I know, how annoying it is that I keep writing updates. But I wanted to make sure I update on how fantastic our trip was. Our giant group of several families stayed in the Kendall Camp Community, renting both houses of the duplex (All Season's Pass and Touch the Sky), which we LOVED. Both houses were clean, fully stocked, and a lot more space than the pictures even show. The houses didn't even feel like a duplex, everyone had room to hang together or on their own. There was enough space in the complex for the kids to enjoy themselves. read more

I really wanted to like this place because the people who work there were really nice. The lake was really nearby which was very convenient and it's absolutely gorgeous and relaxing which is why i give it a 2 rating. We met up with the maintenance department and they introduced themselves and was very friendly. We had a few issues like leaky sink, loose facet, broken coffee pot. The pots and pans were horrible many with signs oxidation. Not quality cookware for sure. The place is in need of some updates and it was not as clean as I felt it should be especially for the price they were asking. Definitely recommend a better housekeeping protocol. The place was neat, but it wasn't clean. There were so many cobwebs, and dust all around. Took pictures. The gas grill was unusable because it had not been properly cleaned. The screen was not fully attached to the door. The washer and dryer and dishwasher worked well so was happy with that. But, there were dirty dishes that had been placed into the cupboard. The patio furniture was chipped and old and looked like they tried to repair it with putty. Just really disappointed with the experience. We just made the best of it. My fiancé and I have stayed in these houses probably around 5 times in the last 2-3 years. Each experience we love more than the next. We usually get houses with a pool and a Jacuzzi and really just get some rest and relaxation the whole time there. We are already planning our winter trip so we can hit the ski slopes. read more

Don't rent your Vacation Home through this company! They do not have flexible cancellation for COVID-19, their 5 O'Clock Somewhere House is disgusting, Property Management (spoke with a gentlemen name Nick and some lady) are not compassionate or helpful when renting from them. Below is my review of the 5 O'Clock Property (End unit Townhome): This house looks good on pictures only. Taylor Made should remove this property as an option due to the upgrades needed. My friends and I arrived at 4 pm (Check-in Time) to find a Taylor Made property manager there dropping off the bag of toiletries. According to the instructions in our letter this was suppose to be a non contact Check-in due to the pandemic. I would suggest Taylor made have him come earlier to ensure everyone's safety from COVID-19. The kitchen in this house needs a paint job and the couch on the Main level is filthy! I understand this place is pet friendly but there were soiled stains all over the cream couch. We had to put sheets on the couch to sit. All the beds except the Master has a Topper. The beds are so hard you feel like you are laying on a box spring or the floor. Taylor Made charged a cleaning fee but I had to wipe finger prints and dander off the light switches and hand rails for the stairs. The shower upstairs drains extremely slow. This has us standing in our shower water. Gross! Also, we were expected to turn the water and hot water heater on for the house according to the instructions. My group and I missed that note when we arrived and called the Property Management office. They said they would send maintenance out to us which took 6 hours. Why did the gentlemen that was there when we arrived not do that? I've never rented an Airbnb or Reiley Home and had to do this. Also, why didn't Nick or the ladies when I called again refer us to the instructions and tell us we had to turn on the House Water? I asked multiple times could I switch houses and was told, "No!" I am fairly disappointed and will not stay here again. read more

We stayed at viva lodge this passed week for a long weekend. Let me tell you it was the house was so unsanitary. The house hadn't been vacuumed, the person that was here before us must of had a Christmas tree in the house. There were pine needles everywhere, dirt, old lint from the people before us. We opened up the dishwasher and it was full of dirty dishes. With covid going on, and opening the dishwasher and seeing dirty dishes it was disgusting !! There was old syrup dried and stuck on the large dining room table and jelly stuck dried all over the kitchen table. We wanted to use the hot tub, and it was locked ! Couldn't even get to it. All the fire places were broken, rodent feces in multiple places in the house. My child and my friends child both got hives all over their faces from rolling around on the carpet which I'm assuming is from the pine needles. For YEARS my family rented this house under the previous owner and we never had a problem. I called and left a voicemail and complained asking for someone to come out and clean the house and I never got a call back. I would never recommend renting through this company. read more

