I went on a Saturday and found parking right in front of the shop. The shop had great stuff to look at while I made conversation with Chris and that was all a great distraction. Me and my friend came in somewhat on a spur of a moment to get tattoos. We were visiting NOLA from out of town. We looked this place up and saw great reviews and decided to go in to see if they had any openings. Chris helped us out! We let him know we wanted small zodiac signs in our finger and he explained that finger tats usually don't heal up well. Since this was my first tattoo I wanted to make sure everything went smooth. We left to do some deliberation and took his card to text him once we decided. I ended up getting it on the ankle. It was not as painful as I thought it would be, and took about 3 min. It was a really simple design so it didn't take much time. He adjusted the stencils to my liking to make sure I liked the placement before he began. Very happy with how it turned out! Shoutout to Chris who took us on same day and did an amazing job and was super patient with two first timers. At the last minute, on my last day in NOLA, I decided I wanted a tattoo to remember my trip by. I was nervous because I have two other tattooed that I didn't like from years before from other artists. It's hard to choose the right tattoo and right artist so you don't end up with something you don't want or like. I called Tattooagogo and Chris Blanchard answered. He was able to squeeze me in at the very last minute of my last day. I had two very different pictures that I wanted to mesh details together to create something very different. I wanted something feminine and pretty but to represent NOLA and my time spent there. Chris was amazing. He was very patient and listened to me describe the details I was looking for from the two pictures, as well the details I wanted to create and delete. After a15 minute consultation he went in the back and spent about 15 minutes designing what he thought I wanted. I was so surprised how close he was. We fine tuned a few details with Chris making two more attempts until it was perfect! I was so happy and excited. Before walking in I was thinking I should just forget it. When I got inside and saw the samples of work I didn't feel very confident because it wasn't stuff that represented what I want, so I wasn't sure I was going to even get it at all. I had sleet decided if I didn't like it I was leaving without a tattoo. But thankfully that wasn't the case! Chris was amazingly easy to talk to. He was very careful to choose the exact colors I wanted and had envisioned. His work is amazing!! I highly recommend this shop! They squeezed me in when three other shops wouldn't and didn't seem interested! I highly recommend Chris Blanchard!! You won't be disappointed! Found this shop because i followed an artist Nixxin that now works at Tattoo A Go Go. Nixxin is very skilled and I love his work. Nixxin has done ink on me as well as another guy who works there that ink'd up my wife and I. I would recommend him to friends and will be back for more ink from him. As for the shop itself...as soon as you walk in, you get a vibe that's not your typical Uptown Nola vibe. the way i would describe it would Uptown meets the country meets the beach... The quality of the work is good for flash work. Seem to specialize in Sailor Jerry and basic flash style art. Pricey for the type of art offered. We are pleased with the work we had done. The artist we had work on the three of us we not personable and even rude at times. Being an artist and a collector of body art for 20 years I personally will not return there. If you have your art prepared and don't need an artist interpretation then I think you would be pleased but if you want something original and don't have it prepared I suggest finding an artist with a art portfolio with drawing and paintings. read more

I had an amazing experience here last month. Walked in on a Friday with some abstract thoughts on a tattoo I wanted on my flank to cover up an old scar. I was greeted by Donn and he was awesome from the start. He listened to what I had in mind, we came up with some concrete designs, and he scheduled me for the next Monday. Ended up with 1 tattoo covering my scar and 2 other small, adjacent pieces. They came out great and were exactly what I was looking for. Additionally, the vibe was awesome the whole time. I went in about 3 weeks ago to get a portrait of my late best-friend/dog from Donn. Great experience, I went in 10 days or so before the appointment and we talked about what I wanted, I showed him some pics and he told me which he thought would work best. I emailed him the art and we clarified what I wanted. I asked if he would put a little of the cremains in the ink and he said sure. Appointment day he texted and said he was available earlier if I wanted, which was good. When I got to the shop we chatted a bit about the art and he showed me what he'd come up with which was dead on to the photo. About 2-2.5 hours in the chair, one very short break and I have exactly what I wanted on my arm. Donn is great to talk to and really adept with his needles. I have a fair amount of ink and Donn is as gentle as can be--but yes it still hurts. By the way, the other artists in the shop were really friendly, lots of good-natured banter but within the confines of taking their work seriously. A nice place to let somebody puncture your body thousands of times for a couple of hours. I waited to write a review for the ink to heal and it looks better than I had hoped it would. A top notch piece of work from a fantastic artist at what I consider a really reasonable price. I will go back to Donn and tattooagogo for more work and if you are considering work, I don't think you will be disappointed. read more

