Tax Tiger is wonderful! Don't even hesitate to enlist their help! I first used them in 2010 to resolve a multi-year tax issue. I supplied the financial information whenever it was requested, and they did everything else for me; stopping the IRS from levying my account and fully representing me to the IRS and the local FTB. Benefit for me was that where the IRS would have exploited my limited knowledge of tax law and the workings of the tax system to leverage (and perhaps bully) me into an unfavorable settlement (and we're all heard the horror stories...), the professionals at Tax Tiger don't get jerked around. They resolved my issue, and I was able to move on with my life, free from worry. Just this month, the bad timing of a couple of events created a little bump in my tax situation. After my initial talk with the IRS, I feared they would seize upon the new situation as an excuse to undo the previous agreement. I was stressed! I called Tax Tiger seeking enlightenment, and was reassured. CEO Kathy Hill met with me herself, a free consultation. She mapped out the process that IRS was legally bound to follow, warned me about common scare tactics that might be employed, showed me the normal no-worry outcome that I should expect, and showed me what exceptions to watch out for (these might require some future action). I am writing this complaint to help others steer clear of this company. Long story short is I hired them for 25k up front, shortly after hiring them I expressed my concern that they were not going to be able to handle my issue. They assured me they could and leaned on faith to reassure me. They did not resolve my issue, and when asked for a refund they stood behind made up accountings of the time it took, and told me because of the time they have put into the case, there would be no refund issued. Avoid this company at all costs, or you may very well be out 25k like my wife and I are and then they will try to bully you into submission. I am not satisfied with the efforts the company took to resolve my issue. Nor am I satisfied with the service received. Nor am I satisfied with the work completed. Money is clearly their top motive, not client resolution, or their reputation, chock this one up throwing money into a fire pit. What they do may not be illegal, but it sure feels unethical. I Have been using this company for 3 years. Supposedly she was taking care of my previous tax years, lies lies lies. Just got a bill for those same years i cut checks for. Then her team has been filing my taxes incorrectly for 3 years. If your team doesn't know how to deal with different types of stocks, you shouldn't take their money. I can't believe I am saying this - but I am glad that I was audited by the IRS a couple of years ago! Yes, of course, it was stressful. Getting an audit letter from the IRS is how nightmares begin. However, without the audit, I likely would not have heard or hired Tax Tiger. I did contact a few other tax attorneys prior to finding Tax Tiger, and they all just seemed disingenuous. That was not the case with Tax Tiger - Brittany at Tax Tiger greatly helped me in dealing with the audit itself by patiently walking me through the entire process, which saved me big time! DON'T DO IT! First of all this woman starts out by calling all the other attorneys out there Schisters... haha what a joke. She is the biggest Schister there is! And she calls herself a Christian... that's why I don't trust Christians to begin with. So here's how it is folks. If you owe the IRS you owe the IRS. Just call them. They are more than willing to work out payment plans with you and they charge waaaaay less than this woman. She wanted to charge me 2200 for a 7000 IRS bill. This firm is a scam. They lure you in making it seem they will get it resolved until you make the very last payment which is a year then come back with your claim was denied by the IRS. I don't even think they went to actual court to resolve it. You know how I resolved it after getting suckered into paying 2,500? I filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Then I got it resolved. First things first. Spoke with Christian and provided all the documents requested. I'm then told I have a case for debt relief. I give the requested down and we set up a payment plan for their services. After that, I get a call from them saying I don't qualify for the debt relief. So they charge me 5200.00 to get me on a payment plan with the IRS. I could've hired some money guy to do it for a couple hundred "my bad". I received several calls and e-mails telling me I can't cancel and should reconsider. I was referred to Cathy by someone who had a messy tax situation, but my situation was less complicated, just some unfiled years. Cathy set up my appointment, I hauled all my paperwork over there. She told me what she was going to do for me and the price. I went home thought about the time and effort to do it myself and decided to sign up, but honestly I would rather go to the dentist then do my taxes!!! When I went back to pay, I reviewed what I expected with her just to confirm. It was pretty straightforward. Tax Tiger undersold and over delivered!!! I had a Federal Tax Liability of $143,148 from 2013, 2014 & 2015. I owed this from self-employment tax along with early 401k disbursements and didn't know where to turn. I buried my head in the sand and didn't respond to the IRS. The IRS threatened Judgements on my real property and bank levies. They restricted my Passport and I felt helpless. I was referred by a friend to Tax Tiger as Kathy Hill was empathetic, understanding as I felt confident her team would help