I went with my brother to get a matching tattoo, a first tattoo experience for both of us, and though the shop is small the artists are incredibly attentive to the cleanliness of the store. I couldn't be happier with the overall experience and attention to detail Ricardo had when he saw us. He was easy to talk to and made it clear that we can drop back in the shop any time if we felt there was something off with the tattoo or if we needed a touch up while it healed. If you're looking for tattoo artists in Newark be sure to check out their portfolio!

A little disappointed with the pricing of the tattoo I got here on my ring finger but other than that it's a nice little place.

The tattoo on the left cost $160 at a downtown jersey city tattoo shop that's known to be expensive. For the ring tattoo to be $80 idk. That's disappointing. I have 8 tattoos. One bigger than the ring finger tattoo that cost me $50 but it is what it is. Other than that it's a nice little place. In my opinion, I think I'll stick to the shop in downtown Jersey city.

This is the little tattoo on my finger the guy charge me $85 for no bigger than 2 inches

My girlfriend took me here apparently she's friends with the guy. And don't get me wrong he seems cool he was a nice guy but to be honest after I left I kind of felt ripped off as you can see the tattoo on my hand is way bigger than the one on my finger and that only cost me $40 to get at another place. Now yes I should have asked for the price I agree but I have been to many tattoo shops before and I have a good idea in my head on like the estimate On what a tattoo should cost by the size and the ink and what it should be. So there's literally no way I thought it was going to be as much as he said.but by the time I was done Which by the way only took 10-15 minutes at most. he Charged me $85 for that little ass tattoo you see on my finger I really felt ripped off. Lesson learned Other than that I guess it was a great experience the shop was clean like I said everyone was friendly conversation was good but I just hate feeling like I was robbed at the end of any transaction but it is what it is. According to my girlfriend apparently he does really good work so I personally won't be going back but to each his own

I called to ask what the shop minimum was. I was put on hold and then hung up on without explanation.

I would also like to say that along with Miguel the other staff members that were there were so friendly and professional.

This place had a promotion over Friday the 13th weekend for both tattoos and piercings. I went in…read morefor a piercing and a friend for a tattoo and per their instagram post, the piercings were $25. They had a maximum of 4 piercings but no minimums. When I asked for the total they wanted to charge $50 total for one (not including their mandatory tip) and then when confronted about their instagram post and their rules - they said that's how they've been operating this weekend. Misleading and upsetting. Besides placing a "mandatory" tip, this leaves a bad taste in your mouth and makes you not want to come back ever again. If it's mandatory... it's not a tip. The whole concept of a tip is based off of the piercer's performance. I ended up getting another to meet the "minimum" to attain the piercing at the advertised price ($25) but the piercer, Hosco, was already acting differently (negatively) once called out with his boss regarding the pricing and their post. (Attaching said post, which is now deleted, here.) Something that was supposed to be fun turned into feeling like you got scammed. $25 for both, $50. Then the "mandatory" tip of $7 for both, $14. Total of $64. Oh and if you don't leave a tip in addition the mandatory tip, you get stink eye. Don't even get me started on the up charge on tattoos and ink versus colored ink. This place is dishonest, the management is not well versed in English (not a problem, but he forgets that other people can understand Spanish and his conversations about upcharging customers are understood by Spanish speakers). The piercer, Hosco Mod (@hoscotattoo), helps conflate review ratings by leaving a 5 star rating for his own services...very shady business practices!

After my first, I've been perusing what would be the best style for my second (I really wanted to get a tattoo dedicated to my cat, Matcha). I instantly fell in love and as fate has it, there was an inspo photo of an omamori with jiji (from kiki's) and cherry blossoms that hit my instagram. Instantly, I knew that this is the style I would like so I messaged Yeonnie and she responded quick. She will do the sketch a day before your appointment (you'll get a cute sketch by midday) and you can request any changes. I absolutely adored the edition of my cartooni-fied cat. Now that I have it on my upper left arm, I am so happy to have a few of the things I personally love forever on my body. Thank you :) I definitely would recommend her. She's quick so the painful moments does not last as long. highly recommend!!

I wanted a tattoo that covered my wrist surgery, captured who I am (The Sunflower...happiness, optimism, honesty, longevity, peace, admiration, and devotion), the life of my family (Butterflies...my hubby, son, & myself; also symbolizes Father God, Jesus Christ, & Holy Spirit). I also wanted a permanent wedding band. Jessa DID IT! It started with the consultation that I easily scheduled online. Then I met with her and her beautiful assistant Ashley to talk, review my ideas, and come up with the plan. It was also my 1st tattoo EVER so I had a lot of questions. They took good care of me during the consultation which left me feeling comfortable with moving forward. Today I went in for the work AND I couldn't be happier. Our time together was wonderful. Jessa is very loving and caring. She also has the BEST laugh! I honestly felt like I was hanging out with friends. Jessa and her hubby Juan own the shop and they have an amazing team. Getting a permanent tattoo for the 1st time at the age of 48 is not an easy decision but I'm SO SO thankful I choose to do it at Gallery of Ink. PERCENT recommend this business‼
