But I brought my Subaru in for the typical oil change this past, hot Sunday. They didn't tell me until AFTER the fact. But they accidentally drained my CVT fluid (which is a big deal for Subarus). I don't know what they replaced the fluid with since the fluid wasn't listed on the invoice. My car started to make a "whizzing" noise from the CVT area while slowly ascending an incline. This noise hasn't previously happened in the past. I was already planning to bring it into Subaru for a CVT fluid flush. But this mistake by Valvoline made it mandatory for me. So I'm bringing it into Subaru tomorrow. I'm hoping that the transmission fluid they used hasn't caused any damage. I don't know if it was just the hot weather. But I can't trust them enough to go back to them now. I'm hoping no real damage was done to my CVT.

After getting an oil change, my Ford Edge began to make horrible noises and lose power. I immediately returned and the technician added additional oil and said they could not repair the engine. Took it to a mechanic and found they added 10 quarts of oil when 6 is the full amount. This caused $1500 worth of damage. Jiffy Lube denied they caused the damage without any information. The manager was accusatory and rude. Luckily the damage was documented and repaired. Now the bureau of automotive repair can investigate them. Mistakes happen. But poor service and rude attitudes are a choice.

The (assumed) owner, Joe, knows me, my previous cars and previous repairs, from memory, even before he keys up my records from his system. Service is friendly, honest, and reliable. I don't know the crew, as well, but I've seen some of the same faces for a long time. They're serious and dedicated. Other than squealing brakes, one time (that they fixed when I went back), I've had no issues with their work. They're substantially less expensive than dealers. But they're not dirt cheap. This is a good thing as I know they're neither gouging nor cutting corners. There's an air conditioned waiting room in the back. I prefer sitting in one of the outdoor chairs in front. When I arrived, the staff put me into a bay as soon as I drove up. They began checking my systems, lights, filters, tire pressure, etc... They found my reservation through CarAdvise quickly. They made a couple of suggestions for service beyond the oil change, but applied zero pressure for approving them. The service was extraordinarily fast and everybody had the most polished manners I've ever seen at a service location. Everyone was extremely respectful. The manager Roy made sure I didn't have any questions before leaving and we had a genuinely warm and friendly conversation before he sent me on my way. The location is convenient, the service is quick, and the price that I paid was unbeatable. I highly recommend this Valvoline location for your car servicing needs.

I'm glad I did as there were no lines and I was able to drive right in to the garage. Luckily, they were able to pull my info off of their database. Did the normal check and in about 15-20 minutes later, I was off. They did recommend a couple of things to me, but I declined and they were not pushy at all. This is why it's important to go to the same mechanic because they have all of your records so they'll know what to recommend. Or else they just go off of mileage and recommended services. Or keep a good log of your maintenance. Which I do, so it's not an issue for me. As far as customer services goes, I find that my experience at all Valvoline locations has been great and the advisors easy to talk to.
