Last night I went to Tarrytown Music Hall for the first time to see Kathy Griffin perform. It was a…read moregreat show and I had a good time. I'm glad I got to see her at this historic venue. However, I wish I had read reviews about the seating before I bought my tickets. We had two balcony seats. The view was great, but the seats themselves were uncomfortable. Sitting for 2+ hours for the comedy act was tough, especially towards the end. I wasn't affected too much, but I felt bad for my husband because the woman seated in the row in front of him kept whipping her hair back and it hitting him. It wasn't intentional on her part, just the situation. The seats are very close together, even row to row. The marquee from the outside looks great, and the inside has a charm with framed posters of past performers on the walls, antique furniture, and the cut-out wall decorations lining some of the walkways, etc. Bar is upstairs. Bathrooms are ground level. The woman who directed us to our seats was friendly. Overall, most staff were pleasant and helpful. Earlier, there seemed to be a little confusion with the crowd when doors opened. It was nice that staff let people into the lobby since it was cold outside, but there wasn't clear line control. You could sense some of the crowd was a little put off waiting in close quarters with one another. But once doors really opened, it was all good.

I have also participated in three of the five summer alumni reviews, and my family members and friends continue to be part of the LVP community to this day. In short, my family and I are lifetime customers of LVP's product: a fun and high-quality musical and theatrical outlet in Northern Westchester. But in long, I have gained so much more from the LVP community. LVP is unique in Northern Westchester in its unparalleled programming, propelled by innovative and thought-provoking material and inspiring, fun, and caring personnel. Adam, Steph, Galit, Amy, Marcus, Jocelyn, and all members of the LVP faculty helped me to understand the difficult material we were working with, as well as helped me to loosen the chains of my timidness and to express myself in ways I never thought possible. Without question, LVP is one of the pivotal organizations in my life that helped me to define who I am. My wonderful experiences helped me to realize that I forever want to be part of the performing arts, and my returning to shows in the seven years since my graduation from LVP and seeing young students grow helped me to identify my passion for music education. I use much of what I learned from LVP faculty in my elementary music lessons in my career today. Overall, the artistic education I received at LVP is priceless, and in my returning to participate in alumni shows and in attending performances, I have seen that LVP in its growth and expansion has not lost sight of its goals of eleven years. I HIGHLY recommend LVP to any families in Central and Northern Westchester who want to participate in a meaningful and unique theatrical experience. I recommend it for those children that are shy and timid and looking for a safe environment to express themselves. Everyone I know who I have recruited to join LVP has been hooked for life, and I know you will too.

Between the actors knowing when to move to other people and when to gather around. There was one part with a few actors who ignored my girlfriend as she ran an went straight for me, holding me agenst the fence as others went by and me being scared out my mind. Finally getting away they again cornered me as my girlfriend laughed away at the entrance to the next area. Between jump scares, hidden areas where ghosts an ghouls jump out of that you don't expect this place is worth every dime you pay for. When we complained we were told that the kids were quiet when they were in the theatre, but were running around outside the room. Thats a problem! But actually we were in the last row of the adjoining theater and we could hear them in the room itself. So there is that. We all also thought it was unusual to exit the theater and walk-through the main bar/lobby to leave and see one of the staff men sitting at the bar with an undershirt tank top on. First of all it isn't the summer, but even still aren't they expected to wear their uniforms while on duty? It was very unusual.

The only negative was the fact people (adults) sat on the one side and let their kids go ape $#*! on the other side! Remember, this is a SMALL venue. It reminded me of what I hate about a similar cinema in Pleasantville -- a lot of privileged people on their phones, feet on the chairs, talking... but I digress! Anyway, I can't wait to go back and see something else, and hopefully in the same theater. If I see kids again, I'm getting my money back! We have been participating since 2005 or so, probably soon after they opened in Elmsford. I was…read morehappy they moved closer to us because I am not one for lengthy commutes. I think they started in upper Westchester maybe in Chappaqua, by a young Anya Wallach who might have been still a teenager, she wrote an autobiography and she is cute as a button. There are people who love so much how they run their programs here at RFK that these parents drive out from NJ and CT. They have different programs, my kid started as a Jelly Bean, then she went to join a different group for a few years, we returned, I was surprised they remembered her and me, she did a year of New Kid, and she has done a few mainstages, because she wanted to do certain shows and hoped to get certain characters. At RFK, they remind us of there are no small roles, every character is important. They are extremely positive here. I am not sure how many more years we will stay with them, all depends if she goes to college locally or too far away. She is hoping to get into one of these fiercely competitive BFA or Conservatory programs. I also love how they have a photographer who helps with amazing professional headshots at a good, decent price, am thankful for that. I believe RFK have the resources to help kids have an opportunity to get to NYC's Broadway. We have not tried but I have seen plenty of other kids from RFK do Broadway shows, television shows, commercials, etc. I would like to add that I am thoroughly happy that the performances are at the Tarrytown Music Hall, an historical stage close to my heart, that was saved by the Riegleson family (look up Mozartina Conservatory on Prospect Ave), 2nd generation taken over and doing a marvelous job of getting great shows to Tarrytown.

This is a very child-centered organization with the focus on helping the kids be the best they can be in a very supportive environment. It is a great place to start if your child has no experience and to develop and grow as they improve. The audition processes for mainstages and workshops are very fair and there is a great mix of professional and nonprofessional kids. Casing is also equitable and there is no favoritism. Our kids will be doing Random Farms programs for many years to come. Of the youth theatre opportunities in the New York area, this is the best we have found for our children.

I want to get strong now to prevent any of that happening in my future and I am so glad I decided to try some classes. I am currently taking Zumba Gold and Tai Chi and really loving both. I have absolutely noticed how my legs have gotten stronger and I feel more confident walking with improved posture and balance. Molly Roffman, the owner and instructor at StepWISEnow, is a physical therapist. She is so knowledgable about balance and fall risk and gives talks to medical professionals about its importance. Molly is an excellent and patient instructor. Her enthusiasm is infectious and when we're doing Zumba Gold, it's so much fun, you don't even feel like you're working out. Tai Chi class has made me stronger and feel so graceful, which is something new for me. If you have been thinking about your balance or have friends or relatives you might be concerned about, you need to come here. It's a warm, comforting and supportive place. Molly also offers a separate workshop on balance training, which has been very popular in the studio. Our neighborhood is so lucky to have StepWISEnow. StepWISEnow is really a unique fitness studio. I just came out of chair yoga and got a real…read moreworkout. I enjoy most learning tai chi which is amazing when practiced 2+ times a week, improving balance, improving strength. It's very calming, especially doing it in a group! And Molly is a wonderful instructor who offers a deep yet practical knowledge and makes it accessible to all. I started last spring because of some osteoarthritis and feel so much better, my pain is much much less, and I move better, too. If you are over 55, check this studio in Ossining out! Lots of class offereings -- line dancing, chair yoga, zumba gold that gets your heart pumping, etc. Honestly, I'm so happy it's in my neighborhood!
