After shopping all over Des Moines for a truck, we encountered dealerships that either patronized us, hassled us, or made us feel like we didn't know what we were talking about. Some even tried to convince us that we couldn't get what we wanted. But when we walked into Toyota of Des Moines, it was a completely different experience. From the moment we were greeted, we felt welcomed and respected. Steve allowed us to choose the vehicle we wanted without any hassle. Every incentive was explained upfront, and the level of transparency was refreshing. What truly set them apart was their willingness to meet our needs on the trade-in. We were told by a Ford dealer (who originally sold us the Bronco) that we could never get the trade-in value we wanted, but Toyota gave us exactly what we asked for--no questions asked. Steve and the entire team at Toyota of Des Moines worked with urgency, respect, and professionalism to finalize the deal in a way that left us completely satisfied. This level of customer care and attention to our needs is what made us feel valued. Toyota of Des Moines embodies what it means to be a true car dealership. However, the loan provider never received the title to the vehicle we purchased. When I reached out to Tom's Auto several times to resolve the issue and showed up in person I was given the runaround and even laughed at for being concerned that I had paid off a vehicle and had no title for it. I don't even think they tried to locate the title or investigate what happened. It was a huge hassle. I was told by the loan provider that this is a common occurrence with Tom's Auto, though I've read reviews about them from different platforms and have not seen anything pertaining to this particular issue. After spending time making phone calls to Tom's and the loan provider and being told to go to the DOT and then to go to the county treasurer I did have the issue resolved at the treasurers office. I did get the title to my vehicle. It was very frustrating and unnecessary to have to deal with this. All because the documents were mishandled.

In my opinion, if you're looking for a turn-key vehicle that's going to be perfect for you for years to come with zero maintenance required - go buy something brand new. I see a lot of reviews that seem to think Tom's is responsible for their used, high mileage, low-priced vehicle having issues. Do your own research and know the common issues the vehicle you're buying has at the mileage you're purchasing it at. Then decide if it's worth the cost to fix those things after purchasing. I had a great experience, it was so fast and easy.

We were misquoted on the diagnostic cost, we were told we needed an airbag module we were never given a price for so we could never actually have the service done, and despite calling in a dozen+ times over the course of almost two months we were never followed up with whenever we were told we would be called back. DeYarman has not tried to do anything to make things right which is what is really frustrating. If you plan on having your Ford vehicle repaired I would do some research and try another shop.
