cut off at the hundreds of details that needed to be addressed. But she had time for me and the fact customers come first is a tradition that has not changed with the building of a new store. You will still find plenty of out door picnic style seating which is a hallmark of this location since they previously had no interior seating before. You will still get that roadside feel albeit the tables are not as close to the road. Also a small four to five table area is located just to the side with a pass through from the interior kitchen. This area was not open yet. Also not open is another long time taste trademark and locals fave... their fresh produce stand. This will be located just to the right of the entrance and will be very cool. Large vertical doors will open that are hinged at the top to display their wonderful locally grown fruits and veggies. The evolution from the cramp roadside stop to the gorgeous and spacious new structure is nothing short of spectacular, a real masterpiece. Super cute location. It's two stories and they have a huge selection in their market section (including fresh produce outside!!) I love their chicken Caesar salad and apricot tea (with in insane amount of sugar packets because it comes unsweetened!) We also tried their Cobb salad but as a wrap, and it was utter disappointment. The egg was completely outside of the wrap, and the wrap was falling apart upon opening the wrapper!! It also could have used some dressing, because it was pretty "dry" and had no real flavor to it. We ended up sharing the Caesar dressing that came with my salad and it was good! Would I come back and try? sure. I love what Taste has to offer but this experience wasn't the best. read more

Nice location and area. Design inside of the location is amazing. Unfortunately that's about all i can say about this experience. From the time you walk into the door and place an order you have no direction or on how to receive your food. I have heard in the towne center location you receive a number to be place on your table which seems like an easier process from a guest experience. Consistency in business is always key. I highly recommend their sandwiches. I had one of their signature sandwiches, Boardwalk. It is smoked turkey, bacon, Swiss cheese, coleslaw, and house dressing. I highly recommend. On Fridays during summers, they have live music and local breweries. Great place enjoy friends, food, drinks, and live music on Fridays. Good music. I loved this place; since we moved up north, it's been a nostalgic choice to come home to for lunch after a beach day. I submitted my online order at 1:15p; wait said 60 mins - fine. The drive/traffic on a Saturday from the beach would slow us down. We got there 15 mins shy of the 1 hour ETA - fine. Young workers came up to the car several times asking for my order name. Time goes by; I asked for status... nothing. I notice the teens manning the orders were receiving the bags from inside to sit outside in the warm air, but no one was calling out the names of the orders. Why not teach your workers to call out orders? Finally, my husband asks about an order that just came out: 'what order is that?'; it was ours. Ultimately, we waited a total of 1.5 hours for sandwiches I honestly could have made at home. The only saving grace: their sassy pimento cheese dip made it worth the visit. Taste - I'm all about supporting local businesses, esp amidst the pandemic. But please: fix your ordering operations and quality sandwich-making production; otherwise, we may not come back again. read more

This is my first time eating here and I was so suprised. I thought this place was overrated but I definitely see why everyone likes going here now! The outside and inside of the restaurant was so beautiful. It was very spacious and very rustic looking. Outside there are picnic tables if you would like to eat outside. The picture does not do this sandwhich justice. I ordered the Lynhaven sandwhich and it was amazing. The chicken was so juicy and the pimento cheese was delicious. It also had basil mayo which i never had before and it was surprisingly good. I didn't take a picture of them but I also got the habenero chips. They are a really spicy so if that's your thing they are definitely for you. The food was delivered to me fast and the workers were so nice. There is an upstairs to go eat but there isn't that many tables up there, however, there are picnic tables outside and you can always take your order to go. For the most part, I always get the "Peter's Pick" combo, because it features a rotation of different sandwiches, plus chips and a drink, all for $9. Every sandwich I have tried has been unique and exceptional. My wife and I usually order different sandwiches and then trade halfway through, while our daughter loves their Kid's Bento Box. If you have a sweet tooth, they have a gelato bar and a cooler full of super-rich desserts. Try the marble cheesecake if they have a piece available. I worked at TASTE "Unlimited" BC (Before kids) when Peter Coe owned the business. My 17yr old now works there and Im quite sure a large portion of his pay check goes toward sandwiches. The deli/catering business has changed hands over the years and seems to be doing better than ever. You cant deny they have some of the best sandwiches in town. TASTE uses high quality meats & cheeses and their bread (although par baked) is fresh and delicious! Grab a bag of "bread ends" to go with some of their fantastic cheese spreads. Recent addiction-Pimento Cheese Spread! There is a nice selection if beverages from fountain drinks, to specialty drinks, craft beers from local breweries and wines by the bottle or glass. For take away or enjoyed open on the property. Salads, cookies, chocolates, chips and dips. Something for everyone. Take home a bottle of their secret recipe house made dressing. This place is slamming over the summer catering largly to boaters and beach goers. Stop by on Friday night for a cold beer, bbq, and live music on the lawn. Heads up, I just stopped here for gelato. The gelato didn't taste like authentic italian gelato. The consistency was off. HOWEVER, if you're just going for a good dessert, their gelato is like a better version of ice cream. I enjoyed it a lot and thought the mint was very refreshing and not too sweet. It just isn't true gelato; but whatever it is, it was good. The store is really cute inside! I wish that I'd had more time to shop around. Taste Unlimited is half marketplace/half causal dining (you order and pick it up). The market place has nuts, sauces, and other food items which are great for gifts. Taste is slowly becoming one of my favorite lunch places for a good sandwich. This one in particular is my favorite because of the hipster and enviromental-conscious aurora. A Sunday brunch visit was very crowded, but there's so many places to go. They have an outdoor garden market (summer season), an outdoor section to bring kids and dogs, and a large indoor section where you can shop for drinks, peanuts, free tasting stands, wine, merch, and much more! Plentiful parking with a large private lot and friendly staff. The wiches are wonderful, of course, try out The Hilltop sandwich. Very local and hipster feel.