TERRIBLE! We booked a house for a bach party. We arrived at check in time. There were multiple maintenance vehicles in the driveway. We were told the house had no heat, electricity or water- basically all of the essentials- and they had been working on it for 3 days! Maintenance crossed his fingers & said "it'll hopefully be fixed in a hour." My friend contacted Taylor Made and they said this was their first time using the vendor & offered "late check out." Not a solution. The Property Manager, Doreen?, showed up and reiterated that this was unacceptable, that they originally told her they wouldn't be done at 4, but then said they would-it was now well after 4. She added that this was their first time using this vendor. She offered to buy us a round of drinks from Unos. We just wanted to unload the car & get to the things we had planned for the party but couldn't. We asked to go to a different house and she said they were sold out. They manage 300-400 properties. When we looked it up, there was a huge list of available Taylor Made properties available, so this was a lie. She promised to look into it but we never heard back from her again. She told us that if we called The manager Chris she would work out a discount. My friend talked to Chris who told her that we should wait until 5pm and then we can go to Plan B (Even though they didn't have one). When I talked to Chris, I told her that this was unacceptable, that drinks wouldn't cut it, that we came here for a relaxing weekend & they were ruining our plans for this night. She told me she needed to talk to the Owner. When I mentioned it being the 1st time they used this vendor she said they had used them for years- directly contradicting the others. I also pressed on why we weren't made aware of these issues prior to showing up to discover it. She said that they didn't want to "worry us." How was this "surprise" better than being forthright with us. My friend had called an hour before we arrived to confirm everything & there was no mention. The manager, Chris, tried to say that the vendor said they would be done by 4. Check in time is at 4pm, so if they had any customer service, proper follow up would have been done to manage this vendor, and ensure we were aware. Chris didn't have anything to say other than "you need to wait until 5pm" and told me that she wasn't going to talk to me anymore. 5pm rolled around and you'll be shocked to hear this but they still weren't done. We tried to called Chris back, but she already had LEFT to enjoy her weekend. It made sense why she insisted on us waiting until 5pm, and just confirmed that she couldnt have cared less that we were in a cold dark waterless house on "vacation." I spoke with Sheila who identified herself as a GM, and she refused to talk to me stating that she heard I had called Chris names and used profanity. I did NEITHER of these and my friends confirmed this. Even once it was "fixed," we had to tell maintenance that the stove top wasn't working, and the heat downstairs wouldn't go on. At one point, Taylor Made had to send their own maintenance. So instead of relaxing, we spent time managing vendors. Even after the 2+ hours it took to get everything fixed, the house still wasn't guest ready. We had to heat up the entire freezing house so everyone was still in coats, we had no ice for an entire night so making drinks was a challenge, and the hot tub took hours to heat. Even bed time wasn't relaxing, as the sheets felt like sandpaper, and the mousetraps weren't very reassuring. Oh but don't worry, Taylor Made really pulled strings to offer a whopping $50 off- insert eye roll. Our house name was Absolutely Shore and I'm absolutely sure we will never stay there again or use Taylor Made. Update- They offered us $150 after seeing the 1 star reviews in exchange for us signing a legal agreement stating we would take the reviews down and not go to press. They only wanted to negotiate because of the reviews, not because it was the right thing to do. We declined their offer. read more

We stayed at "Chasing Dreams" on Woodland Way this week -- very accurate name for our experience! The water pump shut off continually at random on our family throughout the week (so, no toilet, no water to drink, brush teeth, in the middle of showers, etc.). After four days, enough was enough. When we called the emergency maintenance line operator Annette (Lynette?) to try to get the problem fixed, she hung up on us and then blocked the number we were calling from (and the problem was still not fixed, with small children in the house)! Nice, very professional Annette! Recommend that you have nothing to do with this company. We literally paid thousands of dollars to be treated like sh*t by special snowflake Annette and Taylor-Made, the bait and switch company with completely incompetent employees. read more

That said, I was appalled by the level of unprofessionalism that Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations showed towards the caterers, customers, and renters. I was a guest at a property which was advertised as a wedding venue. It was a beautiful home. That was about the only thing that made this experience bearable. The manager actually showed up on the day of the event. They claimed to be "checking" on the property and were overly intrusive. They nearly ruined our event. I would highly recommend that you avoid this rental agency. I urge you to NOT rent a property through this company if you want to enjoy your vacation. Stay away! read more