My experience at tattooagogo could not have been better, and I most definitely plan on returning for further work. Theophile or "TJ" brought an Idea Ive been having for years to life. He took his time with my sketch, fixed anything I was unsure of, and made my tattoo perfect for me, and exactly what I wanted. I finished in two sessions, around two and a half hours each, because the piece I chose was fairly large and took up my entire thigh. I've never had a tattoo artist make me feel so comfy and at home. He tattoos very gently, and makes you laugh the entire time. That pretty much goes for the whole shop though, they're all hilarious. I was so impressed with TJs line work after my first session, they were all perfect and I got endless compliments on my unfinished piece. I went back a few days ago to add some color, and again my experience was incredible. Just basically watching my tattoo come to life was the best part. He helped me chose colors, and made sure I was okay with everyone he used (which not all artist do, I know from experience). Another plus with TJ is he doesn't take ANY breaks, he didn't with me at least, unless he had to switch tattoo machines. He doesn't take "too long" he takes HIS TIME and makes sure his customers are completely satisfied. He's a true artist who genuinely cares about the finished product. The shop itself is super clean and neat, filled with nothing but incredible art. Even if you don't get tattooed I'd recommend stopping by and checking it out! read more

Went there with an image of something I wanted. Don Davis was working on someone while his girlfriend watched. I showed him the image and he told me that he'd have to do it much bigger than the picture I brought in. Told him I didn't want that, and he said why not, it's where you cant see it anyway, your wife won't leave you, and you won't lose your job! I'll start by saying that I am from South Carolina and spent a couple months researching shops and artists so I could get tattooed while on vacation. After several searches two always came up over and over on every "top" "best of" search I typed and that was Tattooagogo and Theophile Bourgeois. In fact I found only one negative review and it was here on yelp and after my own experience I can gather that review was one littered with idiocy. I'm a tattooed pin up model, so the work I have is often in the "spotlight" and I wanted a rather large piece on my thigh. I knew right away after seeing Theophile's portfolio and reviews that he was the artist I wanted to work on me. He wasn't my first choice, he was my only choice. Had he not been able to accommodate me I wouldn't have gotten tattooed. After an email and phone call we were squared away. The day I arrived to be tattooed I walked into a shop that was clean, organized and felt like home. I was warmly welcomed and felt more like a regular than an out of towner. Theophile had my sketch ready and it surpassed my expectations, it amazed me how by just describing the idea I had to him translated into that sketch better than I ever imagined in my own head. As a client who appreciates tattooing as much as I do seeing Theophile's excitement about the piece only made me more proud of it. When your artist is into it as much as you are you are bound to leave with an amazing tattoo. Knowing I was on vacation Donn and Theophile recommended some places to eat, things to do, etc. When I tell you these guys made me feel like a regular I mean it. I've been tattooed in several shops where I feel like an outsider, just a pound of flesh for someone to make a dollar off of. Not here. Theophile is professional, polite and quite funny as well. I like when an artist takes his time, continually assesses the piece and makes sure to get every detail just right. If you want a beautiful piece for a lifetime, from an artist that treats you like a friend then I suggest you go see him. I know I'll be going back, he's worth the drive, flight, whatever it takes. My girlfriend and i recently visited NO, with her family. After seeing all the great tattoos out there we decided we wanted to get one. We looked on Yelp for a good place to go to and found Tattooagoago which was really close to where we were staying. the next day we headed to the shop unsure they would accept walk ins or not. Theophile was the only one working when we walked in. I showed him a picture of a scarab beetle tattoo my sister had gotten that i wanted to put on the back of my leg. He put his artistic spin on it and it turned out amazing and it was done rather quickly as well. Then it was my girlfriend's turn, she wanted an anchor with color on the side of her leg. while he was drawing her anchor, the two of us were able to step out for a bite too eat from one of many restaurants that were in the area. we came back and he was ready to go. He did an amazing job with her tattoo as well. Both our tattoo's healed really quickly, and my girlfriend's color on her anchor is way better than all her others. I would definitely come back to this shop. Theophile is a great artist and a really cool guy. it felt like a really cool place to chill, that also involved a little bit of pain.
