One of my absolute favorite spots in Rome. This place has such a warm, welcoming feel from the moment you walk in. The staff is incredibly friendly, the food is great, and the prices are very reasonable. Unlike a lot of the more touristy restaurants nearby, this one still has that authentic charm and real Italian feel. Not huge inside and it's always packed (for good reason), so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time to avoid waiting at the door. The carbonara was one of my favorites I had in Rome. Really rich with a strong egg yolk flavor, which I loved. The meatballs were also so good and definitely worth ordering. This is my 2nd and last night in Rome and we chose this restaurant because it looked tempting and we had to try it! I got the pepper and cheese pasta (acacia e Pepe) it was delicious! the restaurant was packed and everyone was happy! Was easily one of the best restaurants (If not the best) we went to on our trip to Italy. It was quaint , homey, and felt like family. My wife and I enjoyed the whole staff work together with synergy and teamwork and dedication to each of their craft .Our server was young , but bubbly and not bashful. The eggplant Parmesan was just as our server said it would be in recommending , it will ruin you. Also the All' Amatriciana meatballs were amazing , The pasta of course was good , the lasagna and carbonara were both amazing. Ask for recommendations and agree to them , you won't be disappointed. Europe 2023 - Rome Definitely a 5 star. This small little restaurant has an amazing atmosphere, food and exceptional service. FAST Food: we ordered a couple of Birra Mirettis and they brought out some of the best bread we've had in Italy, with plates for us to pour some olive oil, which you think would happen at all restaurants here but they don't. I ordered the Spinach Ravioli which was exceptional, the cheese was ricotta. Also the Pesto Linguini was very tasty. Atmosphere: very tiny restaurant, with about 12 small tables, get to know your neighbors, which we did, they were from Oklahoma. Service: as with all restaurants in Italy, everyone helps out, but we were always checked on and they brought out extra bread after our meals were served. When done, I ordered an espresso and they brought out a couple of shots of what tasted like Robitussin, but a nice end of dinner treat. Tip: there are lots of choices in Italy, don't waste time on the restaurants trying to coax you in, or restaurants with less than 4.0 rating. read more

Food was ok. Service was the worse we had on our trip. We tried a lot of different restaurants all around and everyone was always polite, fast and great service. Here it took at leasts 30 min to order, we had to grab the waiter's attention. The place is small so there was no way they couldn't see us. Then the food took more than 45 minutes to come. Had to call the waiter again to ask for our food or to pay for our water and leave, but we were already there for an hour and so hungry. No apologies at all, we wanted dessert and they didn't offer. It was like they really wanted us to leave. Horrible experience!! And the food was average. read more

A tiny family run restaurant with maybe 10-12 small tables, in the middle of a busy city. When you walk by, the first thing you'll notice is the fresh produce/ingredients they have out on the tables at their front door. Once inside you can immediately feel the intimacy of the dinner guests and the staff. I ordered the traditional Roman dish, Cacio e Pepe, and my husband ordered the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese. Both dishes were flavorful and so scrumptious. Portions were enough to get you full but not too full, which is perfect if you like dessert. As for dessert. The Tiramisu specifically...holey moley! AMAZING!!! And AMAZING!!! There's nothing I can say that can describe the deliciousness of their tiramisu. So all I will day is you must get the tiramisu. We went back the next day to just buy a tiramisu to-go. read more

Booked a reservation here for my daughter's birthday as she loves pasta and the high reviews on service and food sealed the deal to make the reservation. Our hotel concierge called the restaurant to let them know we will be celebrating her birthday. We had hope based on the reviews the service would be outstanding. However the restaurant proved to be the biggest disappointment. They had our 9pm reservation information when we checked in and after a few minutes sat us at our table. There was a crowd outside and the restaurant had to turn away patrons who didn't have reservations. We thought this was a good sign. Instead the pasta was mediocre and the service was terrible. The servers were asking customers who were already eating if they could get up and move to another table so they should shuffle some tables around to sit new customers. As compensation they offered them a few dessert. They did this to a few customers. It's a poor look especially given all the tables were reserved. They didn't acknowledge my daughter's birthday nor offer and complimentary items as a number of reviews have mentioned. Ended up just eating and leaving, with the server not caring and generally being rude. I had book this family own trattoria based on hind service reviews. Instead they were ruder than any other restaurants in Rome. Never going back and will make sure to let everyone we know to avoid this place. We ended up having the best pasta Osteria Da Furtunata - might be considered a tourist trap but it was indeed the best pasta on Rome that was worth waiting in line for. Small and homey restaurant with a family feel. Very fresh ingredients and nice portions. Had the caprese salad, rigatoni carbonara and tagliatelle with fillet (ground) beef and tomato sauce. The rigatoni had deep fried crispy pancetta pieces which made for a delicious salty surprise inside the pasta. Mozzarella in the salad was delicious and perfect with in season tomatoes. They were able to accommodate us at 9:30 for dinner without a reservation. You can tell this is a restaurant for locals. Highly recommend! read more

LONG travel day. We were exhausted hangry and on fumes. Our first time in Rome and it's 22:30. Our hotel recommended this restaurant a few steps away and it was outstanding. My Husband ordered Pasta Carbonara and I went for Eggplant Parmesan. Delicious. An unpretentious FUN spot (entire staff singing along to really terribly over played late 90's music). On our way out for dinner after long walking all the day around Rome, we didn't really know what we wanted and where to go, but as we walk in front of the door, the loud chatting of 15 Italian fellow countryman of mine all sitting at one table caught our attention: "if there's locals in a small place.. you can't go wrong!" And we couldn't have gone better. Mozzarella, burrata and stracciatella together with affettati misti (which we received at the table by mistake..and I've never let them go back) were fresh, yummy and tasted just as expected: awesomely Italian (miss this stuff in the US). The carbonara and the saltimbocca alla romana tasted delicious. The service is prompt and courteous, the 3 person working there are all locals and this makes the difference. All I can say.. the Trattoria della Stampa is going on my list of place to revisit soon or later. 5 stars! read more

Great and truly family operated restaurant. The first thing you see are family photos on the walls - and you recognise them among the staff. I had ossobuco and my wife had saltimbocca with sides and both were fantastically tasty. The house wine was good for the price and the food was amazing. As a side note, the people next to us had prosciutto with mozzarella for starters and it was the biggest and most delicious plate I've seen in Rome. read more
