We were looking for a Braums up this way, and stumbled upon The Freeze. It certainly did not disappoint! I enjoyed a double burger with cheese. Very solid burger! My husband had mushroom Swiss burger, and it was really good! I had a regular cheeeeburger combo. The burger was really great! The fries were decent, but nothing phenomenal. Burgers were both wadded up and put into one tiny bag along with both orders of onion rings along with a cooked into powder cheese bites. They had to smash it all down to fi into one bag. I had the jumbo burger which is actually a normal size. My wife got a regular burger and it looked like a regular burger from McDonald's only it tasted much better-as well as the jumbo burger. I only bring this point up for reference purposes of potential customers. The tots and curly fries were also fresh and very good. We topped it off with regular soft serve ice cream It was better than most others. Obviously, everyone has something different that they look for in all of these items. What works well for some doesn't work for others. However, it was all good enough to bring me back from out of town to repeat the experience. One more important side note: In today's new world of lame experiences that one can have eating out, this place was fully staffed,fully alert and friendly. It was very refreshing. read more

I used to love coming here and always had good experiences. I believe this restaurant has a new owner though, as I experienced something totally different this time. The burgers were horribly greasy, not as flavorful as they used to be, but the worst part for me was that a random man who was dining in, in dirty clothes with dirty hands, was helping himself to making his own drinks and food in the back, which made me so uncomfortable, knowing the ice scoop for the drinks, the food tools, all of that was contaminated. First off, just to clarify for anyone not from this area, this is actually not a "Tasty Freeze". It is called "The Freeze". We were traveling through the area and were excited to see a "Tasty Freeze" listed on Yelp, but when we arrived the sign says "The Freeze" (since 1966), but we were hungry, so we still decided to give it a try. I cannot review the food, only the service because when we arrived inside the restaurant at 8:48 pm we were immediately informed that we could only order ice cream. When we asked if they had already closed they said no, but only for ice cream. There were other customers inside eating, but apparently they arrived before the pre-closing food cut off. The young man at the register has obviously not been trained in any type of customer service because he seemed almost offended that we wanted to order burgers 12 minutes before closing time. Again, the drive through was open, the sign for the inside said open, there were several other customers dining in, and the young man confirmed that they were open, but only for ice cream. All this being said, I can't recommend the service here. And, the owner or manager should change the hours listed for the restaurant to whatever time it is when they stop serving food. read more

what happened?!?!? horrible service, wrong food order, skimping on servings. what kind of white castle crap is this?!?!? we called 5 times trying to order ahead, they answered 5 times and hung up on us. after we got there to go threw the drive threw the worker was rude and got our order wrong. the burgers were burnt and tiny and the fries were soggy and cold. the fries also seemed like a half a serving. and defiantly not worth the price. this use to be a good place to eat, but has now lost customers who have been coming for years. read more

Priceless menu and a fancy line they give to the employee' to say when you ask about prices of anything. "Well if we had prices written (like 99.9% of every other establishment) we'd just have to change it every week due to this inflation" well it's clear that they just don't feel confident charging you $4 more for a burger that fits in your palm. read more

I wish the old owners still owned this place. They actually had friendly servers and they didn't skimp you on the food. Now the food is never enough to fill you up, and tastes like dog food and is way too expensive for what you get. They don't apologize when they make mistakes and forget items in your order, The new owners don't know what they're doing. They didn't look too busy there was maybe one car in front and behind us in the drive thru. I get home to eat my food with my husband and there's mustard. Smothered. All. Over. My. Burger. Veggies are no biggie but I cannot stand mustard. And the tomato looks disgusting. Definitely does not look fresh or just cut. It looks like it was sitting in the fridge for a few days. Old school burger/malt joint done right. Very simple, very affordable, and VERY "Tastee"! Counter service was super friendly even though I rolled in only a few minutes before closing time (yes, I was THAT guy). My burger was juicy and flavorful, and the cheesy tots (sorry arteries) were perfect. The strawberry malt was creamy, salty, and sweet. Just thick enough the stand your straw up in, but not so thick your head implodes when you sip it. They also offer deep fried Twinkies which stared at me with a tempting look from a placard on the table. After a very contentious inner debate, I was able to resist this time. This is one of my top 5 favorite places on the planet. I'd say it is up there right by McDonald's before 10:30 a.m. (egg white mcmuffin, please!) Tastee Freez is one of those small town ice cream and burger places that pieces a little bit of your soul back together. A mushroom bacon swiss burger, curly fries, and a chocolate shake is one of the best meals you will ever have. Perfect after a day at the lake or a 20 minute drive just to satisfy a craving. The service is decent- just what you'd expect from part time high schooler employees. The price is right. And when the weather is nice you can enjoy your ice cream on benches outside. I can't believe that at my age, I can say I have just had the worst of anything but this place brought it out in me. i had the jumbo burger. It was so burnt around the edges that it was like charcoal and I was afraid I was going to chip my tooth. Not very big for almost $4.00, and really nothing to praise on this. The curly fries were also overcooked and a very small serving for the price. If I hadn't been starving I would have left it, and if I had been able to trust the place I might have taken it back. I don't recommend even though I know there aren't many choices in Skiatook. The lady running the place really couldn't care if you were there or not. Just not a good experience. read more

The food was decent and they got our order out pretty quickly. BUT...we decided to order ice cream for the road. We ordered 3 small freezes. 20 minutes later we still had no ice cream so I went to the register and they didn't even know what we had ordered. I told them our order so I thought surely it would be a few minutes. Nope! Another lady whose order was taking a long time went to the register right after me and she got hers fairly quickly. I was asked another time by an employee what my order was and she said they were making it and she threw the cashier under the bus saying he was in training. Then the cashier later asked me again what my order was and said they were "about to make it". 30 minutes after my order they bring me someone else's ice cream. I told them I was just going to leave and then they wanted to give me someone else's order for "free". I just wanted what I paid for but just left instead. Didn't even bother asking for a refund because I didn't have another 30 minutes to wait around. I will never be back. read more
