We've been coming here for over 20 years but this practice has drastically changed. No respect for patients anymore.

Dr. Abarikwu is, beyond contestation, the best primary care doc in the valley. Her bedside manner,…read morethoroughness, willingness to hear her patients concerns and act accordingly is beyond anything I've ever experienced. It makes me feel like I matter. She is not a symptom treating doc. She is all about getting to the root. She does not want to unnecessarily over-medicate, and is very compassionate in understanding patient concerns and addressing them. It's true, she's not fast. Haha. Meaning, she takes her time with each patient. And this is probably the single most amazing thing about her. I hope she never changes this. Some people complain she is always late. So what!!!The quality of care and thoroughness of your appts with her are unmatched. If you leave with any unanswered questions, it's your own damn fault, not hers. She's willing to answer anything and everything related to your care. Above and beyond is the name of her game. It's absolutely amazing. I've never felt so cared about by a doctor in my life. The amount of confidence I have in her and her team is unmatched. She is an absolute gem. And Jess, her Assistant. Don't even get me started. Talk about a bad-ass. I don't think I've ever seen so much hustle from one person in my life. Any slowness complaints you may have about Dr. Aberikwu are made up for by Jess. She is super responsive, advocates for her patients like a boss, and is always willing to go the extra mile. Best medical team ever. I mean that whole heartedly. Nothing left to say. They're the best.

I had great experiences with this clinic until about 4-5 years ago. My experiences got way worse…read morewhen a fantastic resident left to be an attending physician. I have been dealing with chronic pain for 2 years now and needed a referral from this office to Rheumatology. I went for an in-person appointment and had my Rheumatologist picked out and their fax number, address etc. all written down. It could not have been made easier. It took them SIX WEEKS to get the referral sent properly. Along the way the front office brushed me off and wouldn't let me speak to MAs who actually knew what they were doing. They were quite frankly condescending and dismissive. When my doctor weighed in, he offered no apology and kind of shrugged his shoulders. For a specialist scheduling several months out, they added an extra month and half to my wait while in severe pain and scared out of my mind not knowing what was wrong with me. My doctor said, "well the issue here is that the attending needs to sign or else they can't accept it". OK... why are you telling me this?! I cannot create nor sign the referral as a patient!!!! That's what YOU do. I could go on and on. It's not all bad (hence the two star review instead of just 1 star) they have some good doctors there and I have had some good experiences with staff. But when I really needed help, I was cast aside.

We have been going to this office for 4 years and have family members who have gone for 9 years…read more This office has gone so incredibly downhill since switching over to Arbor. We've been ignoring it because they are close and easy to get same day appointments. We had an appointment today at 3:30. The waiting room was packed and I overheard parents saying they were there to see the same doctor. I asked the front desk staff if they were behind (15 minutes after my scheduled appointment) and was notified the doctor still had 3 patients in front of us. I asked the front desk why they didn't call people to tell them that they were so far behind, and she said they didn't know. You don't get delayed THREE appointments that quickly. They also failed to tell me when I checked in for the appointment. Do better. We shouldn't have to juggle kids in your waiting room (especially ones who are very anxious for scheduled vaccines) because you are running behind and don't tell anyone. Pure insanity. We will be looking for a new pediatrician after today.

We've been going to this clinic for a couple of years, and up until now, our experiences have been…read moregenerally okay. However, our most recent visit made me seriously consider finding a new clinic. During this visit, I was informed there was an issue with our insurance. I provided the current insurance card and a reference number from our insurance company at the front desk, and was asked to wait in another room. When the nurse came to bring us in, I asked if the insurance issue had been resolved. At that point, a staff member at the front office abruptly responded, "That's why I asked you if you wanted to pay out of pocket for today!"--in a noticeably rude tone. It's disappointing that one unpleasant interaction can overshadow the efforts of the many kind and professional staff members we've encountered in the past. I understand that, to some staff members, we may be seen as "patients" and not "customers," but basic respect and kindness should still apply. I genuinely hope this individual can take to heart the simple principle of treating others the way they would want to be treated.