My family and I had an excellent stay at this house!! My family is normally VERY hard to please, but this house completely exceeded our expectations and everyone was pleased!! A few spider webs on light fixtures but nothing major enough to ruin our stay. We have already started planning our trip back for next year with Taylor Made Vacations! read more

Review for Greens at the Lake from 12/20 - 12/26: Location was nice, layout was great and the property was very spacious. We had a nice time overall, but because it was a holiday gathering with family. The pool and hot tub were taken care of. The Xmas tree was a nice touch and that was about it. Upon arrival, there was a thick coat of dust on the glass top table, much of the furniture had major stains on them prompting us to put blankets over them and all the vertical blinds were damaged meaning no privacy at night. We didn't learn until days later when other guests arrive about the multitude of other issues: the ping pong table was broken with a leg underneath propped up, there was a black film coming out of the tub jets in both master suites, the bench was worn to the point where guests could not sit at the dinner table to enjoy a meal because of sinking down too far, the pool table pockets were not affixed to the table, the shower curtain rod was full of chipping rust and the thick coating of dust visible by the large brown main returns indicated that the HVAC system has not received regular maintenance (noticed by my twin toddlers), neither the dishwasher nor the washing machine cleaned the dishes or our clothes and lastly, no chairs in sight to enjoy roasting s'mores around the fire pit. This felt more like an AirBnB property than a Taylor Made Elite Property. The house was not cleaned properly. We've gone with Taylor Made since 2012 (staying at Tree Haus which was a-mazing every time), but will not in the future. This was $4300 that could have been spent flying out of the country or with Railey. We were thoroughly disappointed and mortified that our family uncovered these issues during our holiday. This property is not well taken care of and it shows. It should be removed as an "elite" property and the prices should be cut down to $2100 for a weeks' stay. Totally not worth it, especially if you have small children. read more

