We had been there once before quite some time ago, and this visit reminded us why we liked it so much. The prices are very competitive, especially for the quality of service you receive. The atmosphere was calm, clean, and incredibly relaxing from the moment we walked in. The massage therapists were excellent, they instinctively knew exactly what I needed. They used just the right amount of pressure and worked through a tremendous amount of tension in my shoulders and neck. I tend to carry stress for long periods of time and live in a constant "fight or flight" mode, so when someone truly works out those deep knots and helps your body relax, it can almost feel like a shock to your system. I was a little nauseous afterward, but that's completely normal when you release that much built-up tension. After a carb-heavy, high-protein meal with a little sodium, I felt much better. The next morning I'm definitely sore, but again, that's expected when you've been holding onto that much tightness. What matters most is that I feel lighter, both physically and emotionally. My circulation feels better, the tension is gone, and I genuinely feel like a heavy burden has been lifted off my shoulders. My husband and I absolutely plan to return regularly. If you're carrying stress in your body and need real relief, Coco Massage is worth it.

Aggressive overstretching of right arm led to pinched nerve pain that lasted throughout the massage, and now after the fact, makes it hard to type (voice typing this review), eat food with a fork, or brush my teeth. I use my right arm for everything, and I'm hoping doesn't cause long-term damage. If anyone is reading this, please cross your fingers for me, I need your good energy. Masseuse literally took 2 different phone calls during the middle of my massage session with clients asking to schedule appointment and talked to them about what time to come in. The phone loudly ringing twice feet away from me, and her halting my massage to take it and then restarting, also made it stressful rather than relaxing. She did the same thing 3 other times for 3 text messages, so 5 phone interruptions total. Yes, I said phone interruptions, because those were not the only type of interruptions. Two clients came in during my massage, and she left the massage room to go greet them and talk to them for minutes at a time. All of this obviously reduced my massage time as well. The repeated touching the phone and then touching the client is also an issue for hygiene, given what lurks on the surface of smartphones. I'm constantly complimented on my excellent skin, and after my session here, developed a painful pimple, the first time this has happened in at least 2 decades. Our skin is an important part of our body and health, and wellness services should honor it. During the last 5 minutes of my massage, she literally placed the phone on top of the massage table in between my legs. I wish I were making this up. She finally removed it before toweling the oil off. I believe in tipping service workers, and since the service was terrible I was thinking of leaving a 10% tip, even though it could have caused me harm with the nerve pain in my bicep which is an issue until now, and there were 7 interruptions. I would normally leave 20% for normal/good service, sometimes 25% for great service. Even before I went to pay, while I was drinking water, she said she expected a $20 tip, or $90 total. This would have been a 28.5% tip on the $70 service. I told her I don't think this is an appropriate tip for the level of service, and she got really aggressive. I allowed myself to get bullied into leaving a $15 tip, which at 22% is way more than what the service warranted. I had taken an Uber there, and when I called an Uber it was coming in 6 minutes. I don't think she realized this and opened the door, I said I was waiting for an Uber. She actually tried to insist that I wait outside in the dark at 8:15 pm, saying she had other clients. I don't know what the point of her waiting area with the chairs in the lobby is then. I stood my ground this time and waited until my Uber came 5 minutes later. I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. And as Arthur Brooks said, never waste your suffering, so am sharing my experience so others can avoid it. Having discovered many amazing massage spots in Denver, some that feel life-changing, and associating this area with excellent wellness offerings, I feel there is no reason to ever have to consider a place that is not of that caliber, let alone one that could cause harm. Massage should be therapeutic, not stressful, and a way to thank our amazing bodies, not hurt them.
