They had a SeaDoo available for immediate rental so we took the opportunity to go out in the bay. The check in process was easy! We only rented for an hour ($100) since we had dinner plans. We spent a week in Traverse City and found this location to be the least accomodating. We booked parasailing and jet ski combo. Got a call in the morning that parasail was cancelled due to weather (happens no biggie). We could still do jet skiing but cant be guaranteed availability( thats not ok). When we arrived it took 20 mins to figure out our reservation. I was given a very old jetski with a messed up start button, that I was told on my way out had an accident the day before. I wasted a good amount of time trying to turn the jet ski on in the middle of the lake. The sound of my jet ski was also messed up. This particular jetski should not have been used. They didnt honor the discount rate that was discussed with the girl that called to let me know parasail was cancelled. read more

TC Watersports provided a great product on my family vacation. The tri-haul sport pontoon I rented was great. I have rented them at other lakes but this was the first time on the big lake for me. The sport pontoon was in great shape and plenty fast and stable for the Lake Michigan chop. The website was transparent and easy but I called for my reservation. The service was friendly and efficient from my reservation to my check in to my return. No issues. We rented at Sugar Beach location and the east bay was gorgeous. Very little traffic and we cruised way up the bay past Elk Rapids, doing some tubing and swimming along the way. Highly recommend. read more

Rented a jetski for an hour. The jetski was very fast and a lot of fun. The process, however, is a bit ridiculous. You fill out paperwork, pay, and then are given a magnet to take out to the guys on the dock. You would think that this would place you in some sort of line. No, that would make too much sense. Instead, we were told to just watch to see someone come on, and it's "first come first served". We ended up having to wait in a line on the dock. Suggestion: Get a bull horn and call the next person on your board when a jetski is available. If that would be too disruptive, just text them. The current system makes no sense. Also, Jetski rental is advertised at $75/hour. However, this does not include FUEL. So, you get to pay an additional $25 fuel charge, plus taxes and fees. Ended up paying $105. Taxes and fees is one thing, but to charge for fuel on a 1 hour rental is kinda ridiculous. Just advertise $100 and be honest about what you are doing. read more

This is our fourth summer using TC Watersports' services and equipment. They hire quality personnel that are welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and seem to always have a great attitude for helping us get set up for a great day out on the water. Their equipment (boats, tubes, jetskis, paddle boards, etc) is well maintained. They provide all the necessary life jackets and instructions prior to departure. They recently moved from their tiny shack behind Sugar Beach hotel to their own building about a quarter mile down the road of M31. Definitely recommend their services based on the employees alone as everything is icing on the cake. read more

First time ever parasailing. Things tend to be a little on the pricey side, but it is a resort town during peak season. Everyone, from the girl behind the counter, to the "Captain" and the "First Mate" were nothing short of great. Had a great time on the boat...actually played music I liked, being a man nearing 50. It was such a smooth and quiet ride some 400 feet above water. Would definitely do this again. read more

We were really excited to go jet skiing with a rental here. Advertising is very misleading. You see $75 on the site (helpful when comparing prices). This was the price for one hour. There are other options online, however, their paper sign on the shack disagrees. There is a demand so 1 hour only. We got there and they had us paying $105 after taxes and fuel. Why isn't this advertised? We're not sure. Then, you sign a huge waiver packet and have a $1,000 deposit per jet ski. I handed them my card and they asked if it had a $2,000 limit (we were getting two). I said no and the guy pretty much laughed and asked for another card. They write all of your card info on sheets of paper so it's pretty secure . In the shack and on the dock, everyone is on their phones without a care. No one was actually paying much attention to customers. Expect to pay more when you get there and don't believe the options they offer online. Paying $50 in gas when we barely went through a half a tank each is pretty excessive but I guess that's on us. read more

There is zero management here. We rented jet ski for an hour, and after we pay, there is no order, we have to wait on the deck under the sun for the next available jet ski. And people usually don't come back on time, and they don't track it, at all. So we need to wait forever under the sun, cause if we leave, we have to start from the end of the line, again. The jet ski itself is fun, but it's not because of the company, it's because of jet ski itself. Nothing the company did is right. read more

