Bought a used tire from them that seemed like a great deal at the time. I called, told them what I was looking for, they said one, to come on by told and they would throw it on there for me. I said awesome and asked how much it'd be, he told me $20. When I got there I told them who I was, he asked for the keys and as I was walking back to my car with the manager he proceeded to then tell me as he was getting into my car, "Oh by the way there will be a $15 install fee also", now making the actual cost $35 instead of the original $20 he had quoted me on the phone. Since I was already there and I had already been riding on the spare for a day now I said that would be fine. after about a week of having the tire it started slowly losing air about 10-12 every 2-3 days or so. So for while I would just air up with my portable air pump, thinking at first it most be from putting nitrogen in it instead of air and since we had just started seeing cold weather it was just fluctuating on those really cold nights. After this happened several times by this point and I was certain that I now had replaced all possible nitrogen with air I started to look for a leak. after a closer look I noticed that it was leaking from the schrader valve. So I went back up there and while seeming a little irritated, he went ahead and replaced it for me at no cost. I had thought that had finally took care of the issue, but then, low and behold, the very next morning it down to about 21psi. I checked the schrader and didn't hear any air leaking from it nor could it hear it leaking from anywhere else. Determined to figure out where it was leaking from I started springing around the tire with Windex after I got off work that afternoon. Took me a while, but finally saw some bubbles on the inside edge of the tread. So, when I had time after church later that night, I grabbed a kid from the youth and asked him to help me plug the tire real quick. thinking that I must've run over a nail at some point and grab some pliers and got underneath it to try to pull out the nail before plugging it. We quickly noticed that it was not actually a nail but a plug that had been put there prior to me purchasing it. A little irritated that he had sold me a plugged tire without disclosing it to me. I began to dig it out so I could replug it. Not taking too long I had plugged it, and thought we were good to go, started to air it up again, and notice it leaking even worse than it was before. That's when I noticed a much bigger hole right above the leaking plug I just had removed from a much larger hole that have been plugged as well that I must've dislodge while trying to remove the first plug where it was originally leaking from. This new hole, only a few millimeters from the one plug, was much larger than the first one I noticed. And after an hour, and 30 minutes later, two plugs put side-by-side, and a whole can of fix a flat, and a whole lot of rubber cement I finally was able to stop this newly discovered second hole from leaking. So fairly and rightfully frustrated about the situation I went back up to the shop a day later when I was done working for the week. I told him the situation and what had happened, to which that point he looked at me and said in a very condescending and standoffish way "well didn't you pick out the tire?", while his left eye started to do this awkward and weird twitching thing. Keeping my cool I reminded him that I did not actually pick out the tire myself, and that he had already pulled one for me and installed it sight unseen. He then stared at me for a second. And began to tell me that most the time we have the customer pick out the used tire they want but that either way it's a gamble in a crapshoot going with one. I said I thought I understood and asked him that if he had another one to swap it out with that would be fine and consider the problem taken care of. He said sure, got the measurements, and said he would go look to see if they had one in the back. Then, after about 10 to 15 minutes he returned and what do you suppose he said... "nope don't have any in that size right now and that there was nothing he could do about it at that time. He did offer to try to repair it, but since it was no longer leaking at this time, because I had already done a extensive plug job on it the night before that it wouldn't be necessary And asked, what can we do with this point. He then proceeded to tell me about some other shops down the road that also carry used tires, and that they might have one I could purchase from them. Not really knowing how to respond to that. I said you know it's only going to be another couple months before I am going to put new tires on it anyways so if you happen to remember me, I would come back to purchase a set from him if he would possibly cut me some kind of deal then... won't be back read more

