The reviews concerning the lack of flavor are spot on. I visited this restaurant as part of a group. I decided to order something really basic, that I thought would be difficult to get wrong. I ordered catfish and fries. not only did the catfish lack flavor, as in seasoning, but it was also completely bland and you could not tell it was catfish. Another member at the table ordered shrimp and said it was tasteless as well. I'm not sure if it's poor quality or if they are improperly storing the food. My family just came here to dine in for Mother's Day, and I wish I would've definitely read the reviews before coming here but this was Plan B not A. We wanted to go to Crab Du Jour (the best seafood place btw) but they had an hour waitlist, so we decided quickly on coming here, for starters, we got started with drinks quickly which was nice. We order our food and appetizers, food takes an hour to come out, and the appetizers came out at the same time the food was brought out, and all of it was cold. Open the seafood bag up, 0 steam whatsoever. Should've left right then, but we were hungry and decided to eat it anyway. Upon eating, we notice there is no crab leg crackers or trash bin. My aunt got up and asked the hostess if we could have a cracker, and she says she'll send a server to us to give us some. Another server comes that's not ours holding several of them in her hand, but explains to us that because she's not serving our tables she can't be the one that gives them to us, and that it has to come from our waitress. Okay cool. 15 mins go by, finally am able to flag the server down to ask for some. She wasn't obviously rude, but the tone definitely gave passive aggressive. Another 15 min pass and she finally comes back with one single crab leg cracker for several people. Interesting. People right next to us were celebrating and getting drinks from the bar, and the waitress was way more attentive to them than us as far as the drinks. When I did see her again, I asked for a trash bin for us to discard as we're eating, she never got us one btw so we ended up putting the discards on the table. We pretty much wrap up eating, our drinks are empty and there's been no refills, my aunt goes on ahead to ask for the bill. Completely finish eating before the server decides to ask us if we need refills. 10 more min pass by and my aunt just ends up getting up to go pay at a register by the front. When the server did come back, I had to ask for to go bags which took 10-15 more min lmao. Everything we asked the server for took ridiculously long, and she acted like it was an inconvenience like people aren't paying over $100 for food. The portions for the prices aren't it either. I also overheard the people that were next to us that got more attentive service complain and said hook & reel was better and that they won't be back and I agreed with them. First time and last time, can promise you that. We walked in the door at 4:45 and seated right away. We were greeted and they took our drink orders right away, but took us 25 minutes to get our drinks, and all of them were waters but one which was a soda. Then it took another 15 minutes for them to come back and get our order. We should have left right the and there. It took us ONE WHOLE HOUR to get our food. The waiter was good, little slow for not taking the initiative to make sure everything was going smoothly. Food was good but portions are crazy small and not worth the money, as far as the flavor it was so so bland ever and just horrible. Save your money and go somewhere else. I usaually don't do this but I need to warn others about the trouble service we received while having one of our friends birthday dinner. The manager was rude and didn't know her job. When they brought the food to the table they got everybody's orders wrong and she didn't do anything extra to correct the problem. The blue crab was over cooked and very mushy. CHANGE THE MUSIC GENRE!! So I come in with co workers and sit down. There's another group next to me. We are trying to figure out if the music is the music we here. I hear them laughing. Then we hear the word pu**y, the f@&k. So I go and ask the greater to change the music choice because we hear vulgarity. She says okay and they are changing it. 5 min later same crap. Apparently I should have said genre ‍. Two more hours of profanity. UNACCEPTABLE! Waitress had an attitude problem. Shrimp was over cooked. Crab legs were okay. Good flavor though. Loved the corn on the cob and sausage. But they are NOT better than Straight Drop. An okay boil restaurant... It wasn't as bad as I expected, but if you've ever been to Boiling Crab in California or Hot n Juicy in DC, you will know what I'm talking about when I say this place does not compare. First off, the shrimp wasn't fresh shrimp. It was frozen, I can guarantee that. The texture, the type, and how it was prepared were clear indications that it's frozen shrimp one could get from a bag at Walmart. Tasted like those cooked cocktail shrimps on the platter in the shrimp freezer. The crawfish wasn't fresh either but it wasn't bad. Raw oysters platter came with 2 thin slices of lemon and no hot sauce. We had to ask for it. The oysters were shucked but were not cut to be free from the shell to eat. We didn't know that and ended up slurping just hot sauce! However, the all mixed sauce for the boil was pretty good. It had a good flavor. I wish the contents in the bag were soaked up in the sauce more. Once I started peeling, I realized that it only coated the outside. The restaurant struggled on their first day; my husband wants to give this casual inexpensive place another chance. Maybe their staff, service, wait time will improve. We weren't given cutlery, condiments, and the food took a long time to arrive. Servers need to learn their job. What a shame. I wanted to like this place so bad! My family and friends love seafood, so another local spot here in Fayetteville, that serves oysters especially would be more than welcome! Unfortunately, I've been in twice and had issues each time. The first time it was just me and my daughter. I went in because I wanted some oysters. They were out. The food we did order was great and the service from one individual was decent. The second time we went it was with a larger party of friends. I was able to order oysters but they were the worst I've ever had. They also had NO horse radish and acted put off when I asked about it. The service this time was awful. With maybe one exception, the staff acted offended and inconvenienced from the beginning, like they already hate their job and this is a new restaurant! Some of the food was not prepared well this time either and I felt guilty about recommending the location to the group. Unsure if we will ever go back. What a shame! The actual setup looks great, like you could imagine yourself at the beach almost, but it seems like the ownership and staff are clueless. read more

First, I would say if you're going TAKE YOUR OWN HOT SAUCE. They do not currently carry hot sauce. The fried shrimp were good, large, and fried to perfection. The fried catfish didn't have too much of a taste. The crab bag was good. (Super oily and buttery though) Don't waste your time asking could you substitute anything. There is no sub clause.