me through this dark time. Kathy said I should qualify for the IRS's offer and compromise program, as I was still sceptical. I was assigned to Kelly Matney EQ, as she walked me through their gameplan and each step. I received bad news as I wasn't eligible based on an obscure tax law. Kathy recommended for me to pursue an appeal as well as another gameplan if I wasn't denied again. Kelly consulted with me as to the appeal process and in December I received my results back... My appeal was accepted and I owe $20.00!!! Yes, this is true!!! Horrible. I sent in all my tax documents and had to constantly call them to ask when someone will reach out to me. They had a million excuses and blamed it on moving or the fact that they only had one tax person working. The manager lady was extremely rude. Many months later after I asked for my documents to be returned they never mailed them back to me. This is the worst customer service. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these people. Make sure you ask for the cost of all step along the way...I will start out like a $2500.00 initial charge on your CCard to get IRS to stop collecting, and then another $5900.00 down the line if you want to continue negotiating with IRS(this part was not disclosed) ...of course the success rate is high but no guarantee....and BTW IRS will put a lien on your house when you do the first step( this was not disclosed). Please do your research a head of time and don't rely on their competent 100% make sure you call and get verbal confirmation everytime you send and email, also, make sure to confirm all personal information and signatures on the initial intake appt. one misplaced signature can ended up multiples emails and scanned / faxes later. Maybe I was just not lucky. IRS did stop collecting at the end for 1 year , now I'm shopping Elsewhere for the second part. Okay...I got into a real bad tax jam a couple years ago, the $50K kind. After stressing for a couple of those years, I saw an ad for Tax Tiger. I was impressed that they had an A+ BBB rating so I decided to go in for a consultation. I was expecting to get a lecture on how a grown man could be so stupid as to get in a fix like this and I was greeted by the owner Kathy who couldn't have been more nicer and non judgemental. She instantly set my mind at ease and guided me through the process of dealing with the IRS. I provided the information and Kathy's team did the rest. Its a long process but they were always available to answer my silly questions and put my mind at ease. In the end I settled my IRS tax issue for a very miniscule amount and a big black cloud has been removed from my life. We hired Tax Tiger on 8/20/12 to resolve some issues regarding Federal and CA State Taxes. At that point, Tax Tiger became our agent and controlled all correspondence with both of those agencies. At appropriate points, we were told to file certain documents, and we did. Any time we received a document from one of the tax agencies we simply faxed them to Tax Tiger and had them deal with it. What a relief. In Jan 2013, we resolved the debt with the Franchise Tax Board. On April 1, we resolved the debt with the IRS. Feels like a giant weight has been lifted from our shoulders. The price they charge is not inexpensive, and the prices for Federal do not include state. That said, I felt the charge was appropriate for the services they delivered. I think the secret to working with Tax Tiger is to trust them as your agent and do what they tell you. Take no action with either the IRS or FTB after you've hired them without their concurrence. Hats off to Dan Tomlinson and Ann Lee--two professionals and really nice folks. Others say you can do this yourself. I believe that is true. All I can say, after going through the entire process, is that I would not do it myself. There are a lot of potholes in the process. Tax Tiger knows where they are and kept me from stepping in them. Tax Tiger literally kept me from living on the streets. I was self employed for many years. Until one day a young man decided to drive on the wrong side of the road, I never saw him coming. Long story short, I lost everything. I spent several years in and out of the hospital. In the mist of all this IRS informed me I need to pay thousands and thousands of dollars, or they would levy my disability for almost half of what I received every month for life. I tried putting together receipts in between surgeries, but I just couldn't defend myself in the time spand I was given. I was beside myself. Days before the levy I was desperate!!! If you need to make payment arrangements with IRS, do it yourself with an IRS person. This company will charge you a thousand or more to do what you can do yourself, in-person or online. The salesperson probably won't even tell you that you still have to pay the IRS user fee of $105 on top of what you have to pay TaxTiger. If you hire them & then change your mind, try getting your money back...good luck. If you need an offer in compromise with Franchise Tax Board, they'll take your money without telling you that FTB will probably NEVER grant you an offer in compromise because they have 20 years to collect from you & can wait you out with bank and wage levies. You have to be practically dying and very old before you'll get this relief. I spent a lot of money to this firm, with no offer in compromise at FTB and a payment plan that I could not afford. I finally got a payment plan with both IRS & FTB that I could live with and I did it myself, no thanks to TaxTiger. Stay away from them. Keep your money or use it to pay some of the tax you owe. read more
