ABSOLUTE GARBAGE!! The Thor appliance website sent me to them when I requested help with a failed lighting system in my vent-a-hood. They told me on the phone it would be $100 to assess the issue. I was later charged $125, supposedly because the assessment was more in depth. LIES!! I took the filter out and could immediately see the heat damage on an electric box inside. What's "in depth" about that??? They sent me an estimate that included $450 for labor. This repair would have taken less than an hour. $450/hour for labor??? LIES!! The estimate they sent me had three line-items: Labor: $450 LED Driver: $260 APV-12-12 MEAN WELL Mouser $245 Guess what?? The APV-12-12 IS the LED DRIVER!!! I needed repairs made to my GE stove. The relay switches and receptacles were worn out. This was a safety issue for me because the burners were overheating, tripping the circuit breaker or not functioning at all. Appointment was 10:30-11:30. A lady calls me @ 9:38 to ask if it's ok for tech to come early. I said yes. She says he'll be at my house in 15-20 minutes. (10:00 am) He shows up at 11. He said he was on another job. I understood on the way. Anyway he did have an overall good attitude and knowledgeable of washer. He was just unable to fix. The lid lock wouldn't open manually. In August, I contacted this company because our ice maker in the refrigerator was not working. To make a long story short, a technician came out three times. They replaced the ice unit twice and installed an uneeded water valve of some sort. We paid close to $600, and never got a working ice machine. Had guy come out to fix ice maker and to see why freezer not defrosting. When he left the ice maker was working and too soon to see if freezer was working. I hour after he left ice maker not working. After trying to get him to come back he said he did not want to work with me any more. Another guy came and fixed the ice maker and too soon to see if freezer was. Well the freezer is not defrosting. After 3 call and 3 texted no response from the anyone. This has been over a period of a month. Not the service I expected. In the end, they busted one of the burners. They did, after a little discussion, offer to refund me 450 off the amount that I had already paid them. I won't be using them again. As of this date, July 26, 2025, they have not refunded any money to me. After not fixing the original problem, I went on eBay and purchased a used replacement that functions similarly to the one they didn't fix. Don't waste your time; find another repair service. needed ice maker fixed. They came out 5 times I finally had them just replace the old ice maker. They replaced the valve and now the old ice maker works. The repair tech himself was nice but the man who answers the phone lied to me many times. I was charged $540. I was told the service charge would be $175 and the part $ $340?. My kitchen floor was flooded 3 times. I sent the new ice maker back and am waiting on a refund. I looked up the prices from Maytag and the total came to $287,00. Gentlemen were very nice but I believe using unethical business practices to increase service charges. I requested Taylor Made to come out and fix my icemaker which was no longer working. My freezer was working fine. They came out and confirmed I needed a new icemaker and ordered the part and charged me $1,000 for the part plus install. They claimed that subzero parts were expensive. A day later (while waiting on the part). My freezer stopped working and $500 worth of food spoiled. After doing further research I see that this is common for Taylor Made when working on icemakers. Based on previous reviews it seems when Taylor Made is working on icemakers that other issues start "popping up" after their first diagnosis appointment. After seeing these reviews I immediately requested a refund for all services and I am currently waiting on that to go through. It has only been a few hours but they did agree to a partial refund via text. I am interested to see what kind of refund will be provided and if any. I was able to get a new company to come out and they confirmed that the thermostat was simply unplugged causing the freezer to stop working. They also believe that the icemaker will only cost a $100 bucks or so. Based off my experience and the reviews shared, I believe that Taylor Made Appliance repair is fraudulently servicing customers in the Memphis area by overcharging, sabotaging appliances at inspection and misdiagnosing appliance failures. I called them to see if they could fix my freezer that was not freezing. They found that I've had frost on the back and removed it for $308. However, it did not freeze. I called them back and they promised to come the next day to check and stated it was probably the compressor. They never showed up and now through an honest repairman found the defrost timer had stopped working. That should have been checked and replaced at the time Taylor Made was here. Now I am out another $200 to get it fixed. Would not recommend them at all. I was lied to. read more
