Cozy little restaurant. Seemed pretty authentic and not touristsy. Service and ambiance was very nice. Had the carbonara and the bruschetta, my wife had the lasagna and my kids split a spaghetti pomodoro, no complains. Dishes were around 10-15 euros. Would eat here again.

Absolutely outstanding spot to visit in the heart of Rome! Let me start by saying, it's a very tiny spot, so make sure a reservation or go early...and it was packed! Prepare yourself for an Italian foodie adventure like no other. The menu at Trattoria Della Stampa is a culinary masterpiece, offering a remarkable array of traditional and innovative Italian dishes. Each plate is a celebration of flavors, meticulously crafted using the freshest ingredients grown locally! We started with an Aperol Spritz - very refreshing! Then tried the buffalo mozzarella with fresh tomato and basil - lovely! Next was the meatballs - an absolute must! Finally the pesto tagliatelle and carbonara pastas - divine!! Service was outstanding too, a wonderful hidden gem in Rome! Would def go back!

Was easily one of the best restaurants (If not the best) we went to on our trip to Italy. It was quaint , homey, and felt like family. My wife and I enjoyed the whole staff work together with synergy and teamwork and dedication to each of their craft .Our server was young , but bubbly and not bashful. The eggplant Parmesan was just as our server said it would be in recommending , it will ruin you. Also the All' Amatriciana meatballs were amazing , The pasta of course was good , the lasagna and carbonara were both amazing. Ask for recommendations and agree to them , you won't be disappointed. Thanks Karim and family , btw the deserts were also incredible. I pray one day will be blessed enough to go back!!

Europe 2023 - Rome Definitely a 5 star. This small little restaurant has an amazing atmosphere, food and exceptional service. FAST Food: we ordered a couple of Birra Mirettis and they brought out some of the best bread we've had in Italy, with plates for us to pour some olive oil, which you think would happen at all restaurants here but they don't. I ordered the Spinach Ravioli which was exceptional, the cheese was ricotta. Also the Pesto Linguini was very tasty. Atmosphere: very tiny restaurant, with about 12 small tables, get to know your neighbors, which we did, they were from Oklahoma. Service: as with all restaurants in Italy, everyone helps out, but we were always checked on and they brought out extra bread after our meals were served. When done, I ordered an espresso and they brought out a couple of shots of what tasted like Robitussin, but a nice end of dinner treat. Tip: there are lots of choices in Italy, don't waste time on the restaurants trying to coax you in, or restaurants with less than 4.0 rating.

We slid right in before a rush. The service was personal and brisk. I had the carbonara which was luxurious with rich crunchy bites of pancetta. The ravioli was bright and populated with fresh cherry tomatoes and creamy ricotta spinach. The cecio y Pepe was perfetto al dente. Roberto Scarnecchia scores again...goooooollllll!

Amazing hidden treasure!, friendly, courteous service, the food was the highlight, everything we had tasted homemade and delicious, recommend any of their pastas. Caccio e Pepe best we had in Rome, Ricotta ravioli delicious, We were even offered a complimentary digestive liqueur at the end of dinner, highly recommended!

Excellent food and service. An absolute must! Small family ambiance and very accommodating as we did not have reservations. We went twice. Incredible pasta, fresh and flavorful. Tiramisu is a do not miss. Not too many pictures, busy eating!

Small and homey restaurant with a family feel. Very fresh ingredients and nice portions. Had the caprese salad, rigatoni carbonara and tagliatelle with fillet (ground) beef and tomato sauce. The rigatoni had deep fried crispy pancetta pieces which made for a delicious salty surprise inside the pasta. Mozzarella in the salad was delicious and perfect with in season tomatoes. They were able to accommodate us at 9:30 for dinner without a reservation. You can tell this is a restaurant for locals. Highly recommend!

