"Tasty Thai, It's Worth the Try" After a relaxing massage, we were looking for a late-night spot and ended up at Tasty Thai Restaurant in Tempe--such a good choice. The place is small, but the flavors are big. The Pad Thai was flavorful and honestly brought back memories of the authentic Pad Thai I had in Thailand years ago. Located close by the ASU campus, I can see why it's a hit amongst Sun Devils. Pad Thai is my noodly obsession. After a fun-filled evening full of art and ice cream, we popped in purely by accident. We were actually about to go to the nearby sports bar but we had seen the glowing neon of Thai food being advertised. After a quick coin flip, being disappointed in our result, the four of us made the short walk over. Inside was warmth, Christmas trees, and friendly faces. Two of us ordered pad thai and the other two ordered massaman curry. At medium spice, we all found it to be light-handed on spice. Even the hot wasn't that spicy. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to try their Thai Hot so a note to myself, get the spice level at hot. You can't find love in a bowl of curry unless it's a little bit spicy! I used to be a fan, but after eating some delicious food on a chilly late night, I'm a whole air conditioner. The food is good, the portions are great, and the prices are reasonable. The interior is cozy with seating for about 30. The menu was a mix of classic Thai dishes (pad Thai, larb, papaya salad) and Americanized dishes (orange chicken, egg rolls...) We ordered multiple curries, pad Thai, pad see ew, pineapple fried rice, basil chicken, most at medium spice. The place lives up to the name. All the food was tasty and medium spice was plenty to get my mouth burning, but in a good way. If you're in the area I'd check this place out. read more

Doesn't taste like any hot and sour soup I've ever had. So sour, worst soup I've ever tasted! There were tomato's in it!? Some inedible additions such as a chunk of ginger and possibly an uncooked artichoke? Some of the chicken just tasted of siracha when you weren't getting the sour flavor. Ordered medium and there was no spice besides siracha chicken. Paid Thai was good and a big portion, no complaints. They apparently updated their menu and pricing, appetizers for $11 is pretty crazy. I'm actually shocked at the rating but maybe I just have different standards from visiting from the west coast. Ordered a no ice Thai tea which is somehow super bland and watery. I loved my spicy cashew with tofu which was extra Thai hot and just how I wanted it. The service is great but beware of the spice levels. If you can't handle spice it's better to stick to mild as they don't change the dish or offer to make you a fresh one. Rest it's all good but the service needs some improvement. Husband and I are in town for a remote family reunion and we decided to arrive a day early to settle in. We have to pick everyone up from the airport tomorrow so we picked a nearby hotel. We tried this new thai restaurant as delivery through Uber Eats. We ordered pad thai (as always) with tender beef. We asked for thai spicy, left a note for thai spicy, and they really delivered! This stuff is hot!! Good mix of meat and noodles, peanuts were on the side. We also got the calamari "rings", which came as calamari sticks but OMG they were delicious! This was place is a no frills straightforward restaurant. The woman at the front was kind and patient with all my questions. I settled on Panang curry which was delicious. It was packaged piping hot and even getting to my accommodations 15-20 minutes later it was still scolding. The curry was creamy and tasty. I've had better and the price was STEEP. $23. Tasty thai is a small location in off broadway and roosevelt street and does a pretty good job for thai food. I really enjoy thai curry which they have a good range of curry choices. They even have a pretty good dessert menu which I would of loved to try. What brought my attention here is the curry noodles aka Khao Soi Noodles. This is one of my favorite dishes and I really was excited to try it out for lunch. My thing about the curry noodles is I really enjoy a thicker curry and noodle which I feel wasn't the case with this dish. It was a little more on the thinner side of curry which a thin noodle. The taste was there but I felt that was what I was looking for. Still a good dish but was hoping for that type of curry noodle dish. For the price for lunch and size of the dish, it's a pretty filling meal. Overall I enjoyed the restaurant which had good service, good sized menu and the dish I had was good but nothing over the top. I haven't been in here in years and was close by and decided to see if it was still open. I was so excited to see that it is still open! This is the best Thai lunch special you can get. It comes with soup, salad and spring roll. Most places your lucky if you get a spring roll. I feel like their spring rolls and sauce are also the best in town and I love their pepper dressing for their salad. I