First time to Wheaton, first time here, just walked in because wine tastings are always enjoyable... definitely a family-ran place. It's been here forever, musty smell when you walk in, our bartender was new at the establishment so she didn't really know much about wine which was kind of a let down for a wine tasting. We've been wine club members here for years. We enjoy the monthly tastings and find the service to be extremely friendly. The tasting pours are very generous and reasonable priced. The wines have greatly improved over the years and are generally very enjoyable. They've recently added the availability of a cheese plate but we'd love to see them team up with Muldoon's, next door, for a larger choice of appetizers. read more

I come here once a year around Christmas with my brother and his wife. It is a great place to relax and hang out for an hour or two. The sommelier was knowledgeable about his wines, didn't push us faster than we wanted to go, and gave a good pour. Usually I would be turned off by a $9 price tag for 7 tastes but they really do make it worth it. The taste of the wine is about average so if you are looking for an earth shattering wine, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a great date night, stop in. See you next year! read more

A group of us went there after a friend won a free wine tasting for ten as a raffle prize, which first of all, kudos to Tasting deVine for donating to a good cause. While the main room was nicely decorated and very inviting, we were served at a bar where there were no stools - as a light-weight who hadn't eaten much that day, my tipsy self would have definitely appreciated somewhere to sit. Our server gave us a general overview of each wine before he served it, including what we should be tasting, what it pairs well with, etc. His descriptions and patience became shorter with each bottle however, probably when it became apparent that we were simply there to have a good time and most likely wouldn't be buying anything. They also supplied us with comment sheets, which provided much entertainment as we all wrote very graphic descriptions of our wines, often not positive. The service could have been better, but the tasting was well worth paying just a tip and not for the whole thing. It was an interesting experience which I would recommend to others who enjoy wine more than I do. read more

The wine is mediocre. The staff - horrible. Depending on who is working, it is either indifferent, or borderline hostile. The $7 tasting would be a good deal, but it is sullied by half the wines being bitter and some even revolting. Worse still, even the drinkable wines are easily bested in quality by wines 1/4 the cost by almost anything in Trader Joe's - including "Two Buck Chuck." The final nail in the coffin is their wine "club" - where they pressure you into buying a monthly bottle of whatever new red "wine of the month" they want to get rid of - in exchange, get a measly 10% on anything else drinkable in the store. This was tolerable until one month was a dessert wine, that came in a petite half-bottle - for $20. This was not any miracle wine either, it was kind of a raspberry port with kool-aid added. So not only was it overpriced, but portioned in a miserly fashion too. We bought the tiny bottle, too polite to simply walk out, and left. Never again. Now we buy only wine we enjoy, from other places, at fair prices. Bliss. read more

Cute little tasting room. As others have mentioned, it's a bit small, not a whole lot of seating. We went on a Sunday afternoon and tasted at the bar - and had a nice time! Employees were friendly, and they even gave me a coupon to come back for another tasting. read more

We enjoy going here for a quick, casual wine tasting. They offer many choices for whatever your mood or taste - just the reds, just the whites, there are fruit wines, seasonal wines and you can simply buy a glass of wine. The samples are generously sized and the price for the entire experience is unbeatable. There's limited seating indoors & at times it can get uncomfortably crowded & loud. The staff is very friendly and I'm always impressed that they remember us (as well as what we like!). My only very minor complaint would be 2 patrons whom I've seen with their (leashed) dogs while sitting at the tables or standing at the bar (both inside). I'm a pet lover/owner but this is just not appropriate. read more

Lynfred Winery produces some of the best fruit wines for the price. Their "Tasting deVine" tasting rooms are particularly fun. For a fairly nominal fee ($8 last time) you get a tasting on demand selected from their monthly tasting list. The list changes every month, so it can be a fun monthly event for friends and family. My only complaint with Lynfred/Tasting is their early close. It's a great place to make part of a "Dinner and Drinks" date, but you have to put it first in queue because of the short hours. read more

we are wine club members at lyfred (the roselle location) and have tried to visit all of the tasting rooms as well. The wines are very good and so far the service at all locations has been great. The only complaint I have is that if you take a wine club membership out at one location you can't pick up from another, I wish they could link their systems up. read more

