If I could give zero stars I would. The last 3 visits here have been bad and each one was worse. Stood around forever to be seated, then our server was the same guy last two visits red blonde hair, he's Terrible either dumb as rocks or drunk. Said they were out of ponders of bush light since a week ago, so said tap would work, brings a bottle of ultra, then drops the F bomb In front of our table including kids. They ran out of chocolate milk days ago? Then he didn't bring our drinks for another 10 mins, then had someone else come over and finish our order, kids food was wrong, waited in our apps and order forever until it was time to leave. No napkins, no silverware, waited forever, felt rushed and were not welcome there as they don't have proper staff and trained staff. Management sucks! Definitely can tell no knows or cares there. One guy was nice, helpful and that was it. Even the hostess was clueless and wasting time. Stay far AWAY until the get proper Management and new employees! read more

Me an my boyfriend were staying at the hotel for meetings in town. We have done this stay a few times. We decided to grab a couple drinks and food at the tavern like normal. We have always had great experiences but this time we had an older mid-aged lady with dark curly hair as our server (I cannot recall what her name tag said). Not only did she rush us to order- she seemingly did not have the time of day for my boyfriend OF COLOR. It was very clear she had no interest in serving someone other than of her "status". She wouldn't make eye contact with him, rolled her eyes multiple times, gave him super short, snarky answers, and made it one of the most unwelcoming and uncomfortable places we have ever eaten. If it wasn't for my boyfriend being the nice, calm man he is.. I would have gotten up and left without paying. We will not be returning. We do love the bar down the hall. Great staff and service there. Very unfortunate that one person can ruin a whole atmosphere. read more

This is a restaurant/bar that helps other establishments seem fabulous in comparison. Came here on recommendation of nearby hotel. Must have some kinda incentive. Ordered a Shiner Bock but it was so flat I returned it and had them pour me a Guinness. Advertised on menu as fish and chips with coleslaw. Got a sea of French fries, a larger cut than I like but that is personal preference. Almost couldn't find the two cod fillets that were minnow size and a thimble sized coleslaw. $14 bucks for that!!! Have they no conscience? I'd have walked out if I didn't feel so committed. My advise, try any other restaurant in Grand Forks. They all owe this place a debt of gratitude for making their establishment seem better in comparison. This place can't go out of business soon enough. read more

Sadly understaffed for a busy afternoon/evening in town. We felt bad for the 2 waitresses manning the whole restaurant part. Food was ok but kitchen must have been under staffed too very slow. The service is absolutely terrible and has been for the years I've been coming here. The only reason I come back is because I'm put up in this hotel for work. It takes 20-40 minutes to get your food, depending on what you order. When it does come, the quality is terrible and it is generally cold. The one star is only because they gave good happy hour deals. They tried to tell me that the special on the wing basket is only for eat in, and not take out. He then proceeded to tell me, that I wouldn't even be able to have a to go box for what I didn't finish. Came here for the famous "U - Callits" on Sunday and waited by the door to be seated for about ten minutes. When we did finally get asked where we wanted to be seated, we said the patio and the manager told us "Oh the server is swamped so you wouldn't get service out there." So we said we'd sit at the bar, but then decided it might be best to just leave. I've always loved the tav and their specials but their service makes me never want to go back there again. read more

Typical of a restaurant attached to a hotel. Overpriced food, long wait times even when the place had maybe 6 tables occupied and the majority empty, and the food quality was lacking. Their slider section of the menu consisted of a bunch of food items that amounted to literally 1 slider each, which basically amounted to a couple wings thrown between a slider bun in the case of the buffalo chicken slider. It also took approximately 60 minutes to get our table's food out to us when there were just 5 of us and very few other people in the restaurant and the place was just full of tables that hadn't been cleared. read more

Ate here with a friend Friday. Servers were eye candy to the max. Beer was good and atmosphere was comfortable. The issue was food. 'beef tips.' they came and they smelled a bit funny. We ate them and put the thought aside. Thirty minutes later we were throwing up. My friend didn't have time to leave the table and did it in the booth. I almost made it to the toilets the first time. The second time I did. The third was in the lot. I called the next day and asked to speak to the chef about what happened, Aaron I think. He said they were using recycled, old meat and the server should have mentioned it. How the F is that good service? Serving bad food knowingly or recycling rotting food that way? Throw that crap away. If you don't care move on or get your cooks to follow food rules. F minus for the food. Bill was $60 overall. Still had to pay. read more

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've ever had and the food was terrible. I ordered a chicken caesar salad and the lettuce was wilted and drowning in dressing and no chicken at all. And when she finally came back 25 minutes later and I told her there was no chicken she lifted my napkin to check the plate! I assured her again there was no chicken on the salad. They were out of half of the beers we inquired about. The service was so slow and my waitress wouldn't even bus our table as we sat and waited for food. I asked her to move our drink glasses and appetizer plates and she picked them up and put them back down for some reason. I rated this a 1 star because 0 wasn't an option , the reason being is they will round up your total e.g. if your bill is say 10.87 they will round it to 11.00 and profit from the change. If a business is gonna round a total it should be in the favor of the customer. read more

The servers aimlessly walk around, there are no hosts to keep order with the servers sections so we end up waiting 25+ mins for just a menu. This place is just painfully slow. We live in Grand Forks and have been to Tavern United 1 other time about a year ago. The first visit was fine - nothing great, nothing bad. Not this time! We were seated right away, gave our drink order, and received our drinks in short order. The place was not very busy - lots of tables were available. We went over the short, simple menu for a few minutes and ordered the beer cheese soup, Fiesta Salad, and Calamari. It took 33 minutes to get our food! Not only did it take forever for get our food, it was marginal - at best. The Fiesta Salad was advertised with "mixed greens" and came with only iceberg lettuce, no tortilla strips, and chicken chopped so fine that it was pretty much unidentifiable. The beer cheese soup was thin, leaky, and virtually tasteless. The tzatziki sauce with the Calamari tasted like sour cream with some cucumbers in it. Additionally, we sat next to the server's input computer station - more like gossip central! The servers complained quite openly about all the patrons in the restaurant. We pulled a manager aside and provided feedback on our meal. She did remove the soup and salad from our bill and felt bad about our bad experience. The food quality (or lack thereof) and VERY long wait simply do not merit a return visit ANY time soon, if at all. read more

Service was awful. They overcharged me for beer, and when I got the revised receipt back there was one too many beers on it. Two weekends in a row we went here because of their amazing Sunday deal on wings. Both times the service was absolutely horrible. Today the guy serving us didn't even give us napkins or silverware for the wings, and we had to physically seek out another server to give us these items after eating as long as we could with just our bare hands. Our checks were split and we wrapped our cards in our individual checks to make it easier, and he returned and somehow had charged the wrong checks to the wrong cards. We ate here last night for their .25 wings. They have 26 flavor choices, most of them are wet and a few are a dry rub. The waitress and manager Scott were very nice and eager to assist us if we needed something. The wings are big and are double crunch, like Applebee's. Three of us had wigs and one had their smash cheese burger. The favorite has to be he Extreme Honey, it has a nice balance of heat and sweetness, I highly recommend these.