Please please please do yourself a favor and order the oxtail pasta (not sure of the name on the menu) but it was delicious. It was also served with an abundance of oxtail. Very Disappointing Experience - Osteria da Fortunata, Pantheon Location…read more We have visited Rome several times and have eaten at Osteria da Fortunata della Cancelleria on Via della Cancelleria. During our previous visits, we had excellent experiences with both the food and the customer service, which is why tonight's experience was especially disappointing. We ordered the carbonara and spaghetti, and unfortunately, the pasta was undercooked, very chewy, and cold. It was not at all the quality we had experienced during our previous visits. When we asked the waiter to take the carbonara back because it was not edible, his attitude was extremely disappointing. Rather than offering to replace the dish or addressing our concern professionally, he told us that the manager had approved it and that we could simply take the food home. What made the experience even worse was the atmosphere of this location. The restaurant felt more like a factory than an authentic Italian dining experience. We noticed the staff using walkie-talkies to communicate with the host, and as soon as customers left their tables, the waiter would communicate with the host to immediately send new customers in to fill the space. It gave us the impression that the priority was turning tables over as quickly as possible rather than providing guests with a pleasant dining experience. The constant rush was noticeable and took away from what should have been an enjoyable meal in Rome. It is very unfortunate because we have visited Osteria da Fortunata several times in the past and genuinely enjoyed both the food and the service. Tonight, however, the cold and poorly cooked pasta, the attitude of the waiter, and the rushed, factory-like atmosphere made this a very disappointing experience.

The bread basket was delicious served warm with amazing crust. The pasta was a tad undercooked but was the best tasting sauce ever. The melon sauce entirely new and never seen of heard of before. They took "summer melon" which I was told was cantaloupe. It was cut into 1/8 inch teeny tiny cubes and simmered for a long time until very soft and the sweetness a little washed out. It was sooo good. The braised beef was cooked to perfection, the sauce was delectable and the sides were great. The mozzarella and tomato was amazing too. Perfectly seasoned and the tomatoes were conscientiously sliced. 1000% suggest this restaurant

Our hotel manager had suggested another restaurant, but I was apprehensive to try, but did later, more on that restaurant review in it's own post. I rather did what I should have done throughout the trip to, which is to search google for local reviews. This tactic I found to be much better than to trust American reviews for restaurants to visit from Youtube or even here, just because the American touristy taste tends to favor bland or Olive Garden style pseudo Italian. The real Italian taste is much different and something one needs to develop. I was familiar with European Italian food, as I had said before in other reviews that Mexico has better Italian food outside of Italy. Additionally, the good restaurants here in Italy do not open before 7 PM. If it does or if someone that looks foreign to Italy is outside trying to lure you in, it's a tourist restaurant with iffy flavor. At this restaurant my husband had the Lobster pasta and I had the spinach/ricotta ravioli, and we both were beyond satisfied. We also had the artichoke as an appetizer, and trusted the waiter with his suggestion for a bottle of wine. He must have been some genius because the wine went well with our meal. The ambience was cozy and very family oriented, however, the rain outside made it romantic for us. Another key point for this restaurant and it traditional flare was that they brought out the olive oil and red vinegar for our salad and of course olive oil for our wonderful home-made bread. I'm so glad we chose this place for those of us Americans who understand culinary cuisine.

Being new to Rome, and having walked 20k steps on our first day, there are an abundance of options a for dining. We wanted something classically Rome nearby to our hotel. The Yelp review of this restaurant was sufficiently positive to entice us. Being American, we appreciate the earlier-than-customary dining options. We arrived at 6pm without a reservation. We were seated immediately. The restaurant is intimate and very well staffed. The wood fire oven is front-and-center and the fresh mozzarella is prominent in display. We ordered a bottle of wine ... all options are very fairly priced. This is nice. We started with a Greek salad to share. It was unlike any American Greek salad ... and a really delight. It is early June but the tomatoes and peppers were ripe and crisp and really fresh. My wife ordered the Marguerite pizza; I opted for the Gorgonzola pizza (the effusive review on Yelp was compelling). Both were solid. We appreciate the thin crust and the crisp edged. The center of both, however, was doughy and somewhat undercooked. Looking around ... the restaurant was over 50% full even at this early hour. Most were Americans. We saw a good number of diners with pasta dishes ... and none were left unfinished. Sadly, we don't have any comparisons to weigh (yet). So, I cannot affirm any "best of" citations, it this is certainly a solid trattoria/pizzeria. The staff are attentive and the food served hot and fresh.

I have never seen so much salmon on one plate. After our meal, I made a discreet phone call to the Norwegian embassy in Rome asking them if they still had any salmon left. The woman at the embassy assured me the Norwegian salmon supply was fine. That surprises me given all the salmon that was on my wife's pizza.
