I have never, ever, in my life, had worse customer service. I lost my phone in this cab and I have never been treated so poorly while trying to find my phone. The girls who answer the phone are completely incompetent and the manager never answers his phone. There is apparently only one person allowed to look in the lost and found box and she was unavailable on a monday. The company was no help over the weekend either, which to me, is probably the busiest time for them. read more

I was driving home from work today and had a American cab in front of me . He drove 10 mph under the speed limit and was constantly hitting the brakes. As we pulled up to the stop light, I was going straight and he was turning right, he flipped me off!!!! Terrible company. I have scheduled transportation for my patient's multiple times with them and they will show up hours before the scheduled appointment and never follow the protocol of calling the facility as they are supposed to and just leave without the patient being picked up. They have a scheduled pick up time for a reason! read more

This service was contracted out through Non Emergency Medical Transportation for my daughter. The rides were turned back (refused) several times at the last minute, and I had to find my own transportation for my daughter MANY days because of this, and that also caused me to miss work. The first time they actually showed up to transport my daughter, they showed up an hour early, and her therapy was not done yet. Then an hour later they returned to pick her up and refused her ride because she was under 18 (she is 17.5 years old). This was never explained to me prior to this, nor did the Transportation company that booked them know of this "rule". It is not a rule through the transportation company...but only this cab company. The next day, a driver AGAIN showed up an hour early for my daughter, even though their services had been cancelled. I was told AGAIN that they would not be able to pick her up because of her age. When I called the Cab company I first spoke to a customer service agent who was rude, and yelled at me, and then hung up on me. When I called back to speak to a supervisor, that person continued to be extremely rude to me, yelled at me, and informed me that they would NEVER give my child a ride anywhere. (WORKS FOR ME THEY SUCK!!). I would NEVER recommend this place, nothing but Ghetto Rejects working there who don't value customer service one bit. read more

Last night I was charge 17 dollars from my home to Mexican Fiesta. Returning home from Mexican Fiesta by a different taxi driver who decided to make extra turns was charge 28 dollars, an 11 dollar difference. This is not the first incident as I previously had a driver acted as if he was lost on his way to UWM from my home, which increased the normal cost from 11 dollars to 22 dollars. The crazy part is that it was the same taxi driver that had taken me to school two weeks prior. He didn't recognize me, but I sure recognized him. Every time I get in contact with America United Taxi Company, they sent me over to a voicemail and never resolve the problem. Here is a little advice, don't create a monopoly and have contracts with the city of Milwaukee to only allow two taxi companies, so there isn't even a greater amount of competition. Especially when you don't attempt to provide excellent customer services. Stop complaining about Uber. what you're losing money? well I'm losing money every time your taxi driver decides to make turns he shouldn't be taking. read more

Worst Service! I had to go to Target for a return, the cabby charged xtra for my son and extra for the small bag, I accidentally left my phone in the car. Called dispatch, the driver refused to.answer, when finally did he charged me an additional 10$ to bring me my phone! Overcharged for a 5$ ride then squeezed me for an addtl 10! read more

American is completely unreliable and untrustworthy. The dispatcher feigns American is working on the problem. This is just as reliable as the taxi showing up as American promised. Called to get a cab, they said if a cab doesn't show up in 20 minutes to give them a call back. 20 minutes later still no cab so I call them back and they said call back in 15 minutes if we still don't have one. In the same stretch of time 3 Uber drivers picked people up. We ended up sharing a cab with someone else after waiting 30 minutes. The cab never showed. read more

I drive a lot for my job so I see a lot of different taxi cabs during the day. These drivers are by far the worst ones. They are always speeding, blowing through lights, swerving in and out of traffic, etc. I personally have never been in their cabs but for seeing how they drive on a daily basis I would never step foot in one of their cars. I even got hit by one today- driver 478. When coming to Milwaukee, do not use this taxi service. You're much better off using Uber or Lyft. read more

Do not trust this company to pick you up. I have used them eight times for airport service and four times they were late. I booked for 6:00AM the night before to go to the airport. I called at 6:00 AM, they said 6 minutes away. At 6:06, they said 18 minutes away and asked if I would cancel as they were busy. They picked me up 6:40. I am going to Uber or Lyft. RUDE DISPATCHER! I made a 4:45 am reservation a day in advance. When the cab did not show I called the company and complained. The dispatcher (which I have the name) said, "You can either listen to the explanation of why the cab is not there, or you can just complain to me. It sounds like you just want to blow off steam. What do you want?" WHO SAYS THAT TO A CUSTOMER? The dispatcher then told me that for the cab to be ONLY TEN MINUTES was "good." Why make the reservation if you can't HOLD a reservation (sounds like a Seinfeld episode). read more

My husband and I hailed a cab ride home from the Amtrak station. We were on our way back from our honeymoon and I was jetlagged and anxious to get home. We got home and about 30 min later I realized I had left my bag in the back of the cab!! Aside from the value it contained, it also held a lot of information of sentimental value from our trip. I was in a state of panic. I called the company and filed a lost and found report but the lost and found office was not open until Monday ( this was a Saturday night) I received a call that it had been returned on Monday afternoon. I picked the bag up and all of my belongings were there!!! The staff that helped me on the phone were so nice, understanding and helpful. And of course, I can not thank the cab driver enough for his honesty and kindness! My trip almost ended devastation but now I can look back on it as just a hiccup. If i could have 0 stars I would. I called the night before for a pick up because I had an appt that i had to be early for and was given a medication that I wasn't supposed to drive on. I set up the pick up earlier than needed figuring if they were a few minutes late it would be fine. I called 10 minutes after the pick they said my order wasn't put in til 8:35 that morning and I had to be picked up at 8:50. They said call back in 5-10 minutes. I gave them 5 more minutes called back and they said it would be at least 10 minutes. I told them that I had to get to where I was going by 9:30 and they said Oh well you will just be late. I hung up at that point and drove my self. They called me after I had already arrived and 2 minutes before my appointment confirming the pick up. 40 minutes late for an advance pick it is bs and the attitude of the people about you being late to appointments is very nonchalant. Basically they don't care about you or your appoint or why you need the cab. I will never use this cab company again and strongly advise everyone out there to not use it either. read more