The one star is only because I cannot give 0 stars. First of all there was zero management. And the manager we did talk to, Jeff, was unprofessional. Kept blaming us for the whole situation and making excuses instead of taking responsibility for the situation. Here's how it went down: When we initially turned on our rental ski boat, the gas tank read half full. Since we were planning on being out all day, we double checked and asked if we would have enough gas. After being told we were absolutely fine, the gas gauge didn't work anyway, and we "had a full tank" we went about our day. Long story short we ran out of gas 2 hours later, in the middle of the bay with a huge storm brewing above us. (Keep in mind we were lightly cruising, rarely getting up to full throttle.) When we call the rental place to tell us our situation we get a "we'll see what we can do." We were stranded for 2.5 hours with no gas, in waters too deep to anchor, and drifting closer and closer toward Lake Michigan. We had to call the freaking coast guard to come get us because we were so scared, and felt like the rental company was not making an effort to get us help. Shout out to the coast guard for helping us out of a situation that could have been avoided by filling up our freaking gas tank! read more

Do NOT recommend! I reserved a boat for Saturday on Labor Day weekend. Unfortunately, it rained the entire day so we did not take the boat out. TC Watersports would not even give us a voucher. We spent $600 and did not even see the water. They said unless it's storming they will not refund your money or give out a voucher. Terrible customer service. Tried stand up paddle boarding for the first time with friends. We had a good time and the equipment was mostly good. I was disappointed, however, when I booked online and chose a reservation time, but was then told it was really first come, first served. I thought the life jackets stunk to high heaven, but you're only required to have it in your board. Also, the website said their boards were rated at 220-260 lbs. we all had boards with max weight capacity at 230 lbs. read more

We rented a pontoon today from TC as it is located very close to our house rentals. We brought the pontoon to our rental and beached it so our friends could board and load coolers, towels, etc. I do this with my pontoon all the time at home. A representative came down where we were and said we had to anchor it offshore. We said ok, went for our ride and brought it in to anchor offshore when a different representative ran down to tell us the only place we could park it was their dock. We brought it to the dock after 3 hours into our 8 hour rental. Due to the inconvenience of all of our guests walking a quarter mile on the beach between rides, we told them we were done with it for the day. The manager told us there are no partial refunds. Make sure you understand all their rules before renting. read more

The staff does nor properly train people who have not been on jet skis. Twice in one weekend the young men who were operating the jets skis rented form TC Watersports, went within just feet of our boat, cut the boat off and when we yelled at the young men they came back on purpose. Swarmed the boat and then took off. The owner was called and he asked I call Marine Patrol . The owner is responsible for training the people correctly. HE took ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSIBILITY. He was also very rude and cocky. Not a safe business and not people you would want to rent from. read more

Very rude at the rental counter. My biggest issue was . After we rented the boat then they say oh we keep your credit card and drivers license until you return. I then asked where they kept them while holding them. They said right here on a clipboard. Not secure at all. I saw all different workers in and out of the little shack, and anyone can see them. The whole place has no idea about Credit Card security or there liability for CC theft. We rented for 1 hour and they said the time started when signed , I pointed out the boat was not ready and that my time of boat rental started when we got the boat. They want you to sign the forms saying boat was in xxx condition and you agree to any damages , before you even see the boat. No receipts provided, they said will email it later, this was after we returned. They stated we do not run credit cards until end of day. I showed them where they had already ran the card and the girl Said no that was not right .... the whole staff has no clues as to what happens. read more

If I could give zero stars I would... :( our rental began with an unorganized check in of young adults playing on their phones paying no attention to their jobs. After 45 minutes we were finally placed on the water with "ease". About an hour into our trip our boat completely stopped working, I mean stopped running & everything! We were able to contact the manager, Suburi, who sent us a rescue boat about 3 hours later. However, it got worse... we were required to sign new paper work that included another deposit of $1,000 on top of the original. When we finished our rental and went to check out, Suburi requested an additional $1,000 for "expected damages" on the first boat without inspecting it or listening to what happened. We were just a family looking to spend time together but now we are out so much money that we cannot fulfill the remainder of our vacation. Very disgusted with TC WaterSports. read more

0 stars!! We rented a speed boat for the entire day but the staff forgot to gas the boat up. They told us it was full and that the gauge does not work. A big storm rolled in and we ran out of gas. We rough winds and high waves. The employees, manager and owner did nothing besides ask about the condition of the boat. We had to call the coast guard as well as the Sheriff. We sat in the storm for 2 1/2 hours before getting picked up by the deputy. Once we got back to the rental location the owner insisted that the boat had a full tank (36 gallons). We ran out of gas in our first 2 hours of the rental. The owner did not take responsibility whatsoever. If you want a fun time out on the lake I would suggest going with another marina. I wouldnt return even if they paid me. There is a reason you can reserve last minute at TC watersports. This was the only marina that had availability for the type of boat we wanted. I called 5 others that were booked out all week. One was booked out a month in advance. Thank you to the coast guard and the sheriffs deputy who ended up picking us up and towing the boat! read more