Apparently it's "office policy" that unless you shell out the $100 out of pocket at least yearly for a doctor's visit that takes less time to simply continue the prescription than waiting for the giggling with female employees to stop does, they cut you off won't even do a 1 month extension so you can actually make an appointment. ***A funny update: the day after I posted this negative review, the vindictive practice sent a letter stating I could no longer be their patient, as if I would have anyway. A word of sorely needed advice: less time hawking reviews online and getting bent out of shape for the poor job you did, more time acting ethically to the patients who pay far more than the 30 second visits are worth.

I was a patient at this practice for a few years unfortunately and ultimately left with a very…read moredisappointing impression of how patients are treated when they raise concerns. From the beginning, I repeatedly requested to see the physician, Dr. Perez, for my primary care concerns. Despite multiple requests over several years, I was consistently scheduled with the Jen the PA instead UNLESS I wanted to invest in aesthetics treatments. Yah it's Scottsdale, but I'm here for my health, not my appearance. While I understand the role of physician assistants, I specifically wanted physician involvement in my care and was never able to obtain it. (I still don't have answers from last summer's outstanding health issue because they truly don't care about their patients health). I also experienced ongoing communication and billing issues with the extremely rude front staff. On more than one occasion, I was told coding corrections would be submitted to insurance and that I would receive updated itemized invoices. The invoices never arrived. When I called for updates, my voicemails frequently went unanswered. I later learned that at least one bill had been sent to an incorrect address. My final experience was the most concerning. I had recently recovered from Influenza B and was suffering from what was later believed to be Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease. I was in significant pain and visibly ill during my visit. As I was leaving, I was aggressively confronted about an outstanding $100 bill that I had previously called about and requested information on. When I attempted to explain that I had already been trying to resolve the billing issue, I was repeatedly interrupted, dismissed, and treated with hostility rather than professionalism and empathy. The girl rolled her eyes at me, shook her snubby pony tail at me looked like she wanted to hit me. I told her to just email me the itemized invoice and I'll pay it when I get home. That invoice also had an incorrect address on it. Go figure. The competence here is real high as you can see After sending a message through the patient portal about my experience to Jen, I finally received the first and only message from Dr. Perez himself. Unfortunately, instead of addressing the communication and billing concerns I raised, I was told that I seemed to "have a problem paying my bills" and was informed that I should seek care elsewhere. This was particularly surprising given that I have always paid my balances and had repeatedly attempted to obtain clarification before paying invoices that I had not received. It's not about the $100 invoice. I make way more than that by posting a 20 second tik tok, and I spend way more than that in 5 minutes on a round of drinks for friends. It's not the price, it's the principle. Healthcare is about more than diagnoses and referrals. It is also about communication, respect, and patient advocacy. In my experience, those areas were severely lacking here. I have since transferred my care to another physician and have received a level of attentiveness, kindness, and professionalism that confirms my concerns about my experience at this practice. Based on my experience, I will absolutely not recommend this office. For the record, Jen is nice and caring.. she doesn't belong there.

My first visit with the Dr. Waters went very well we discussed my medical conditions and he treated me for them. My second visit I hurt my neck and came into the office in severe pain. He touched my neck and said it was most likely a muscle strain and referred me to physical therapy. I could barely keep my head up as it was hanging on the right side of my shoulder. I went to the physical therapy appointment and the therapist looked at my neck and said you need to go to the Hospital now and called an ambulance for me. When I got there they did a scan of my neck and I was rushed to another hospital to have emergency total artificial disc replacement. I lost 30 percent of my strength on my right side from the nerves being pressed from my disc for too long because Dr. Waters did not think there was anything wrong with me and did not order any tests to rule anything out. I went to him after for my follow up visit after the hospital and I was treated very poorly by him. After that visit he refused to continue treating me for my conditions and would know longer refill my prescriptions that I have been on for over 10 years. As a physician he knew he messed up did not apologize and I ended up having to find a new primary care doctor. I chose his office because it is down the street from where I live and I can not drive and I had to find another Dr further away for me to now have to take an Uber to get to. If you are considering him as your primary care doctor I would look somewhere else. He does not care about his patients and is very rude. I could have ended up paralyzed if it wasn't for the therapist who caught my neck injury. And refusing to refill my medications that my previous primary Doctor treated me for was horrible. I had to go to an urgent care to get a refill until I was able to find a new primary care doctor to start treating me. The staff was also very rude to me as well.
