Great experience, delicious food and atmosphere was super nice ! Hostess was very pleasant . I loved all the dishes she suggested!

Food was good- some things better than others. Really enjoyed the taste and texture of the melon pasta. Tasted like a vodka (pink) sauce. Braised beef was also good. The veal was a bit toi tough. The carbonara was a bit too a dente for my liking. Shaved Artchoke was refreshing and crunchy. Desserts were fabulous! We ordered the chocolate lava souffle and the creme brulee which is not the typical but wonderful. Ambience was nice, mosern contemporary chic. We came shortly after opening and walked in with the owner who was very hospitable and friendly. Service was unbeatable-5 stars.. servers were extremely attentive..

I had been in Italy for 2 days and was severely disappointed in the food situation. Place after place was just... meh. My hope was dwindling that I would find the magic of Italian food here in Italy... but then!, Osteria came along and turned it all around. Literally the best meal we had in Rome so far and one of the top Italian meals we have ever had. Not only was the food fresh, delicious, and high quality, but the owners were two of the most warm, delightful, friendly people I have ever met. We were greeted with such hospitality , offered lots of suggestions, and had such a lovely conversation with them both. If you're in Rome, and want a delicious meal from extremely caring owners this is the place! Thank you, Osteria, you restored my faith in the food aspect of the trip.

This is a beautiful historic building and restaurant!

Hidden on a side street, without Yelp friends we would have never seen it. This is the real Rome Italy deal!! Osteria is an over the top hidden gem. We started with the Filet Carpaccio. 5 Stars!! Second course was the Lasagna Bolognese. 5 efn Stars with house made pasta and sauce! Dessert was the real Italian Tiramisu. Not a custard but more of a pudding. 5 Stars. We are hooked on Rome! Come visit and feast like no other place in the world! The wine, food, people and countryside is like nothing you can imagine. Unbelievable and highly recommended!

We found this restaurant through YELP and walked over from our hotel. We walked in and the owner greeted us with gusto and offered a glass of Prosecco. The ambiance is comfortable and light and we loved the menu. We enjoyed the beef carpaccio with truffles the home made bread and the lasagna. Delicious home made pasta !!! We finished up with the best tiramisu I have ever had served in a coffee cup . The owner offered is a little lemoncello that we enjoyed very much!!! Our servers Vincent and Margarita were very helpful and service was 5 star. As the sun was setting we walked back to La Flora hotel and enjoyed their rooftop bar.

This place was fantastic! Being tourist I found it difficult to find really good restaurants in Rome of quality. This place did not disappoint and was the BEST restaurant we ate at in Rome. 10/10. The ambiance and service was beautiful. The food was incredible!!

Quarantaquattro!!! The 44! The food, the food and the food. Service is good. Ambiance is just Roman casual. Warm and inviting depends on the time. They have patio seats/ cover charge obviously. Best part about this place: half portion everything! I'm the type of person that orders the entire menu every time. But can never eat it all or even half. But here, I can fuel my big eyes and curiosity of ordering everything without having so much left over. The pesto! It's what they are known for. I'm not a pesto girl but I tried it. It's good. Not into pine nuts. But I love many primi piattis! The lemon fettuccine was so refreshing: I can shower in it. As well as their carbonara or the tartuffo tonarelli. Just yummm Love the Sparda ( sword fish), half portion of veal too. I want a bite of everything and this time, I took a few bites. It was that good. Ended with the lemon cello ( complimenti!) and delicious wine. Didn't have room for dessert but it look so good too. Such a fun place from start to finish.

We decided on this great restaurant for our 29th wedding anniversary dinner. We were welcomed to a great table for two in the corner and enjoyed the ambiance. Our waiter was superb as the wine recommendation was incredible as was the tasting menu we enjoyed. The off menu lemon pasta was one of the best dishes I have ever had. My mouth waters even writing about it. All courses were incredible. The service was perfection, and the way they spoiled us was unforgettable. When in Rome, this is a must try.

I'm super happy I found this place! Wonderful setting located in an "alley" in what seems like a smaller neighborhood. Excellent fresh food with an amazing creative chef behind it all. I loved the seared tuna and the artichoke salad. I've never had artichoke cut up that way. Great way to spend the evening! Wonderful wine list as well.

Risotto with melon and other citrus fruits - AMAZING!
    Erin L.

The risotto with the fruit was AMAZING! We opted to come here after finding another restaurant (Rifugio Romano) with a long waitlist. So glad we did! Quickly seated, and staff was friendly and curious about us. Treated us to a sip of champagne to really kick off a great meal! The risotto was one of my favorite dishes in Rome! I could have fallen into a tourist trap saying here but I certainly can't find anything like this in the states. Gnocchi was also delicious with clams and walnuts! The walnuts gave the dish a contrast to the fishy taste. Both great hits and decent portion sizes. Very happy with this restaurant, certainly recommending this to other Rome-goers

I was searching for a nice Italian restaurant with great reviews, and I can see why they are so highly recommended. My wife and I were warmly welcomed by the owner Sergio, upon arrival and were seated immediately and our server "Margarita" was very attentive and helpful. The place was very clean and was playing the Beatles in honor of John Lennon's birthday. They have an extensive collection of wines. My wife and I ordered saffron pasta plus pesto pasta, which they split into 2 plates for sharing. As for the main course, I ordered the beef fillet with truffles which literally melted in my mouth but the best part was that my wife did not want beef or seafood, so the chef made a special lemon chicken dish for her. The dessert was cheese cake and sorbet. If you are ever in Rome, make sure that you visit this place.