Friday's Escape, a lake front home, was absolutely gorgeous. It was spacious, very clean upon our arrival, and met every need and beyond. This was our second year booking our vacation with Taylor-Made Deep Creek Vacations, and we are very happy with their customer service and with the high degree of homes they service and rent. We stayed in the Streamside house this past weekend. For the most part, we were very pleased with the amenities. Our main complaint is that the hot water didn't work most of the time. The house didn't have any trash bags, other than the 1 already in the kitchen trash can. I get that the paper products aren't provided, but not trash bags. Luckily we saved all our grocery bags from our trip to the grocery store on the way to the house. The house was immaculately cleaned. Prior to arriving at Streamside, our GPS has told us to turn down the wrong driveway - the driveway that was right before Streamside. My car got stuck at the end of the driveway, due to it being really icy. After about 20 minutes of trying to get out, we started to panic a little. I decided to knock on the door of the person living there. That's when Bob, the homeowner, came to our rescue! Bob spent nearly an hour helping us get out of his driveway. And then he drove us down to the Streamside house in his pickup truck, so that we could check out the driveway conditions there prior to taking my little Hyundai down there. A 1/4 of the way down the driveway there was a lady who was staying at another house on the property, who was also stuck. Bob came to her rescue and used his tow hitch to pull her up the driveway. He also let us park at the top of his driveway so we wouldn't get stuck again. On top of that, he made us program his phone# into our phones so that we could call him if we needed anything else during our weekend stay in Deep Creek. I attempted to give Bob a few dollars as a thanks for his time, but he refused it. Long story short, Taylor-Made should be incredibly thankful that there is such a humble, nice living being right next to Streamside. I also have some pretty good drone footage of the property, if Taylor-Made is interested in viewing it. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. Do yourself a favor and rent through someone else. When I tried booking our trip I was over charged by $1000 dollars. We went back and forth with Taylor Made for weeks until they finally realized they did infact over charge us. Waited another few weeks to actually get the $1000 back. If that wasnt frustrating enough, our rental home was FILTHY. We went to open the hot tub and it was covered in hair, dirt, and grass. Obviously never cleaned. The floors were filthy. There was food and toys under the couch. One bedroom floor felt like sand was dumped all over it. On the first night we went to go to bed with our children and when I pulled the comforter back on the bunk bed there was someones UNDERWEAR in the sheets. The sheets were covered in dirt, hair and other peoples clothes. Checked the other bunk sheets, FILTHY. Checked my queen sheets, dirt, hair and makeup stains. I was up until 3am washing sheets so we could stop sleeping on the couch. They offered to come bring new sheets but by then they were already washed. They offered to send house keeping to clean but the entire house needed to be cleaned and we had 12 people in the house. Absolutely disgusting especially during a pandemic. We spent $2000 to feel filthy dirty all weekend. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere!!! read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS. Taylor Made falsely listed a property as having a 2 night minimum on booking.com. When I made a reservation for 3 nights, they cancelled my reservation without my consent. They never changed the minimum online and refused to honor the valid reservation. Even a week later, after being notified of the issue, the property was still bookable for 2 nights. Taylor Made's bait-and-switch makes me sick. I will never use them and will discourage anyone I know from doing so either so no more people get scammed out of their vacations. Edit after TM'S response: I appreciate your response, but it's not quite correct. Booking.com didn't cancel my reservation - your 3rd party, the one who runs your guest portal, did. Booking.com still has an active, confirmed reservation for me. Booking also informed me that all that has to be done to change your minimum # of nights in their site (currently, STILL, 2), is to log in and correct the number. It's literally been a week since this issue was called out and it still hasn't been fixed. I could still log in and book for 2 or 3 nights if I had the time. It's incredibly misleading, and I feel that if it were actually important to Taylor Made to fix it, it would have been done already. Instead, TM continues to "resolve" the issue by trying to extort additional thousands of dollars from me by saying I will lose my reservation (and then cancelling it without notifying me!) unless I book 4 additional nights. Additionally, no one has offered my any sort of acceptable alternative. All of them have been rejected in writing, because they are in no way comparable to the property I originally booked. Furthermore, I have received absolutely zero compensation, in any form, for the week of stress caused by this situation. I've now lost any chance I had at having my vacation in Deep Creek, and have to spend additional time, stress, and effort to completely relocate myself and the other 19 people who were counting on your system being correct and honoring valid reservations. read more

We rented mountain top chalet Steden Court with a 20-person capacity but with only 12 of us for two days - not long enough! We appreciated the little amenities, paper products and ample towels in the baths and kitchen so we didn't have to supply anything basic. Beds were comfy and linens nice. The house maximizes window views of the slope/meadow and you can relax in the very nice 8-person hot tub, indoor pool, gas fireplaces, multiple whirlpool tubs, and various sitting areas with plenty of TVs and a pool table. Kids enjoyed taking their XMas card pic in front of a decorated tree! There were some wear and tear issues we detailed out on the card for the owner to address - for the cost, you'd expect the house and everything in it to be in exceptional condition. Carpets needed cleaning, some broken items that just take away the WOW feeling, etc. But fun time overall. Great for families. read more

BEWARE of DEEP CREEK LAKE TAYLOR -MADE RENTALS!! We rented a house from them which was described as a home with "Glistening hardwood floors leading into your Great Room..." Well, those "glistening floors" had spiders and ants crawling on them along with those same insects crawling on the kitchen counters, dining room and our four year old grandson found spiders in his bed. We found cobwebs and dust pockets throughout the house. Not to mention that one of the bed sheets was dirty and had human hairs on them. REALLY?? That is what they consider a clean rentable home? To make matters worse, the lock on the sliding patio door was broken so anyone could have entered the house at any time. We contacted them upon our arrival on Sunday and they did NOTHING about the door until Wednesday, when they came and put a board in the door. They never made any attempt to actually fix the door for the rest of our stay. Other issues included a smoke alarm that kept going off randomly, either poor internet, or NO internet, TVs the size of an old computer monitor and they assigned dock us to a dock that was OWNED by someone else so that caused us issues with the actual dock owner. All these wonderful amenities and services for only $3400.00 for a week! SUCH A DEAL ... too bad we spent a large portion of the week arguing with Taylor Made and looking for another place to move our guests. RENTER BEWARE - if you expect the folks at Taylor Made to do more than just take your money and sign their contract, you might in in for a surprise.... and NOT a pleasant one. read more