Tate Bros put a lift and tires on my 4Runner. 1st: They did not have the black lug nuts for my black rims and said they would have to get if from the manufacture... Which is fine, I'm a patient and understanding customer. However, over a year later and I still do not have the black lug nuts and I have called several times throughout the year to follow up. 2nd: As soon as I left the shop I noticed my steering wheel shaking like the tires weren't balanced or something. I took it back to the shop right then thinking a wheel weight may have just fallen off or something and that kindly "fixed" the problem for me. A few months later when I took my truck to the dealership for a regular service and tire rotation the shaking started again. The dealership checked the problem for me and said that it was a bad tire causing the shaking and the shop that installed the tire should replace it with a good tire. I explained the scenario of when I first had the tires put on and was told that the shop may have just rotated the tires to the back in hopes that the tire would correct itself. I contacted Tate Bros and they had me bring the vehicle back. I made sure to mark the tires so I could tell if they have been rotated back or not. When I dropped my vehicle off with Tate Bros again I specifically informed them that I just had the tires rotated and didn't want them to rotate them. They waited until the end of the day to call and let me know my vehicle was ready and that the tires were rotated, I told them I didn't want them rotated and that they needed to rotate them back. I wasn't able to pick my vehicle up until after the shop closed, checked the marks, and sure enough they had just rotated the bad tire to the back again. Their customer service is horrible!! I will never go back and tell everyone I know looking for rims and tires not to use them. Now I have to buy a new tire to replace a new but faulty tire that they put on my vehicle and black lugs that were supposed to come with the rims. read more

The company: Tate Brothers (located at located at 7825 US Highway 51 N, Millington, TN) has installed and completed several modifications to my truck such as a lift kit, tires and sway bars. On Friday 30 June 2023 at 1120hrs. Tate brothers completed and installation of an upgraded sway bar. Upon returning the vehicle to me I noticed that my truck did not look the same as when I dropped it off. My driver side fender was bent to the point of it being noticed. I quickly went inside to pay for the work being done and I've advised the lady at the front counter that my truck has been damaged. I then talked with the guy that worked on my truck and he apologized for the damage and advised me to take a picture and send it to his boss so that it can be fixed. I have Lamborghini doors on my truck and I've communicated several times to the company "Tate Brothers" that I have Lamborghini doors on my truck. I've educated them on how to open and close my doors if they want to enter and exit the vehicle. The manager for "Tate Brothers" stated that they have a body shop that they are contracted with that can fix the fender at no cost to me. I've asked how long would it take for it to get fixed due to my truck being used for business. They did not have a timeline on how long it would take. I've asked if I could have a loaner truck from the company "Tate Brothers" until my truck is finished and they were not able to honor it. I've asked if I could have a discount on the work that was done to my truck that day and they would not honor it. I've called and I've asked several times when can I bring my truck in and have it back in a reasonable amount of days (2-3days) and received a response one time stating that they need it for an entire week for it to be fixed based on the work load of their contracted company that handles body work. I asked if I could take it to a body shop that is in my area of town and bring them the receipt upon completion and have the company "Tate Brothers" refund me the difference back to my card. They declined. It is now 18 October 2023 (about four months) and I have not been told that I can bring my truck in and have it ready in a reasonable time. At this point I've at least could have been scheduled way in advance to where my truck can be dropped off in the morning time and worked on that same day, painted the next day and returned to me that same day or the next totaling 2 days and a half. I've stated to the company "Tate Brothers" that I will hold off on writing a review to give them time to fix the issue. I've waited long enough and decided that the company "Tate Brothers" deserves this review. read more

I took my car to have a rotate and balance at Tate Brother's in Millington, TN. Car shakes after. Get told I have aluminum wheels and need new ones. I got new wheels and tires. Talk to several other mechanics who say I did not have aluminum wheels. Confront salesperson who stated I had aluminum wheels & get told he never said that. I have now spent over $500 there. If I could give zero stars, I would. Tate Bros is a pathetic place to even call a business. Had my truck in because the heat didn't blow warm. They had my truck for about 10 hours and when I picked it up, the heat still didn't work after paying them. I took it back the next day, the blonde lady up front was horribly rude about why I was back. I asked for Logan, the owner, to call me when he got in. She said she'd let him know to call me. Well, I never got a call from Logan, went to get my truck after another 10 hours at the shop and guess what they said the heat worked.. it didn't. Actually nothing on my dash worked this time I couldn't push any of my buttons. So I called the next morning to speak with the owner, Logan. Yet again, the girl "took my message". Never was called back. Fast forward.. 5 days in a row I called for Logan and HAVE YET TO HEAR BACK!! I had to take my truck elsewhere to get my heat fixed because it's been 20 degrees out and this mechanic shop found that the thermostat Tate Bros put in was BROKEN and the control panel connected to my dash was completely broken too.. hmm Tate Bros had no reason to be close to the control panel while replacing the thermostat. I called the next day to speak with Logan and still no call back. Tate Bros is not quality work. Tate Bros is not a quality business. If you want good honest work, stay away from Tate Bros in Millington TN. read more