Cute little restaurant in the middle of Rome Italy. It s was walking distance from many of the nearby hotels so I am sure this is where they get a lot of people. If I'm being perfectly honest, they were a bit more higher priced than many of the other restaurants we went to, but they are on the fancier side and the food was good. They suggested the artichoke salad to start which was lovely and a fresh start to the heavy pasta I was about to intake. I got a pesto pasta with a noddle that uses no egg. It was a lot of good and after the salad and the bread, I could only eat about half but it was delicious. They had both indoor and outdoor seating and a nice selection of wines.

Very Disappointing Experience - Osteria da Fortunata, Pantheon Location…read more We have visited Rome several times and have eaten at Osteria da Fortunata della Cancelleria on Via della Cancelleria. During our previous visits, we had excellent experiences with both the food and the customer service, which is why tonight's experience was especially disappointing. We ordered the carbonara and spaghetti, and unfortunately, the pasta was undercooked, very chewy, and cold. It was not at all the quality we had experienced during our previous visits. When we asked the waiter to take the carbonara back because it was not edible, his attitude was extremely disappointing. Rather than offering to replace the dish or addressing our concern professionally, he told us that the manager had approved it and that we could simply take the food home. What made the experience even worse was the atmosphere of this location. The restaurant felt more like a factory than an authentic Italian dining experience. We noticed the staff using walkie-talkies to communicate with the host, and as soon as customers left their tables, the waiter would communicate with the host to immediately send new customers in to fill the space. It gave us the impression that the priority was turning tables over as quickly as possible rather than providing guests with a pleasant dining experience. The constant rush was noticeable and took away from what should have been an enjoyable meal in Rome. It is very unfortunate because we have visited Osteria da Fortunata several times in the past and genuinely enjoyed both the food and the service. Tonight, however, the cold and poorly cooked pasta, the attitude of the waiter, and the rushed, factory-like atmosphere made this a very disappointing experience.

Our hotel manager had suggested another restaurant, but I was apprehensive to try, but did later, more on that restaurant review in it's own post. I rather did what I should have done throughout the trip to, which is to search google for local reviews. This tactic I found to be much better than to trust American reviews for restaurants to visit from Youtube or even here, just because the American touristy taste tends to favor bland or Olive Garden style pseudo Italian. The real Italian taste is much different and something one needs to develop. I was familiar with European Italian food, as I had said before in other reviews that Mexico has better Italian food outside of Italy. Additionally, the good restaurants here in Italy do not open before 7 PM. If it does or if someone that looks foreign to Italy is outside trying to lure you in, it's a tourist restaurant with iffy flavor. At this restaurant my husband had the Lobster pasta and I had the spinach/ricotta ravioli, and we both were beyond satisfied. We also had the artichoke as an appetizer, and trusted the waiter with his suggestion for a bottle of wine. He must have been some genius because the wine went well with our meal. The ambience was cozy and very family oriented, however, the rain outside made it romantic for us. Another key point for this restaurant and it traditional flare was that they brought out the olive oil and red vinegar for our salad and of course olive oil for our wonderful home-made bread. I'm so glad we chose this place for those of us Americans who understand culinary cuisine.

Being new to Rome, and having walked 20k steps on our first day, there are an abundance of options a for dining. We wanted something classically Rome nearby to our hotel. The Yelp review of this restaurant was sufficiently positive to entice us. Being American, we appreciate the earlier-than-customary dining options. We arrived at 6pm without a reservation. We were seated immediately. The restaurant is intimate and very well staffed. The wood fire oven is front-and-center and the fresh mozzarella is prominent in display. We ordered a bottle of wine ... all options are very fairly priced. This is nice. We started with a Greek salad to share. It was unlike any American Greek salad ... and a really delight. It is early June but the tomatoes and peppers were ripe and crisp and really fresh. My wife ordered the Marguerite pizza; I opted for the Gorgonzola pizza (the effusive review on Yelp was compelling). Both were solid. We appreciate the thin crust and the crisp edged. The center of both, however, was doughy and somewhat undercooked. Looking around ... the restaurant was over 50% full even at this early hour. Most were Americans. We saw a good number of diners with pasta dishes ... and none were left unfinished. Sadly, we don't have any comparisons to weigh (yet). So, I cannot affirm any "best of" citations, it this is certainly a solid trattoria/pizzeria. The staff are attentive and the food served hot and fresh.