Good thing I documented the mess because they tried charging me after my stay. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. The home, Ponte Vista, that we stayed in was lovely. Designed perfectly for a large group of people (11) with great decor. Everything was very clean and ready upon arrival. (Could use some new fry pans.) Taylor Made was very gracious in returning left behind clothing and repairing a misunderstanding. Stayed at commanders quarters cabin over the weekend and had several issues. Upon arrival we had no heat, no hot water, the toilets did not flush properly, the fireplaces did not work, the pool table was missing balls, there were dishes in the dishwasher, and silverware was dirty. Not only was the water not warm but it was ice cold, unbearable to wash hands or take a shower the entire time. This company has the worst customer service I have ever dealt with. After calling multiple times to speak to somebody (they did not pick up the first several times I called), I was told there was no one who could help me and they would call me back. After finally speaking with someone, I was told there was nothing they could do and they would contact me in 48 hours about a discount. It has now been well after 48 hours and I have not heard from anybody. Do not waste your time renting with this company!! read more

4 minutes ago "Changed systems and lost some reservations and payments". Booked the "Log Retreat" a 2 house compound rental for friends and family on Sept 16 signed contract and full payment that same day, I call Taylor 4 days before we are due to arrive to check on an early check in, and they tell me they don't have a reservation for the property, that they had recently "switched systems" and lost some reservations. (Again signed contract and took my full payment 3 months earlier) so now I am 4 days out from arriving with 20 people, they assure me things are fine and send me a code to access the properties this Weekend, only to call last night (Tuesday) at 4:45 to tell me one of the two houses is under major renovations and that we can't stay there after all. Sent me a few options none of which were close to the same layout (and they were cheaper then I had originally booked) for our group (something that they admitted) and when I went to Railey and found a house that would work they refused to help make up the less than $900 difference in costs so we could actually have a nice weekend as we had planned and paid for 3 months earlier. Ended up cancelling with Taylor and booked with Railey, don't take the chance on having your trip ruined by using a company that loses peoples reservation, their payments, and doesn't notify anyone of their rental being under "major renovation". We very well could have rolled up to a construction site Friday afternoon with 20 people if I had not happened to call to check on the early check in. I had confirmations from the contract being returned signed, and invitation to view my rental through the "hospitality" app, all pointing to a confirmed, approved rental, but they "lost it" somehow. I have rented houses throughout the country through numerous agencies and this was by far the most amateur hour show I have ever been a part of. And before you get the "numerous attempts were made to correct the situation" don't buy it, both of their reps admitted they simply didn't have the options available to us that Railey would and that there was nothing they could do since it was 3 days away with what they had left and could never really answer how such a colossal cluster happened. A joyous birthday for my wife was turned into a giant headache and I am just glad to have found a house through an agency who seems to know what they are doing. Great at taking the reservation and the money up front, but like the old Seinfeld episode they can't seem to actually hold the reservation, ridiculous. read more

We rented a house for a girls weekend. We checked in at 8pm Friday night and check out was at 12 on Sunday. Saturday was the only day to enjoy the ammenties of the house. Friday night we got there and the power blew in the bedroom and bathroom. We made due with no power until Saturday morning when the company came to fix the issue. We would have turned the breaker on ourselves, had it not been locked up tight in the garage. When the company got there to turn the power on, they did not have a key to access the garage. They had to break into it....2 hours of loud noise in the house while we were trying to watch tv. We decided to get into the hot tub (the main reason we booked the house) since we couldn't hear the tv. We opened The lid and the water was so gross you couldn't see it. We told the handyman who was breaking into the garage for us and he called another person to come fix it. The other person came and had to fully drain and refill the hot tub. He left a note saying it would be ready at 530. We waited all day until 11pm for the hot tub to get hot....it didnt. Sunday morning as we were packing up the manager called and offered us late check out or a 50 dollar refund. We paid 800 for a 2 night stay. Due to responsiblities at home we couldn't stay an extra 4 hours but since the whole reason we stayed there was for the hot tub we expected more than 50 dollar refund. The manager was completely rude about the whole thing and didn't care about our inconvenience at all. I will never rent from them again....next time I will go to a diff realator. read more

