The worst service and food I've had on a long time. There were three tables of customers when we got there. The sign said seat yourself. We sat down and waited forc10 minutes for someone to help us. They had wait staff who would walk through the area but none if them came to take care of us. Another party came on after we had been helped and they experienced the same thing. But they got up and left after waiting for someone to help them. I ordered the breakfast burrito which was listed as having shredded cheese, bacon, ham and sausage. I asked for fruit instead of potatoes. When the food came out my plate had potatoes, no salsa and the burrito had half slices of American cheese laid across the top of the burrito! I cut open my burrito to find sausage, onions and tomatoes. No ham or bacon and no shredded cheese. When I told the waitress, she said she would tell the cook. She later came back with a plate of sausage and two pieces of ham. After I told her there was no cheese, she apologized and said she would comp my food. Not sure why she just didn't have the burrito remade with the right ingredients but I ended up leaving after eating 5 strawberries and an orange slice. My husband had an all meat omelet. The meat was on top of the omelet instead of inside of it. We gave up on saying anything about that. Save your money and your time. read more

The first thing I noticed about Tavern 22 was the taxidermy-heavy decor. Kind of a morbid zoo - but it's very high quality. The seating and dining area was very nice, and the staff was very friendly. The menu had a good variety and I ordered the steak tacos. The "steak" wasn't what I expected - it looked like a chopped up hamburger - and shells were floppy and undercooked. I attended a baby shower here and we had amazing service, wonderful food and delicious drinks. One of the best cosmopolitans I have ever had (and the cheapest!) it was such a great place to have a gathering. I live right by this place. I have ordered a burger the last time I was here and half of the bun was hard as a rock. Tonight I just visited this place in hopes to order a beer. I went and sat at their outside patio. Nobody came to take my order in 30 minutes so I left. There was maybe 2 others tables with customers total at the restaurant. It feels like I was intentionally ignored. We stopped by for a Sunday brunch after church and our server was spot on with timeless and had a good sense of humor for the table she was dealing with. I've been here a handful of times and don't anticipate going back. The food is ok at best. They give you crinkle cut fries like you'd buy at Walmart. The bun for my burger was cheap too. We were there to watch sports on TV, considering they have a ton of TVs, but they didn't carry the Wild hockey game. All of the TVs went to a blank screen for an hour while they tried to figure out how to use them. The whole place just seems poorly planned and executed. The service was very slow, which is forgivable but we weren't given any warning because it was less than half full. We waited an hour and a half for two flatbreads, a burger, and a kids quesadilla. While we sat there, at least three tables got up and left due to no one attending them. Atmosphere was very different. Dead, stuffed animals on all the walls and stuffed birds in the entry way. I'd def recommend going here, even though i personally didn't have the best experience. The food was fine, but the service was lacking. However, in this post-pandemic world, i understand that we're all hurting to get anyone to work at all (I'm in the service industry elsewhere), so that's why i forgive. By no means were we in any rush, but when it takes to get the check, give the card and return the card and check, more than nearly 40 minutes...there's a bit of an issue. And, as i said, I've been in this industry for more than 20 years, and I'm sympathetic to the new "norm" of being stretched as industry people, but i could look around and see what she and her fellow servers were dealing with, and it did not merit her neglecting us during our visit. As i said, I'm in the industry, our entire table is in the industry, minus the 2 children and our 80+ year old grandma. We are kind. We were understanding and patient, but sometimes enough is enough. So, that's why I'm leaving a 3 star review. I just hope that this can be a gentle nudge in noticing short-comings in this f*$ked up new world we live in. It's not cute, i know, and i hope this isn't taken poorly or in any way unkind. That dear server still got about 40% off of us and I'm still highly recommending Tavern 22. I have come here many times since it opened. Great bloody marys and the mixed drink prices are about $5-6. Very reasonable! All I ever get is the broasted chicken.
