Since I'd never done this before I was hesitant to trust my little friend to strangers. My pup passed her meet-and-greet with flying colors, and it eased a good measure of my discomfort. After having boarded her several times now, were BOTH happy with their staff and services. I never worry about her while she's there, and I often forget to even check in on her (except when my grandkids ask if we can see her!). Now when I pack her things, she knows where she's going, and it's not uncommon for her to be too excited to eat or drink, and even if I'm not ready to leave she'll get in the car and won't get out. We're both happy we found Four Paws Hotel and Day Resort! (I referred my sister to them, and now her dog is a regular when she leaves town as well.)

Heard about how this place went to Check it out with Rocky and we all fell in love. Extremely roomy kennels, heated and air conditioned. They have an air exchanger that totally changes the air at least three times a day! They will pamper your pet to pieces. They get to go out and (your choice) with or without other dogs. They go out at least 6 times a day or more. The floors are warmed and comfortable even for us to walk on. Cats are in their element, from what we saw. Rocky had such a good time that when we came to pick him up, he did his happy dance. For a few minutes then went right back to the gal that we were talking to, looked at us as if to,say, ok. See you later and turned to her! Of course he was really glad when we put him in the car, but this place takes fantastic care of your pets and really cares for them! Very very reasonable, they also have ,a groomer, we requested a bath nail trim and a shave. He was so spiffed up and looked so cute it's not funny, They are located in Metamora and have a huge outdoor fenced area, that the pups can play in. We will definitely be using them again and have been telling everyone about them. They also have doggy day care! Terrific. So glad we found it. The staff is terrific and it shows that they all love animals! If you are looking for a place, This is it!!!

They reopened at a new location and we attempted to give them the benefit of the doubt- but between booking and arriving no one reached out to tell us a piece of documentation was missing from our vet and we had to leave with our dog and figure out same day care plans for her. So all around complete lack of communication in our experience. Will have to find a new place.

This was our first time boarding our dog so I don't have much to compare it to. I really liked…read morethat they have cameras that you can watch your dog. I also like that they are given 3 hours of playtime each day. Shortly after we dropped off Juneau we noticed someone had put her toy and slow feed bowl in her kennel. Then the next day we noticed there was no toy, bowl or cot. I had watched over a 24 hour period and nothing changed. I emailed and asked why this happened and I never received a response. She was being fed in a regular bowl, which she will eat too fast and choke. I also noticed a pee spot on the floor and was not sure if it was due to this or not. However, Juneau is just a puppy (fully potty trained) and used to going outside every couple hours, so I don't know if that was the issue or not. I never found out what happened.

The girl on the phone was so nice and all of the workers that I interacted with were too. I knew that my pet was in great hands! I watched him occasionally through the webcam and it was so fun to watch him play. He loved the girls and he followed them around. I really liked the schedule and the amount of play time and walks that the dogs receive. Some boarding places may be cheaper, but this place is definitely worth the price and I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else. It was so cute to see my dog sitting on one of the girls lap during play time. He's very spoiled and it was so sweet that she let him sit there. He gets very anxious around new people and I was glad that he felt comfortable. I decided to place him in the boutique, which is meant for small dogs, but in the future I will probably put him in the Hills suite. There are always dogs in that suite and I don't want him to feel lonely at night. One night he was all alone in the boutique suite so I felt bad ): When we went to check him out they gave us a picture and a report card. This was so adorable!! I loved the picture so much. I was so happy with my experience and I will always bring my dog here for boarding. He misses his new friend Lulu!

I can't believe this place doesn't have any reviews, I wouldn't have found it if it hadn't been for…read morea coworker. I took my dog here for the first time this week, three days of daycare, and we both LOVE it. We've had bad experiences with other places - either he sits in a crate by himself all day and barely gets a potty break, or he gets to be crazy with other dogs but obviously isn't well supervised because he comes home limping. The best part about Barktown is that they have a twitter feed and post pictures of playtime! I can see my dog is having a good time while I'm at work, and I know he's being well watched. It's a little expensive, but it's worth it to me to know and be able to see that he's being taken care of and happy. The staff is super friendly too, and there was no cancelation fee when it turned out I didn't need daycare for one day.

So I have to add an update to this review…read more I can now walk around outside with my dog off-leash, call her back, and I am generally not worried about her listening to me. I truly believed that a trained dog is a happy dog, and now I have the practical real-world experience to put behind that theory.

Once training was over we decided to bring Bailey once a week or so just to play with the other dogs. I cannot stress enough now much she LOVES this place! When we are walking her up the stairs to go inside it's all I can do to hold her back bc she's so excited to go play! Hannah and the rest of her staff love on her like she is theirs and I feel totally comfortable, knowing she is well taken care of!!
