It's been a minute since I've been here & I had their charburger (it's time for me to try that again). I'm glad I finally got to try their fish as I ordered the Fried Fish Basket Combo. I got fries as my side. The fries were good. Nicely fried & didn't need any dipping sauce. I had about 4-5 pieces of fish, which I dipped into some hot sauce (the fish was also nicely fried). They had a wide option of drinks & I went with the Arnold Palmer. It was so good. The sweet was very subtle & the tang from the lemonade doesn't overpower. The lady who took my order was super nice & was nice to the other people who started rolling in. I think their lunch rush might be around 12:30. The only downside was the wait time it took over 30 minutes for our food to come out (5/10), which felt a bit long. 3.5 Went to Ted's a few weeks ago. Ordered a fish sandwich and wanted fries with it. Right before I ordered the young lady put a fry in her mouth & said can I help you. Things like that are a turnoff for me so I got okra. Food was okay - okra too greasy and too much tartar sauce on sandwich. Only ate 1/4 of meal . Lemonade was good . After I paid The offered me a sample. It was so good I had to order more and leave an extra tip. The inside dining area is small, the music is loud, the air conditioner is cold, it is spotless clean (including the restroom) and the folks that work there are very friendly! There is a drive through order window up front, customer parking is a little congested. [4.4 rating on Google with over 770 reviews] So, for $21.50 (not including tax) we got two 1/3lb deluxe Charburgers, Fries and a Drink. That is a price that is competitive with any burger dive in town. I liked everything about Ted's. What got me in the door was the fries. Ted's are different. Whole fresh potatoes (hides and all) are cut up in size just like regular fries, then dusted with flour, salt and pepper. Next a bath in hot fresh oil until the perfect level of crispness is obtained. The cook gets them right. These are basically Jo Jo sticks instead of Jo Jo wedges. They probably taste odd to people who have never eaten a potato skin in their life. Fresh coated fries, hide and all; I loved 'em. Our burgers were big 1/3lb Charburgers without the Hickory Sauce, but with all the fixin's found on the Burger Deluxe L,T,P,O&M (no mayo, no ketchup) My explanation of how I wanted the burgers was far more complicated than necessary. The very nice patient lady at the counter figured it out. We got burgers exactly as we ordered them. She told me how to order next time (in diner language) to make it simpler. As we were enjoying our burgers, the nice lady that took our order came out to the dining area. "Have you tried our catfish" she asked? "Nope, my first time here." She offered me and my wife a sampling of the catfish, fresh from the fryer. Oh! Wow! It was good. Ted's Hamburgers is more than just burgers. That fact duly noted and stored in memory. I'm so happy this restaurant opened back up. The storefront is small, and the intimate atmosphere quickly fills up during peak hours. OMG! I could not miss this opportunity to pay much respect to the owner, the late Ted and his son, Jim! Back in the day Ted's served up the very best juicy burgers in town. By the acquaintances you can see that I've been a fan since the 70s. Nothing fancy, just a friendly atmosphere for food to go mostly. Limited seats to sit and wait for order or a desk top to eat a quick bite. Ted's served the Gilcrease Hills and Skyline Additions as well as Sand Springs travelers. The lunch and dinner crowds were just far reaching. Ted's was more than just a name;Ted himself was always in the kitchen cooking it up and calling customers by name. After his passing his son, Jim, took over with the same good food and service. Since Jim's passing the dedicated employees seem to carry on in their names and I wish them continued success. I don't get by there as often these days since my family is grown and gone, but when I do, it's delicious memories! Without a doubt, I would recommend this NW Tulsa staple. read more

it's open again under new management, they said they are using the same recipes. That's not true. French fries are completely different. Taco salad is totally different. This burger joint is probably hands down the best place to get a burger in Tulsa! We have been coming here for burgers for decades and we have never been disappointed. Its a extremely small place. Youre sitting in classic school desks for a table. Or you can use the drive thru, call in a order to go or just take your order to go! Its clean and classic. Friendly and fast service. We no longer live in Tulsa, but we come here every time we visit. The burgers in my pictures dont Look like much but they're so full of flavor and not dry!! We both got milk shakes, chocolate and strawberry. And we both got fries even though you can get onion rings or tots! Ted's is a great old fashioned locally owned burger place. They've been in business for decades for a reason. Ted's features reasonably priced food that's quickly made when you order. I recommend the curly fries as well as a shake or malt. I been living on the western most part of Edison Street for several months and always saw this little shack with lots of ppl during lunch hour there. Decided to stop by and ordered a double cheeseburger w/o onions, mayo&mustard, and dang I was surprised how delicious it was! Just a good ol fashion burger! The fries may need fresh oil, they seemed a little too crisp but I'll give those a second chance next time. I'll definitely stop by again after I run a marathon to burn some calories. lol.