My wife and I always take a getaway weekend the second weekend of December. The destination is always a surprise for my wife. I chose a home through Taylor Made Deep Creek Vacations. The reservations were very simple, there were no surprises on the Agreement as all was as disclosed during my conversation with their office. We arrived late so we were not able to stop at the office but they provided the necessary code to enter the property. The property was amazing. Very clean and everything in excellent condition. We stopped by the office the following morning to "check-in" and we were warmly greeted. The staff was very friendly and provided advice on dining, etc. Overall our entire long weekend was a great experience. We have never visited the same place for our December getaway but this trip will definitely be one that we will repeat in the near future. read more

Take pictures as soon as you get to your house to protect yourself from these crooks. They said that our dog peed multiple times on the floor which is ludacris because she's 6 years old and hasn't had a mess since a puppy. They ended up charging us over $100 for bogus claims but we didn't take initial pictures so we can't prove it. I would not recommend them for anything. Take pictures to protect yourself. The townhouse was roomy and had a great view, and the hot tub was fabulous. I used most of the appliances in the kitchen and they were all in working order. However, the property is in serious need of an update. The kitchen and bathroom don't look like they have been touched since the '80s, the beds were hard, and the couch beds were unusable. Though I plan on returning to the area soon, I won't be using Taylor Made. read more

My experience at the cabin offered by Taylor-Made was terrible. One of the worst experiences I've had during a vacation. The address of the house we stayed is: "33 Santa Fe Trail, Oakland, MD 21550" and we stayed during Martin Luther King weekend for 3 nights. First off, a lot us got bed bug bites from the dirty beds, sheets, and poorly maintained sofas. These weren't couple of bites. There were MANY MANY bites all over our bodies. This is a testament of how poorly these cabins are maintained and cleaned. And to think that they have the audacity to charge us $250 plus in cleaning fees.... Secondly, our hot tub was not working properly on two of the three day. We specifically chose this cabin for the hot tubs (even though it comparably more than the cabins w/o hot tubs). We were really looking forward to this amenity...enjoying the hot tub after skiing during the day. However, we were able to enjoy this amenity for one night. Once we told Taylor Made about this, they had the audacity to say that we broke the hot tub...and the bed bug bites were actually "hot tub rashes" which was supposedly "caused due to alcohol and chemicals in the hot tub water mixing together".......I think I have enough life experience to tell a difference b/w bed bug bites and "hot tub rashes". What a joke.. Lastly, there were no warnings/disclaimers on your website suggesting the guests to bring an All-Wheel Drive/Four Wheel Drive vehicle (Compared to their competitors' websites where it strongly suggests to bring one due to steep hills leading to the home). When we got there, we realized that the hill leading to the driveway of the home was very steep. It snowed and iced all weekend while we were there. On the day when we tried to leave, one of our friend's vehicle (which was a rear wheel drive) lost traction while going down the steep hill and crashed into a ditch. This was a result of lack of information/warning. If there was such language warning us about the steep hills, no one would've brought their 2 wheel drives. in addition, despite the fact that we called Taylor Made to take care of the drive way....it took them over 48 hours (from when the snow storm ended) to plow the driveways and the steep hill leading down to the main roads... Our weekend was ruined for the three reasons mentioned above. We invested a good amount of money (over $850) to relax and enjoy the weekend. However, it was filled with an accident due to poor disclaimer language/lack of information by Taylor Made, bed bug bites due to poor hygiene/maintenance by Taylor Made, and a dysfunctional hot tub. As a consumer, this was one of the biggest waste of money and I would like to be compensated for this experience and no one should be spending that much money to come home with an accident, bed bug bites, and a sour taste in the mouth. read more

