Small little out of the way restaurant that will blow your mind. Seats about 25 people. The boss lady has been running this place for over 35 years. Her best friend retired and comes to help out on a regular basis. We were told they didn't have gnocchi on the menu because "She was off work the day before" ha ha that's how fresh everything is. Owners makes all the pasta in house. From start to end every dish was a winner. I tried to get them to open for breakfast the next day but the owners just laughed at me. I was serious! This is a must, when in Rome.

There's a reason it's #1 on Yelp! We actually stumbled upon this restaurant and it was the best mistake ever made. Had 9:00 reservations at a restaurant called something Ripetta. Saw the sign on the outside and thought this was it and we walked in. There was no reservation but they were nice enough to seat us. I did learn the name of the street was Ripetta, hence the confusion. What an incredible meal! The moment we walked inside from start to finish, it was fabulous. The two women ( I think they are the owners) were so welcoming and helpful. They add so much character to this charming place. The food was excellent and the presentation beautiful. By far this was one of the best meals I had in Italy!

The ambiance was very small and cozy. It felt like a true authentic Italian restaurant. The service wasn't great. As we were waiting for the waitress to take our order, she was drying glasses the entire time. After we received our food, she never checked to see if we needed anything or enjoyed our meal. She was not attentive, especially with only two parties in the restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing. They didn't bring our meals out together, but the pasta we ordered was delicious and very authentic.

The best meal we had in Rome. The menu doesn't have English translations, but it's easy to use Google Translate. They don't really speak or understand much English, but they try their best. The service was amazing, and the host was so sweet. I absolutely loved the Risotto con Gamberi. Definitely the best risotto I've ever had in my life. The Ravioli Ricotta e Spinaci was delicious as well. If this place wasn't lovely enough already, there's a dog at the restaurant who keeps everyone company during their meal. I wish I knew about this place sooner, I would have had dinner every night here.

Amazing food. Super friendly staff makes you feel like at home. Probably one of the best places I've ate in Rome. Very cute dog.

If you are reading this please know this is one of the best homemade pasta in Rome! This place is were the locals go to eat as a local recommended this place to us so we kept spreading the word to others. It is a little of walk outside the main tourist spots but it is worth it. The food tasted like they made everything that afternoon and placed it in front of us as it was so fresh! The service was prompt and friendly with true locals chatting and laughing in the background. Pictures can't do this place justice as you have to go and experience it yourself . If you are in Rome why are you still reading this? Go find a map and eat here!

In a word, incredible. We didn't use the menu, just asked for the owner's favorites. She started us with the best gnocchi I've ever had with a fresh tomato sauce, super smooth with excellent flavor. She followed it up with a perfect medium rare taglieta with balsamic vinegar sauce and arugula, and ended up with a wonderful caprese. All in all, wonderful service, amazing food, and a note from my wife: great bathroom!

One of the best in Rome, the appetizer plate - WOW!! Best Humus ever, and fantastic home made pasta! The Ravioli and Gnocchi were best I've ever had, and I've had a lot! Updated: went back next day, had the pasta with truffle grated on top by the owner, so friendly and yummy! See picture - the best !

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

Already depressed knowing we were returning to the cold and fearful Minneapolis, we spent the day packing and wandering Prati. After drowning our sorrows at a few cocktail emporiums in the early evening, we walked into Su e Giu without a reservation close to 9:30. The two guys working the front showed us to a table, and we proceeded to have a perfect last night meal. Our appetizers and pastas were great, service was friendly, and I spent time reflecting on how wonderful Rome is, rather than thinking about our return to the fractured States. Su e Giu Cucina Romana is the perfect Roman restaurant to feel La Dolce Vita. It is a sweet life indeed.

I had possibly the most amazing chick food pasta a girl could imagine. Girls know what girl food is. The pasta in Italy is just better -obviously. But then put all sorts of girl flavors on it like Lemon and Orange, just lightly enough, zest with a small hint of cheese-..... omgosh. Yes, yes, and yes. Need my hubs to replicate at home. He is going to be busy trying to perfect this. Tagliatelle with orange and lemon parmesan. This was it. It was the best. Everything else we ordered was amazing as well. Wait outside. They don't have a sign telling you to wait, no server telling you to wait. You wait out there, wondering if you're in the right place, but then people stand behind you and you're like - oh! I'm here. This is the place. There are possibly 4 tables inside. It's small. I read about them being rude- we did not have that problem. In fact, they made a mistake and we kindly let them know we ordered something else- they corrected it and were nice about it.

Our kind waiter bright over water, bread and breadsticks. No olive oil, no butter just dry. For our lunch I decided on the cacio e Pepe and Lisa opted for the ragú. Both were delicious. For dessert we were told the owners mom made lemon cake so that was a no brainer. It was fabulous and paired well with espresso. Our waiter also brought us Amaro. It's a licorice like liqueur enjoyed as a digestif. Definitely an acquired taste that reminded me of Aguardiente. Overall the service and staff were exceptional and I would return if ever in a Vatican City again.

We were both satisfied with our selections. Our meals started with bread service, both fresh bread and packaged breadsticks. We didn't receive any olive oil which might be the norm in Italy. For dessert, we opted for a slice of their featured lemon torta. It was enjoyable and we paired it with espresso. Finally, our server offered us a popular digestivi - Amaro. It reminded me of Jägermeister and I wasn't a fan. But I appreciated the hospitality and kindness of his gesture. In summary, we left content and with full bellies. Our server did a great job and the manager or owner acknowledged us and seemed to appreciate our business. All in all, this lunch was a positive experience.