I previously attended a wine tasting at the Naperville location with a large group of people. With that in mind I decided to organize a group of friends for a wine tasting at the Wheaton location. I called approximately two weeks ahead to RESERVE a time and number of guests. I promised to call again closer to the date for a final number so they would be ready for us. I called a few days before my event with a tally. They said great, we're all set. I called a third time because I had several last minute RSVP's and for the THIRD time was told great, all set. So, here's the deal. I walked in last night to my event and the place was packed. I didn't see any tables reserved or space for our group. I told the gentleman at the bar who I was and that we had reservations. He just smiled at me. I asked if they were set up yet, he said they don't do that. What the holy hell? Nope, they don't take reservations. I was told they'd accommodate us as we arrived and space allowed. My friends and I had to mill about the entryway waiting for space to open to taste the wine. We were all eventually served but couldn't sit or stand together which led to a fragmented group. I gave them two stars because the wine was good and the tasting were a generous pour but I'm never going back. Next month we'r going somewhere that takes reservations. read more

My husband and I have been coming to Tasting DeVine for the past 3 years and it is, by far, one of our favorite date night places! We both feel that the pours are VERY generous and have such a great time tasting all of the different wines offered. Every month, there is a new wine that I have never tried. We both truly enjoy studying and tasting all different wines and can appreciate the great quality that Lynfred offers. All of the staff at Tasting DeVine are WONDERFUL, very friendly, very knowledgable, and welcoming to a wide variety of wine drinkers. I cannot speak more highly of Tasting DeVine and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do! read more

I have been dying to try out this place! Its right down the street from my house and office and the feelings of envy I have when I see people on the front terrace only drew me more to this location. The winery is a store inside and also has a large bar for the wine tasting. The store is quaint and charming and even their bathroom has a homely feeling. My friend and I went up to the bar to request outdoor seating from one of the ladies at the bar. She gave us a weird look after she heard our request and said that we could butttttt we would have to buy food as though we could not afford it. We asked how much the food was and what were the options and she stated that you could buy a small sized cheese and grapes plate for only 4 dollars that fed two people and we were a little unsure why she did not think we would want to eat the cheese platter. We were led to our table where our wine tasting began. It is nine dollars for seven tastings of wine. You start out with the sweeter white wines and end with the dry wines. You can even sample two sangria for what I believe was three dollars. The prices are affordable and reasonable. The same lady who we encountered at the bar was also our server and simply just poured our wine and did not explain anything to us whatsoever. She even acted as though we were just a chore to her. Halfway through our wine tastings, the other lady server started pouring us wine and she was more friendly and explained what she was pouring for us. A few seconds later though our previous server came back with the exact same wine. It was as though they were lacking in communication on who was serving us because this incident happened a few times. In terms of the flavor of the wine, some of the wine was flavorful and others were bland and not impressive, and I was expecting more. When we paid our bills, my friends was 9.00 and somehow mine became 19.00 even though we had the exact same thing, except I bought the cheese platter for four dollars, which increased it to 13.00, but not 19.00. I had to inform the second waitress who had already taken my money to return my change, and she did apologize. Overall, there are better tasting locations where you feel more welcome, it is more organized, and wine is actually explained and not just poured. read more

Came here with my in-laws on a Friday night. The place was packed as usual, but they had outdoor seating which was available and we glady accepted. In order to sit outdoors however, the city regulations require that customers purchase food to accompany the wine tasting. That was fine with us, but the caliber of the food was a little disappointing. M&M's, grapes, unremarkable deli cheeses, and generic sandwich bread were generously piled on the platter. After seeing the food, I was prepared for a similar disappointment with the wines. Luckily, the wines were much better than the food! The pours were generous also. I am usually a fan of reds and less happy with whites, but my family and I agreed that we liked almost every wine we tasted. The service was a little spotty, and we found that sometimes we had to wait for quite some time before the next tasting was presented. All in all, we enjoyed ourselves and felt that the wines alone were a good value (you get 7 pours for $9). We will definitely return, likely skip the food, and hope for more reliable service in the future. Cheers! read more

This place is great for a small group get together. The wines are decently priced. Buy a bottle instead of just a glass. You can always close it and take it home for the same price. My favorite wine is the blackberry one. read more
