I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that not only is my tattoo pretty awful, but the way I was treated by the owner Mark was shocking. my tattooist (i cannot say artist) was Cat. she was pleasant while doing my tattoo and did tell me that touch ups were free. however there are so many technical errors in my tattoo and the fact it is plain old ugly, I was not comfortable with her doing anymore work on me. I gave the tattoo a couple of weeks to heal and at that time called the shop to express my concerns. i requested to speak with the owner and was told he would get back to me in next day or two. I waited four days and called back, after a little back n forth I was able to speak with Mark and again expressed that I wasn't comfortable with Cat doing my rework, he requested I come into the shop. I went into shop the following day to meet with Mark. he promptly informed Cat would be reworking my tattoo, I told him I would go elsewhere but that if that's how he wants his business representEd I would write honest reviews. mark proceeded to yell and curse at me, telling me I was threatening him and that I hurt his daughters feelings as Cat it turns out is his daughter. I have gone to two tattoo artists who were appalled at the state of my tattoo. Most glaring mistake is that her face n arm are black but leg is white, totally unable to read the words in the leg, also the coverup is totally visible. read more

My husband and I came in to get tattoos from Krista Reid last Saturday. We were initially interested in Krista because she makes a point to use all vegan inks and we liked her portfolio of work we saw online. I was getting a larger arm piece done and my husband was having two smaller pieces done. My piece was something I had sketched out an idea of and sent to Krista for her to put into her own artistic vision. I was also hoping to have it done as a cover up piece for a smaller tattoo I had done years ago at another shop in California. I loved Krista's rendering of my idea and the piece turned out fantastically, including the cover up I was hoping to achieve. My husband and I both had a great time talking with Krista: she was warm and friendly. My husband liked how his pieces turned out as well. Her color work and fine lines were especially fantastic. Thank God I have found a place that is clean, welcoming and has the most amazing realism tattoo artist that is available without a eight month wait! I was so happy with the price, and Butters the artist at this shop that did my recent work was an amazing human being with experiences that has made him a person that is versatile, creative but yet very humble about how good he actually is. Very disappointed. Came here on a whim from reading the other review. Walked in and saw someone talking to a customer about a tattoo. He looked at us and didnt say a word. While we stood there people in the next room looked at us and also didnt say a word. We waited a good ten minuets before leaving. Not even a hello. Felt very unwelcome. read more

This shop has an artist, Kris Grimmer working for them. He started a large tattoo on me, which I paid off, but he now refuses to finish it. He has ignored my requests to have it finished for 6 months. If you want a professional to do your tattoo, DO NOT go to Kris Grimmer. read more

AVOID MARK AT ALL COSTS! Unless you want to be super disappointed, request someone else. I'm sure the shop is very nice, just put your tattoo in someone else's hands. Here's why: As Mark did my husband's first tattoo probably 6+ years ago, he wanted to go back to him. So, we found him. As a Christmas gift for my husband, I got a hold of Mark (after several attempts) to make an appointment for him to get his second tattoo. I was finally able to make an appointment with him 5 weeks in advance for January 9th at 1 pm. I let him know that it was a Christmas gift, and was therefore very special. I let my husband know ahead of time so he could work on a design. He sent Mark several pictures and asked him to draw something up ahead of time to show him, as well as give a price so he can bring cash. Mark pretty much blew him off and said he'd show him something day of (no price given). My husband is a very patient and kind individual so he said ok. So the day of comes. My husband arrives at 12:45 for a 1 pm appointment. Mark had someone in the chair, so he figured he would be going soon after. He waits until 1:45 pm, even the owner acknowledges that he's there for Mark. Nothing. 2:30 rolls around. Still nothing from Mark. FINALLY my husband gets up at 3:15 pm and asks begrudgingly he if he should reschedule. Mark's response was, and I quote: "Dude, I didn't even know you were here for me. My computer broke. (My husband explains who he is and hes here because his wife made an appt 5 weeks ago and hes been texting back and fourth with him). Oh! OK. What are we doing again??" Christmas present ruined. This shop has the best group of tattoo artists in Western New York! I've been getting tattooed by Mark since 2008, and I still travel to conventions to get inked by him. This is the cleanest, most down to earth shop in town, and all of the artists there are incredibly talented. (Mark does some killer freehand, and Butters does crazy colour work!) Holy Ground is frequented by famous guest artists, and the place has an all-around great vibe. read more

When I moved to buffalo in 2009 I was very hesitant looking for a new artist. I found mark before owned HG and he did some amazing work on me and still does. I'm a little shocked that no one has given any more reviews on this shop. I can tell you from experience... I've been here MANY times and it has never been a bad time. The guys here are funny and joke around with clients all the time but are professional when it comes to tattoos. I have had work done by both Josh and Jake Anderson. Josh is such a talented artist. He did a tattoo over my entire forearm and it was only $60. Now Jake on the other hand is my main artist. I have gone to him for years now and I wouldn't change that. Jake is very professional, a great artist, and is all about pleasing the customer. Not to mention, he won't rip you off. Sadly he is not at this shop anymore. There is also a newer artist named Zach Grimm. I have not had the pleasure of being tattooed by him yet, but I can't wait for the chance. If you are into traditional style... hes your go to guy. I know how hard it is to find a place you can trust for good work, but this place will easily exceed your expectations. read more

Holy Ground Tattoo Mark Sinsel so after I posted this mark called me to smooth shit over N apologize N offer to finish work for last 2 weeks I told him when I'd be in town to get work done via fb messages N calling N texting his cell all to be ignored so I go N call the shop N ask to speak to him they asked who I am told him then hung up on me I'm owed on 3 half sleeves (lower left arm and both lower legs) all paid in full except 100 ilom a leg sleeve I owe close to 2 grand in money paid to him and work ge refuses to finish after I was done fully paying him for them he is great artist but really has no respect for someone who has llpaid him for work N supported him N sent him many of many customers all starting even before he had his own shop N was at shamus in south buffalo N this is how he treats one of his used to be most loyal customers N pretended to be willing to fix all these problems if I deleted my bad review which I told him I would once he made shit right haven't had work done by him in nearly 2 years now even thou I'm owed work and when I did pay for lower arm sleeve he had still owed me work from about 3 years prior to that N said he would finish those after finishing new tattoo I was currently payin for at that time so yes some tattoos have been paid for well over 5 years now with absolutely no recent work to them he is definitely a great artist but nobody is worth bein treated this way by especially someone who supported him when he was on the bottom of the game shuts swag as fuck read more