I stayed at Chalet on the Hill with a group of 12 adults over MLK weekend. Everyone enjoyed the cabin immensely; it was definitely more than anyone had imagined! This home has 5 bedrooms (1 king, 3 queen, 1 bunk-bed) and 3.5 bathrooms (bring extra TP!!!). There are also three large open areas (loft, living room and basement) in which several air mattresses will fit. An additional 8 - 10 more people could have comfortably joined the trip (that's if you don't mind sharing an open space with others and sleeping on air mattress). The living room comes with the MOST comfortable reclining leather sofa & single reclining chair; 10 people fit (not a sofa bed). The fireplace in the living room makes the main floor and loft floor incredibly toasty. The TV remote did not work which made it difficult to change the channels. There is a very nice stereo in the living room in which you can plug your iPhone into though. There were a few items that I was not pleased with and brought to the rental staff's attention on Day 2; they handled the issues swiftly (heater in basement not working, ice maker not working, and air beds had leak). The kitchen is very well equipped with pots, pans, baking ware, waffle maker, blender, cooking utensils, etc. You literally do not need to bring anything from home except for coffee filters (we used paper towels brought from home). I ALSO did not notice until late in the evening that the kitchen sink had a major drain issue (very slow drain and garbage disposal does not work) - I reported this during check-out. Tip: Bring extra dish detergent for dish washer. Overall the experience was wonderful and I would make plans to go again in a heartbeat before the winter season is over. The view is breathtaking and the cabin was well equipped with extra blankets/pillows in most of the closets. The only reason I am not giving five stars is due to the basement temperature. This inconvenienced 5 guests the first night. The second night we were supplied with space heaters for the two bedrooms. read more

My family vacationed in Deep Creek for the first time this year and we will certainly be coming back! We stayed in Ponte Vista, a Lake view home that was extremely accommodating, very clean, nicely decorated and had a great view of the lake from the wrap around porch. This was really a "home away from home" as many of the things that are sometimes lacking from vacation rentals were provided, linens, bathroom soap, a blender in the kitchen, propane, wood for the fireplace...anything we needed was there. I cannot stress enough how great it was to stay with Taylor Made, these guys really know their stuff! You can tell that they have a passion for the area and really went out of their way numerous times. When deciding on a property (I wasn't sure if my grandparents would be coming) the reservationist on the phone offered to go to the property to count the steps to the door. While on our stay, we had an issue with the grill and someone was out to fix it within a half hour. When it rained one day, we stopped into the office and got a movie from a kiosk in the office, a service that's completely free for guests. We also got recommendations on things to do and bought our white water rafting tickets at the office for a discounted price. Check in and out was also a breeze, we were able to go right to the property with a key code and stop into the office whenever it was convenient, this was especially nice since we were crammed in the car for 6 hours and anxious to start vacation. I could go on all day, if you're renting a house in Deep Creek, you should definitely stay with Taylor Made. read more

Company is an absolute joke. It snowed while we were there and we didn't get plowed out for two days (of our four day stay) after multiple phone calls. They told us upon checkin we'd get firewood every night - nothing until the last night, again, despite asking multiple times. After checkout I realized I had accidentally left a nice watch in the home. I called to get them to go grab it and they didn't send someone over to the house to retrieve it until three business days later -- and then only after I begged the poor girl I got on the line who agreed to grab it for me after her shift ended. They stuck that very expensive watch in a bubble mailer to send back to me, which was torn open en route and stolen from the package before it reached me. Owner of the company, Chad, was (and remains) wholly unapologetic about the lack of care in packaging and offered nothing to help out except an "I don't know what you want from us" response. Plenty of other options at Deep Creek. Use an alternative. I'll be letting the property owner know that their rental company choice is bad. Shame, because the house itself was quite nice. read more

My family has rented from Taylor-Made in the summer and winter for the past few years, and the service has been fantastic! The houses are clean, spacious, and Taylor-Made does everything from shoveling snow, suggesting a restaurant, taking beautiful Photographs, renting a boat, or just going completely going out of their way to make your stay enjoyable! A group of 10 of us stayed at Buried Treasure this past weekend to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and this house did not disappoint! Everything was perfect and the Taylor Made staff was very responsive (the cable was not working in the living room and it was fixed right away). The only issue we had (which is very, very minor) was that there were no pot holders...which was weird because the kitchen was fully stocked! Would definitely stay at Buried Treasure again and look forward to using Taylor Made again (we've already booked another house for later this year!). read more

