The school is located past the Coronado Mall in a beautifully kept church. The church is clean and the classrooms are medium-large and welcoming with cubbies and wonderful activity centers as well as toys. The bulletin boards and walls are kept neat with projects posted and daily and weekly activity records listed. School starts promptly and ends promptly; the school does offer before and after care, and if a child needs either care once in a while and there is room, the school allows it and the care is rather inexpensive. School starts at 9:30 p.m. and ends at 1:00 p.m. It is a nut-free school and lunches must be packed. Snacks are brought in by the parents and rotated depending on the teacher. Our teacher had us rotate by week and I enjoyed trying out new healthy recipes on the kids who, for the most part, seemed to enjoy them. The curriculum for the three year old class was outstanding. Although my daughter did not come home with papers everyday, thankfully, she always told me about what she learned and how much she loved school. At this age, a lot of the teaching involves play, but St. John's also included the whole alphabet in the curriculum and thoroughly went through it. I was also impressed that they involved the kids in the 2008 presidential election process. My daughter's teacher was very experienced and I felt that she gave my daughter great attention. The teacher-to-student ratio is also quite low which helps as well. As a Christian institution, it also supplied the Christian values we wanted our daughter to learn about even though I and some other families who attended were not Christian. Keep in mind when factoring in price into education that St. John's has ASCI accreditation and although it may at first seem costly, it is well worth it. The current preschool in Ohio, where my youngest daughter is attending and my eldest attended, costs about the same and is on par with educational value.

They teach healthy living starting from nutrition not only in books but in a way of GROWING FOODS. I LOVE that. They get to work and learn how to grow food, eat healthy, have a place to hang out and express themselves via music, poetry, spoken words, and art. They were prepping for an upcoming show and there were some seriously talented youth there I got to work in the fields for a bit and got to see their beautiful greenhouse they call the wind tunnel. Right now they have kale greens, spinach, beets, lettuce, and carrots. On the outside the had garlic, onions, and sugar snap peas so far. How amazing that they do all this?!?! The people who work there are passionate about what they do and I saw the light in their eyes shine when they spoke of what they do. I was blown away by learning all that they do. Our Yelp Helps group spent some time slinging poo, raking dirt and digging a hole with 3 of the gentleman that run this great program. I had some great conversation with Brad. He had some insight about troubled youth and the community. I was thrilled to see all of these great helping hands. The folks at the institute were preparing for an upcoming community event. We listened to some music and spoken word poetry before heading out to the farm where we were given a tour of the area and handed a pitch fork/shovel. I enjoyed my time with other helpful yelpers and the folks at the institute.

First, the place is super clean, and they have a great curriculum in place. But what truly sets them apart is the staff/ teachers. They are warm, kind, and genuinely care about the kids. Unlike other centers where I felt rushed and my child was left crying, here, they took the time to understand my little one's needs. I never felt rushed. Getting to know the teachers is a big deal to me. One big plus, no kids crying during drop-off or pick-up! You can really tell it's a nurturing environment. Plus, it doesn't smell like dirty diapers, which is a nice perk! We're just finishing our second week, and I'm so glad I chose this center. It might be a bit out of my way, but it's the best decision I've made for my child. If you're looking for a CARING and CLEAN center, I highly recommend Eastern Child Development Center!

We have been taking our daughter to The Little Gym of Albuquerque (Westside) for just about 3 years…read morenow and we have nothing but AMAZING things to say about it. We started with the Parent-Tot gymnastics classes and she's since moved to the dance classes where she gets to do ballet, tap, and gymnastics. It is such a great place for young ones to develop skills and techniques of dance and gymnastics all while learning and having fun! She loves going to class and we have really seen her grow in her skills. We love the staff and have gotten to know them well. They are accommodating with your schedule and offer makeup classes when there are holidays or you have to miss (with adequate notice). We honestly feel like it's worth the price and it's a very attainable rate. We love that they offer "Parent Surivial Nights" for date nights and they even have a daycare-like program you can take advantage of. They even do a cute recital once a year for their dance programs which is so adorable! 10/10 recommend!

My son had been going here for years. Once covid hit and the state shut down this place went…read moredownhill fast. The staff is careless with the children. One of them even grabbed my son's hoodie vigorously off his head jerking it back. Then after that issue was resolved we had back to back problems with the staff not paying attention to the children while at the park. My son would come home and have bruises from kids pushing off the slide and no reports. Then my son said there was a man talking to them at the park where they go and smoking next to the kids. Once again the staff didn't even know this happened. They don't watch the kids. They take them to the park and then get on their phones until it's time to get the kids back. While in class they put movies on and continue to ignore the children. The most recent issue I had which forced me to find a new daycare for my son was this. I take my son around 10-11 on Wednesdays because I work graveyard and that's usually what time I go to sleep. His mother picks him up and he stays with her until I finish my work week. Well last Wednesday I take my son at the usual time and they are already at the park. Not a big deal. When this happens I will take him to the park and drop him off with then there after signing him in. The owner told me they were at the park next door. So I drove over there and they were no where to be found. So I called and asked what park again. Once again the owner of the facility confirmed the name of the park and said "they should be there, or they are still walking to the park. That is where they told me they are taking the kids." Turns out that they changed their minds and took them to a park two blocks away instead. I called the owner after I found his class and she said "WAIT WHAT?!?!? that is not where they told me and didn't tell me they changed parks". I told her that this is a huge concern for the safety of the children and I'm not ok with this. I then went in and discussed it with her and the manager. They were both unaware of the change before I discovered it and agreed that it was reckless of the staff. This used to be a safe place I could trust. Now it's full of staff that does NOT care about the kids in their care and it's sad. I hope she fixes the issues for the safety of the children still enrolled at their facility. I am now taking my son to Kindercare.
