I'd gone with a Viking symbol. My artist was Cokie, I'm sure I'm spelling his name wrong, but he was nice enough to do my tattoo bc of a miscommunication w/ Yuki another artist. I had to return later same day bc he had another customer who was doing a lot of work & bc of my busy weekly schedule I didn't mine coming bk later. I was sooo happy they accommodated me. I'm showing u how professional they are. U get more bees w/ honey than vinegar. So, be nice & im sure they'll try their best to help u with your tattoo design. I saw the results of other customers walking around & I was Impressed by their work, very sophisticated bodywork of art. If u can articulate, a design they'll bring it to fruition. I regret the day I ever walked in here. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE TO INK YOU FOR LIFE. TL;DR: They messed up my tattoo and admitted it, they're refusing to help me with recourse, and I'm having panic attacks living with this terrible artwork on my body. The Full Story: I got set up with an artist who was sold to me as "someone who specializes in fine line work." I went through their instagram, and their work looked great. The quote was overpriced, but I was willing to pay more for someone skilled. Not only is the line work itself incredibly shoddy, the artist did not follow the stencil and made some mistakes that make the tattoo look extremely amateur. I reached out to the studio with photos - they admitted it was "not up to their usual standard of work." I now have to go through the extremely painful process of laser removal, which is going to cost close to $2,000 and take YEARS with no actual guarantee it'll ever be fully gone. Inked's pitiful response (I was dealing with Banna, who told me repeatedly that they "had my back") was to offer me less than 1/10 of what this experience is going to cost me in total and to return for a fix-up. Why on EARTH would I ever trust these people near me with a tattoo gun again? This has been one of the worst experiences of my life. The feeling of living with someone else's mistake permanently on your body is literal hell, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Inked can't help with the time and the pain they're causing me, but the least they could do is assume the financial responsibility for what it'll cost to rectify their screw-up. They refuse. I don't like writing scathing reviews, but if this can prevent at least one person from going through what I'm going through, it's a no-brainer. Learn from my colossal mistake - if you want high-quality work, or at least a studio that'll actually "have your back," go somewhere else. (P.S. Even if they had agreed to assist with my removal, they have an exclusive partnership with Removery, which doesn't have a great reputation from my research. Just bad all around.) read more

Oh my gosh. This is my ninth tattoo and Inked NYC was by far my favorite tattoo shop. This review is based on the shop, process, artist, tat outcome, and overall experience: Shop: Super clean, great music, artsy vibe, comfortable chair. Also love the swag ... never taking off my new inked nyc hoodie. Given the collaboration with the magazine, as an added bonus, I was able to get some incredible shots of the new work. Process: Choose my artist, coordinated an appointment (Trischa thank you so much for the help here), had a consult with my artist, created a Pinterest board and laid out my ideas in some bullets, and let the process/magic unfold. Since I was flying in from the west coast for this, Koral booked me for two days in a row so we could get a lot accomplished. The shop provided great instructions around prep and aftercare. I love the new dermashield aftercare as my tat colors are still super vibrant two weeks out. Just to share a funny story, I asked my artist if I'd make a dinner reservation on night one with my friend. She laughed at me and said it would probably be a late night. We wrapped day 1 at around 3AM so thankfully I didn't keep my friend waiting ... lesson learned ha. Artist: Koral, you are amazing and I'm so glad we got to work together. This piece is incredible and I can't wait to finish in December. Koral has such a unique style and I knew I wanted to work with her after seeing her gallery. Going forward, I will forever ensure I connect with my artist before hand (travel and outdoors exploring) after this experience. I never realized how important that was for a piece such as this especially when providing "creative freedom". Tat and Overall: I mean I think the pictures speak for themselves. Unreal! I got a marvelous tattoo from Ink Master Season 8 contestant Gia Rose. The tattoo experience itself was stellar. I have several excellent arm tattoos and this one is superior. This all happened a year ago, but I remember I deemed the four-figure cost worth it because it was supposed to include a tour of the Inked facilities, including the magazine offices. They worked with me to find the right tattoo artist for the piece I wanted as well as talked me through with different tattoo ideas I had. I ended up getting a rose tattooed by Deanna Maffeo. Six months later my tattoo still gets compliments as a beautifully done piece. I really wanted a realistic looking rose and that is exactly what I got. I just had a tattoo by the ridiculously talented Koral Ladna, and I admire its beauty and, imo, perfection daily. Because I tend to like all of her art, it was important to me to give her as much freedom as possible so the guidance I provided with a few adjectives I was hoping to convey, and one or two references. Based upon this limit feedback, Koral was able to create a piece of art that blew me away and didn't need any editing. Great experience. I had Deanna as my artist and she was the sweetest! She really paid attention to what I wanted and did a fantastic job. Just make sure to speak up because this is going on your body forever!! I have a few reference pics and she was able to draw her own unique design for each of the tattoos and modified them according to my preferences! They're all very strict about covid precautions, it's the best I've seen! You have to sterilize your phone before going, each station is separated 8 feet apart, all equipment are covered to keep sanitary, and masks are definitely required! They provide water for you if you would like and restrooms are open! First, you have to make an appointment with them and make a deposit. Their minimum is $250 per session so talk with the receptionist to figure that out. I did two tats in one session so that the costs are minimal. My deposit was around $261 and I paid ~$52 at the location , so for two tattoos, I paid around $313 + tip! The place is also really nice and big. Lots of space and lots of air ventilating. I also didn't realize until I got there, but it seems like a pretty famous shop as they have their own magazines called Inked! Post Malone was on their cover! The only thing slightly negative about my experience was that I had to wait around inside for 40+ minutes after my appointment time for my artist to be ready. I was on a time crunch so I got a little worried but Deanna did the tats super quick but precisely. The staff were also very friendly. read more

