Been going to this place for years, recommend this place. No compensation. That's fine, because service use to be good Married couple doing taxes together, they separated and the female tax preparer isn't even in the office anymore Over the years service went down. Lack of communication about questions. Texted multiple times last year during pandemic never got a response This year the male tax guy is never in the office, no secretary. If you want your tax return done right, give them a call. My husband is a long haul truck driver and it takes a professional to do our return. People show their true colors when an issue arises. I used Tax Wizards for several years and didn't have an issue, that is until I received a letter from the IRS that I owed additional monies from my taxes filed by them in 2014. When I reached out to them for assistance/guidance they were delayed in responding (the IRS doesn't wait for a response and you have to meet their deadlines). They sent me a form that I should have received and completed in 2014, when my taxes were submitted and now want an additional $150 per hour, to "assist" me with responding to the IRS. I thought the $300 I paid them in 2014, covered them responding to the IRS. That is the purpose of using a tax "professional" to protect you and respond to these type of inquiries. Consumer beware, not only are they expensive, they take your money and don't help or communicate. I never got a call back and the email response were two words. Very unprofessional and zero "customer service". Not what I expected after being a loyal customer for several years. If I could give zero stars, I would. read more

Poor unreliable service! When people use CPA to file taxes, we hope they can help us to file it correctly and save us some money in the process. I expect my CPA to help me find the savings, not the IRS. I received refund checks from the IRS after I paid my taxes. Hard to get hold of them to respond sometimes since they are out of town for several months in a year. read more

They just suck, so unprofessional. It was difficult to get the right information when I initially made an appointment. I have always worked with CPAs and they usually provide a workbook or questionnaire. I asked for one and was told one may or may not be emailed ahead of time. I found this to be a waste of time but arrived for my appointment. Well of course I didn't have any of the required information, so I took their basic intake form with me and rescheduled. Unfortunately I was very sick the day of my appointment. So I delivered my papers 75minutes prior to my meeting and requested a phone meeting as I was returning from the doctors. I received no call. I called and was told I would be called the next day. So I passed out sick. The next day I called 3-4 times no one called me back, I was still ill. That was April 15th. I knew my taxes were not filed. So I went to pick up my documents to find a new accountant. WASTE OF TIME. VERY POOR COMMUNICATION. This group is disorganized and pretty unprofessional, Melanie wanted an argument, I said I just want my documents. I don't want to do business with you. read more

Finally bit the bullet and got my taxes done ya'll! Was referred here by a coworker after venting my frustrations at work about another tax prep company and I must say, I'm glad I did. I was very apprehensive coming into this tax season because I knew I had reached a higher tax bracket and just knew I'd end up owing mucho dinero, so I wanted to find a place that could help me reduce what I knew I'd have to fork over. The first place I went to was a huge bust! Made me realize my worst fears! But fortunately it was just a consultation so I grabbed my wallet, my pride, and got my happy [miserable] @$$ out of there as quickly as possible. [A lot of] Venting then ensued which came with the suggestion to go to Tax Wizards. I nervously and reluctantly made an appointment with Melanie, walked in with sweating palms and a heart rate of about what I'm sure was 150, because I just knew my wallet was about to get b!t@% slapped. HOWEVER...I was pleasantly surprised because somehow, someway, Melanie worked her wizardly magic and asked all the right questions that I would never think to include in order to help me, help myself AND...I ended up getting a refund! I can't believe these other 2 reviews. I have have used Tax Wizards for 6 years. Moved from NV and continue to use them in CA. I have never had an issue contacting them, usually respond via email the same day or a call rapidly within a day. Throughout the year if I have a question also get a quick response. The service from both Kurt & Melanie has been unsurpassed. They are very meticulous and get me consistently high returns. I would highly recommend them. read more
