Raymond Diaz (LRD Garage Door Service) contacted me last night and offered to refund my deposit if I removed my posts. It was shocking that someone tried to hold me hostage for $1000 he had stolen over 3 months ago. Predictably, he failed to show up both last night as promised and again during the agreed time slot of 9:00am-10:00am this morning. Again, this pattern of unfulfilled commitments regarding the return of my deposit has persisted since August. Documentation with the Better Business Bureau indicates previous similar issues involving LRD Garage Door Service - Raymond Diaz, resulting in an "F" rating. Attention neighbors: I am sharing this information not just from my recent experience but to protect local businesses and individuals who rely on Nextdoor for their livelihoods. It's frustrating when a business with some good reviews still scams people. They may offer decent service to some, earning positive feedback, while others lose money or get poor service. I originally left a 5-star review after paying $350 on April 9 to have a garage door spring…read morereplaced. Unfortunately, I have to update this review due to a poor follow-up experience. On April 20, the garage door became stuck because the cable came off the track. I reached out multiple times throughout the day and received no response. At that point, the warranty becomes meaningless if the company cannot be reached. I had another garage door company come out and paid for a second repair, to replace the now damaged cables. They confirmed that while the spring replacement itself was done correctly, the cables were not properly adjusted and the door was left imbalanced, which likely contributed to the failure. It was also why the opener was so much noisier after the spring replacement (I was told it was from excess wear on it from trying to lift the door without the spring). The opener is once again very quiet and the door is raising and lowering very smoothly and quietly. I understand that issues can happen, but lack of responsiveness--especially for something that can pose a safety risk and was most likely related to work just done --is unacceptable. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this company nor would I use them again.
