Fast forward 5 months after being "fired" as their client. I paid them to do my taxes for my S Corp and Omar & Albert recommend that I opt into a payment plan with the IRS which we agreed too. They informed me they would set this up back in 2019. Fast forward to 2022, the IRS froze my account and withdrew funds for not paying them. I paid this firm to take care of this for me and they are so sloppy, un-organized and they have no idea what they're doing. I highly urge you to go elsewhere. I would give them zero stars if it was available!!! I have been using Taxco for my company for over 15 years, their service declined every since Omar took over my account. The franchise tax board audited me and I needed all my reports from Taxco for them to proceed. Upon the completion of the audit the a franchise rep notified me that Taxco's accounting had not properly broken down the taxes due for each vehicle as it stated on each estimate of repair( I Own a body shop) Taxco only recorded the checks going into my bank account and money out. We realized that Taxco stopped doing their job correctly from late 2017-2020 Due to this laziness the Franchise Tax Board is charging me $40,000 I immediately contacted Omar and Beatriz at Taxco and very upset I told them the y needed to fix this and they refused. Following it with an email of termination I will proceed with legal action. I not only have them 15 of service I sent them a lot of clients. please be aware of this company we've been with them for several months we were thinking they were helping us and yes they did till a point. BUT we found out some things that were done that weren't supposed to be done within our account . So we told them we were going to move our account because we are not satisfied, we decided to find someone else and When calling them to say thank you for their service and the work they did they hung up then a man that works for the company that I won't say his name called us back and offended my husband Telling my husband that he was stupid and he was smart, saying that he was firing him when in reality we were firing TaXCo . Sorry not sorry . This was not supposed to happen This is NOT the way an accountant is to be allowed to speak to his customers and this is why i am leaving this review. He has no right to speak to people the way does , The young ladies that work for him are truly amazing and very helpful. But this man is horrible and I hope that one day he doesn't come across someone that will speak to him the way he has spoken to his client. STAY away from this company do not use them and I hope that young ladies that work here find a better job you're worth more than this please ......be aware. Oh, I forgot to mention that he said he was still going to be withdrawing money from our accounts, that's called stealing !!!! and that he would not give us back our personal information and our business information . I found mistakes in the tax filing they prepared; they not only refused to correct it but also did not recognize some basic accounting principals pertaining to filing income tax. IRS Audit - Incompetent Returns If Jeanne Carr was still at Taxco, we would not be writing this review. She was an excellent tax preparer. Since she retired and Trai and Marlene took over in 2016, our tax returns are a mess. We only stayed at Taxco because Jeanne promised to review Marlene's work. Unfortunately that did not happen. Our 2016 return was riddled with mistakes and the IRS saw the red flags. After turning to a tax CPA for help with the audit, he confirmed their errors and why we were audited. Needless to say, we have left Taxco for more competent tax preparation services. Probably the most disturbing part, in addition to the audit, is the way Trai and Marlene were not capable of respectful, intelligent and competent communication once the audit started. Their lack of professionalism and accountability underscored that we should have left when Jeanne retired. read more

When I came to do my taxes I was super sick but Luis was really patient with me ! I was a long time client of Jeanne Carr of Taxco. I spent a lot of money with her, and one year she decided to double her fees with me for no reason. When I asked about it, she basically blew me off and showed no concern for my taxes that were due immediately, nor any care for the long term business I brought her. She left me hanging right at tax time. I had to scramble to find a new tax service. As the new person investigated my previous taxes further, it was apparent Jeanne Carr had made tons of mistakes and neglected to file several documents. I was a client of Taxco for more than 10 years and referred several clients to them. For the majority of that time, I was extremely happy with their services, despite some irregularities - for example, during an audit, I was NOT ONCE able to get the accountant handling my audit on the phone. Still, the matter was eventually resolved to my satisfaction, and my taxes were always processed accordingly, so I let it slide. However, over the past year or so their professionalism and accountability has completely gone off the rails. Getting timely responses to emails or return phone calls became a thing of the past. Timely business tax deadlines were missed, office accountants I was dealing with on specific matters, were either fired or quit, or went on vacation for weeks, and no one ever notified me or picked up the slack so many important matters fell through the cracks. Last year, I started an LLC and brought them my business once again. Still, being a personal client for more than a decade and was not enough to get answers or directions on very basic questions. Since January, I had been trying to get advice on a City of Los Angeles tax assessment. An email thread of more than 20 emails over the course of 8 months and half a dozen phone calls yielded no answers or resolution. Today, I called the City myself and got resolution to the issue in about 5 minutes. It was also revealed during the call that no adjustments were ever made on the account and that my profit was listed at more than $2 million dollars (I wish). This was $2 million dollars more than my new business made which had zero income in 2016. Taxco completely dropped the ball and - it appears - was not honest when they said they had contacted the City and worked to resolve it. On a personal level, I liked Jeanne and her staff. Everyone in the office was always polite and courteous to me and I was always courteous in return; one always should be when dealing with matters of money and business. My one-star review reflects not a single incident with them, but a gradual decline of professionalism and accountability that I personally experienced over the course of a year. I can't attest to the reasons why - I honestly have no idea - but I can attest that end result was completely dissatisfactory, and potentially - though thankfully not - at great financial cost to me. I would never recommend the services they provide today. In fact, in posting this Yelp review, I am warning others not to, least they experience the same treatment or lose money in the process. read more
