Living in Denver for eight years I became quite a fan of the Tattered Cover. This is a terrific chain of independent book stores which has grown over the years and now includes at least two satellite locations at Denver International Airport. Don't go in expecting anything like the LoDo location (make sure to visit if you have not been) or the old Cherry Creek or new Colfax stores. It's also not huge. But, they have a reasonable selection of New and Bestselling books and a decent selection of Periodicals. They also have about 10 additional shelves of different genres. Not bad for an airport bookstore - and I'll be honest, Concourse C at DIA used to be a pretty desolate place. This was a welcome addition in my book. (... eh? eh?) I fly into Denver at least a time or two a year, but I pass through on Southwest at least as much. Delays happen when the airports involved are DIA, SFO and Minneapolis-St. Paul. I always feel like DIA is a bit of a mini-vacation. Tattered Cover, even in a very much scaled back format, brings back good memories of my time in Denver. Two last notes: They also have a few kids toys if you're on the way to see nieces or nephews (check). And, they have a handful of grab-and-go food items if you're in a hurry and don't want to make two stops.

I love this bookstore. Or at least the original, which I visited for the first time about 30 years ago. This is a tiny version of the original but it has the same feel as what I remember. It's a real bookstore in an airport. I didn't have time to browse too long. But the selection is great for an airport. Don't miss out on these stores.

The owner herself, Miss Risa was taking care of creating this unique culinary experience. The first service we chose a peach oolong. This was served with a green salad and broccoli quiche. Wonderful! I cannot tell you what the salad was dressed with, but the flavors!!!! The quiche was absolutely perfect from crust to cheesy top. Second service was Yellow submarine. This refreshing chamomile was infused with dried pineapple and mango. The first cup was good, but the second was delightful. The fruit had time to meld with the chamomile and created an epic infusion. The third service was a Moroccan mint. This was just as wonderful as you would expect. We were served an open face curry egg salad and a homemade fermented cucumber on a seasoned cream cheese. The flavors were wonderful. The sweet serving was a blueberry scone with Lemmon curd, apple cake and macrons. Service was top notch, the owner came over to chat with us. We even had a chance to spend time with one of the guides from the local Black History Museum. This was a delightful end to our amazing day! Thank you for the hospitality

What a cute tea house!…read more We accidentally stumbled across this place as we were heading north of downtown, looking for a place to satisfy our thirst from being in the summer sun, our throats parched from walking 16th mall and strolling in museums. As we came in we were greeted right away and sat at the table by the window where there sat many cool antique teapots. We were instantly wrapped by the coziness and ordered a pot of the Ginger Peach Rooibos. As we waited for the freshly craft to brew, we bopped and grooved to the beats of soulful R&B vibing the space. So chill, so peaceful, so relaxing. When we got our pot of tea, we got a little stand with a candle that kept the pot warm allowing us to take our time sipping on tea. We opt for honey with our tea which went really well with the ginger peach tea. It was so good, we ordered a cold version to go. Lovely place with lovely tea!

When you walk in, it's full of gorgeous decor and plenty of plants, true to their namesake. There is a lot of places for people to come in and take photos, read, buy books, and enjoy the atmosphere. In the lobby, there is complementary sparkling waters, which I thought was really great as I took my time shifting through the different books. The selection was pretty good. There were a lot of books that were "hot" right now on social media, as well as ones that were hidden gems that you may not have heard of. The price was equal to what you'd pay at a big book store chairs (so why not support local!). They also have a selection of used books that are greatly discounted. The person that was working when I went in, was very kind and gave us some recommendations, and also talk to us about our day. I found out that they host quite a bit of community writing events as well, which was so cool to learn!
