He was very professional, clearly an expert in his field. I met his wife at that time, and she made me feel like an intruder, however, Jim made up for that with his kindness to us. His daughter was the same - lovely. This year I called to have my taxes done again. Cindy answered the phone. I have never been treated so rudely. She acted like I was interrupting her life. She literally raised her voice at me when I asked if Jim would be available to do my taxes again. I asked to speak with Jim. She said that she does all intake, Jim does not speak to customers. I was so shaken by her vicious attitude, I was speechless. I wouldn't even tell her my name at that point. Just horrifying. l contacted the person who first recommended me to Jim, and that person told me that since Cindy Gardner started screening Jim's calls, she has dealt out this kind of abuse to his customers. Apparently she is loathed by his customers. Mr. Gardner, this ugly, nasty, bitter troll is driving away business. This is a shame, because you are a pleasure. I will take my business elsewhere.

I deeply regret not reading reviews for Kim prior to engaging her to do my 2022 taxes. She is…read moremarried to a high school friend of my father's, and offered her services when they reconnected. If this is how she treats individuals she has personal ties with, I can't imagine how she acts with strangers. The upshot of it all is that she made an error on my return - one that I questioned numerous times, but she assured me was correct. Although it seemed inaccurate (as someone who never owed more than a couple thousand, I owed nearly $50k, a huge surprise), I eventually allowed Kim to file. Fast forward a few months, and I reached out to a tax preparer friend for assistance planning for 2023 taxes (not wanting to be taken by surprise again). She reviewed my taxes and came to the same conclusion that Kim had made an error. Revising the return would be a refund of nearly $40k. I immediately reached out to Kim & we began a game of cat and mouse I am still playing today. I do not wish to pay another couple hundred dollars to have someone else recreate my return on order for me to amend it. I simply need Kim to update a couple numbers and refile. But she has ignored me steadfastly for almost four months. I have sent daily emails for the past months, weekly prior to that, and call at least once a week. Occasionally, she will provide some excuse (sick, out of town, etc) and say she'd respond next week. But she would never respond, and I would continue my calls and emails. At this point, I haven't heard from her since Christmas (3 months ago). To be clear, I am not angry about the error. While annoying, it can easily be fixed and caused no lasting financial damage or stress. However, working with Kim (even on the original return) has been an unbelievable headache. How someone can conduct a business without being reachable or reliable is beyond me. It is entirely unprofessional and rude. At this point, all I am asking when I reach out to her is for her to let me know what software she used and if I can have the working file so I don't have to start from scratch. She can't even deign to respond to me. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB and anywhere else I can warn others of this gross negligence and unprofessional conduct.

I recently had my 25 return completed by a CPA in an office in a building in Redlands, not a back bedroom where Mr. Hobbs completes his meetings with clients. The return was as non complicated as other returns with Mr. Hobbs. Cost $300.00 for my 25 return.