have driven by this place so many times, but it is such a small place for some reason I kept thinking "it can't be that good if it's that small". Oh jeezy Pete was I ever wrong. IT WAS AWESOME! The food (taste & temperature), the ambience, the serving sizes. It was all fantastic. Short review: if you're looking for great food, check out Tasty Thai. Long review: we arrived for an early Saturday dinner, shortly after 3:00 pm. The parking lot was empty, the restaurant itself was empty. Bad sign? No, we were just lucky to have the entire place to ourselves. Sometimes being older has it perks, and dining earlier than everyone else is one of them. :-) We were greeted and seated immediately (why wouldn't we be, right?) by who I now know must have been the owner (Robert). He was very obsequious and friendly, delivering glasses of water immediately. We cannot go to a Thai restaurant w/o ordering Thai tea; what was delivered was two large glasses (I think they were chilled glasses) of such a delicious flavor my mouth is watering just thinking about it. They need to sell pitchers of the stuff. Robert was very courteous & patient as we looked over the menu. NOTE: the online menu is puny & does not remotely come close to advertising their full menu. My pics include the front & back of their extensive menu. We ordered a few appetizers (crab wontons, tofu sa-say, Thai fresh rolls), then continued to peruse the menu, trying desperately to choose our respective meals - it was too damn hard because there was so much to choose from and it all sounded mouth-watering good. The appetizers came out one at a time, but quickly, and were plated beautifully. Our meals were the Crispy Chicken and Pumpkin Curry (w/ pork). The curry was noted as spicy but the cook was able to tone it down a bit for my wimpy taste palette. The portions were large (just as Robert claimed) & were steaming hot. I think you can see the steam in my Pumpkin Curry picture. The rice portions seemed smaller than I am used to but my sister said hers was proportionate to the chicken; maybe because mine was more soupy I felt it could have used more rice but regardless, both dishes were divine. Just typing this review is making me hungry and thankful we have leftovers. Similar to my sentiments about ordering Thai tea, it has become impossible for me to visit a Thai restaurant w/o ordering a dessert of sticky rice. We ordered two varieties: one w/ custard, one w/ mango. They came out hot, in gorgeous dishes, and both tasted spectacular. We forced ourselves to save some for leftovers but let me tell you, we scraped those bowls clean! I swear, if I wasn't afraid Robert would pop around the corner to clean off our table, I would have licked the bowl clean. Just kidding. Let me start by saying I normally don't write reviews. But this place was so good, I have to share. My friend and I stopped here on a Monday at around 9:30pm. Finding a good place that's open after 9pm is a hard find, especially when trying to find different cuisines outside of Mexican. It's a small hole in the wall but they've created a peaceful little setting. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly and had the sweetest demeanor :) The food was DELICIOUS! We got chicken satay and potstickers to start. That cucumber sauce on the satay was very fresh and flavorful and I'm not even a fan of cucumbers! The pot stickers were nice and crispy, juicy, just umami goodness. I can't remember what my friend got but I ordered the drunken noodles. The portions are a wonderful size for the price. These noodles were so good and even better the next day, which I didn't know was possible. It was so d@mn succulent and delectable that I was mad finishing my leftovers the next day and immediately wanted to give them more of my money. Needless to say, I found my new Thai spot and I'll definitely be back! read more

I ordered a crispy chicken dish. When I got my meal, the vegetables were not steamed at all. They look and tasted like they were just sitting out in room temperature. And the chicken was not tender or crispy at all. You would think it would taste like traditional orange chicken but absolutely not. When I asked to exchange my meal, the server said he can't do that because he would "lose the money" for the order. He came around and took a piece of chicken to examine it WITHOUT my consent. I have eaten here three times; and this last experience will make it my last. I ordered pad Thai with chicken. The dish is supposed to come with a protein; they then charged me extra for it. I asked for mild and it was not mild, it was hot as hell (keep in mind that I like spicy food). The little shards of chicken were so dry that they were unedible. I'm a little confused as the menu states the Num Tok as sliced beef with spicy lime etc and served with cabbage. I love this dish. I got dry ground/chopped beef over lettuce. *sigh* I also ordered ginger chicken which is fine. The sauce is sweeter/heavier than my preference, but that's a matter of personal taste.
