Now when you look at the artwork that's been created by the artists who work with Don at Nickel City , it's always amazing. They all have their own unique styles and if you allow them to use their gift , you will have a one of a kind piece of art. But they are , by nature of their jobs , able to create what you envision for yourself. Just looking at the artists themselves and the work they have done on each other always makes me think " ooohhhh I want one like that too! " The shop was built by Don, and each artists space reveals a little something about artist that it belongs to. Every customer is loyal to their artist so I will tell you about Heidi. When you start on the journey into the world of tattoo art, many of us make mistakes because we have no clue how to find a good artist. In fact we have no clue about much of anything. It's a learning curve that you live with for the rest of your life. If you're lucky and you find someone like Heidi, the pain of that lesson can be buffered by her ability to make something beautiful out of that mistake. For me, I had a vision for my wrist that Heidi turned into a wreath of birds and flowers. From that point on I entrusted my skin and developed a unique relationship and friendship with Heidi. While in Buffalo, I was planning on a memory. When I look at artwork of an artist on a person (tattoo) I am asking questions. Rick at Anchor Bar had some beautiful art on a sleeve. I asked for a referral, Hydi at Don's Nickel City, in Buffalo. I called to ask for an open spot. With all the crazy times of clouser to now opening, it's hard at best to get an opening. I mentioned Rick at Anchor Bar was the referral. I lied and told hydi that Rick would work her garden for life. Got an appointment, sorry Rick.   The place was super clean and following Como rules. I went and saw heidi! She started my sleeve and my first arm tattoo! I showed her some references of what I wanted, I told her I was covering a suicide scar that I wanted gone so basically I told her I want this so it's something I can look at and not think of the bad but the strength and beauty. She is so personable and made me so comfortable! Honestly one of the best tattoo experiences I've ever had! Heidi was rude and had a very ugly approach to me and my roomate who came in to get tattoos by a different artist, she had mopped over my my roomates feet, laughed in my face when I said i could not hear her and when i asked her to explain something on paperwork she kicked me out of the shop. She ruined the experience and cost her fellow artist a customer. congrats heidi. read more