We had a pretty good experience with Taylor-Made. We stayed at Carmel Cabin in Deep Creek. The House was spacious and well kept. Bedrooms were huge, everything was very clean, and all the game tables were great. Our biggest concern was the AC. It kept freezing us (62 degrees in the AM), so we called Taylor-made and a maintenance guy came out. He was super nice, and said the thermostat likely needed replacing. We also called them because there was too much sunlight in the kids rooms every morning, so they were getting up at sunrise. There were no curtains; by the next day, a maintenance guy showed up with curtains. We also called to inquire why there was no DVD player. Taylor-made said this is the owners choice, but they offered to deliver one to us. They were incredibly accommodating and offered to fix every concern we had. We noticed that a maintenance man stopped in everyday, even on days we didn't call and ask for something. It was for random things like dropping off carpet or checking the door lock. I shared this feedback with Taylor-made and they apologized. read more

We stayed in "Bearadise Found" July 8-15. This was our 2nd year in a row renting, but this was the first time we rented "Bearadise Found". It was quite exaggerated on the listing. Although we arrived a few minutes early, the cleaning crew arrived AFTER us (approximately 3:35) to clean the house from the prior reservation. They were done in less than an hour, and it was obvious too. So we were not able to get into the house at 4pm as stated. Then as we were unloading, we came across a yellow-jacket nest, which stung the youngest family member, which was right on the steps that we had to enter/exit the house. We called immediately requesting someone take care of it, but no one ever showed up nor did we ever hear back from them. Secondly, the house is in very poor condition. The beds are HORRENDOUS. The entire basement smells musty, damp and even the doors don't open correctly because of the dampness/moisture problem. The kitchen was poorly equipped, and even though the house is advertised to sleep 12, they only had dishes for 8. The refrigerator had food in it from the prior renters; the top shelf of the refrigerator had some kind of sticky red junk glued onto the glass that we couldn't clean off. Most windows didn't have screens in them - and the house did not have central A/C (which was fine, if we could open the windows). The sliding screen doors all had holes in them, and wouldn't stay on the track to open and close. The windows were filthy, and had cobwebs everywhere you looked! The microwave is on its last leg, as when you use it, there's an awful noise from the turntable. The pots and pans were pretty disgusting, and definitely need to be replaced. The cabinets were dirty inside of them. Even the chairs at the dining table -- which only sat 6 by the way -- were wobbly. The hot tub, although filled, did not look nor smell as though it had been treated with any chemicals. ugh!!! This house is in very, very poor condition and is not being cleaned thoroughly or properly. I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE RENTING THIS PROPERTY. Next year we may not even rent from Taylor-Made since they were so non-responsive. I know that the homeowner has some responsibility for the condition of the home, however, Taylor-Made should NOT be advertising this house as it does, AND they should be responding to calls as well as ensuring the cleaning is done properly and thoroughly. read more

I brought my family of 5 from NC and met my brother and his son for a ski trip at Wisp and we stayed in a vacation rental home offered by Taylor Made Deep Creek Vacations. If you have never been there and are considering going, you should. It's a wonderful destination; very beautiful and the skiing was great. The mountain had trails for all level of skiers! Our rental home was located on the lake and a 10 minute drive from the slope parking lot. Very convenient after a hard day on the slopes. The kids loved counting the deer on the ride home each evening. We arrived after 9 PM and the home was well lit on the outside and as important, the entry way inside the home had the lights on. (Ever try to use your phone as a flashlight to unlock a door in cold weather with gloves on?) The fresh snow had been plowed and they salted the entry. The kids ran around claiming their rooms while the adults unpacked and all of the rooms were very nice. No fights over who got which room. The home was very clean which was one of the first things that my wife commented on. The hot tub was clean and the temp was ready for us to use right away. The bathrooms were very clean and kitchen was well appointed with all kinds of utensils; we cooked in every night to save money and there wasn't a thing missing that we needed. It was obvious that the owner liked to cook! There was wood ready by the fireplace and we got it lit right away (my 2nd task after unpacking) and we all slept well that night and every night! The adults all commented on how well kept the home was and how it was such a great deal over other options that we looked into. The folks at Taylor Made are really great people and they offer great homes. I recommend that you check with them first before you rent anywhere else in Deep Creek. read more