Going into a tattoo shop can be intimidating, let alone in NYC. I was extremely, and pleasantly surprised at how nice and accommodating the two women at the front desk were. The hospitality is amazing, they've got it down. The whole gallery and studio is massive, clean, and a pleasure to be in. I got tattooed by Nick Matic, and he was absolutely incredible. Tom Kraky did an excellent job and brought my vision forward, he spent a good amount of time on the design and was very welcoming to any last minute changes. I cannot say enough good things about this shop. My experience was great from my first email to walking out of our appointment. My daughter and I went together and our artist was Gabby. This was my daughter's first tattoo and she is prone to passing out. I let Gabby and Salma know of her condition and they made me very comfortable that they know how to handle the situation should it arise. Also, I cannot lie flat as I have vertigo and again Gabby and Salma made sure they could work it out where they could use a chair for me instead of a massage table. We were super happy with Gabby's work and would absolutely use her again. All employees were so nice and friendly offering drinks and snacks as we entered and left. Shop was super clean and HUGE! My two friends and I came in for a tattoo to celebrate our graduation. All three of us wanted the same tattoo-- a purple triangle about half an inch in size. They charged us $100 each!!! Omg. So expensive. Very overpriced. The quality of work was average and the customer service was less than average. And they insisted on cash tips. I would not recommend. read more

Got four small tattoos with Gabby Pignanelli. My appt was pushed back on two separate occasions due to no fault of my own. I was not compensated or anything for these last minute push backs, so last minute I started to drive and head to my appts before being called and notified of the change. I was coming out of state for my appts so already a huge inconvenience for me. She started my tattoo an hr after she changed my appt to. Not even two weeks after my appt with Gabby my tattoos were completely gone, you can tell some parts of my skin wasn't even pierced with the needle and ink. I have plenty of tattoos all over my body including feet ribs and many parts and have never experienced it. I called and complained and I was offered a free touch up, I explained how I don't believe this is a fair compensation when I would have to travel out of state again and waste more time and money to come out there. I paid $782 for a tattoo not even worth $300 realistically. On top of it not being a fair compensation I personally feel it is ridiculous to need a touch up not even two weeks after the appt the tattoo was still in the healing stage. Pictures attached to see the bullshit tattoo and the poor job that was done. This is my second time leaving a review on here because my first review is some how gone. If my review was never deleted I would never repost again Trisha you didn't need to respond idc what you have to say and I told my card company the truth I didn't get the service I paid for it's pretty simple no one is lying and your theft company can keep the lousy few dollars but everyone is going to know about your poor service and no one has even attempted to contact you via email phone or anything since November when we spoke so stop the lies trischa and improve your customer service skills and hire a better tattoo artist because Gabby doesn't know what she is doing I even asked other professional tattoo artists that agreed that the tattoo was not done properly!!! read more

5 stars all around. Waited quite awhile to come here and was counting down the days to my visit. I was super nervous approaching the shop because I thought I wouldn't fit in but they welcome clients with open arms. The woman at the front desk (sorry I'm forgetting her name) was so welcoming and knew my name when I approached her. She offered me a bottle of water and I was instructed to sanitize my phone as well as my hands and wait in the waiting area for my artist. My nervousness was on a 10/10 when I met Raphael but he was extremely professional and walked me through the entire process of getting my tattoo. I wanted him to have creative control and wasn't disappointed at all with the end result. He made sure I was comfortable and okay in terms of pain tolerance. I love my new tattoo!
