This location seems to be hit or miss. You can tell the location is a bit run down, but it's not too terrible. On my first visit, the store was clean, the staff were friendly, and the yogurt tasted great! On our second visit, it was the polar opposite - the store was dirty, staff could care less about their customers, the floors, etc., and the coffee yogurt tasted awful/almost like nothing. Not sure if it's the difference between day/night shift or what. But, it was sadly disappointing. However, they do have an excellent variety of toppings to choose from for your yogurt! Have not been to TCBY for years since they took away the drake and shield location. we loved that one! We didn't always necessarily enjoy this one as much, but since it was the only choice my daughter and I opted to try it out the other night. We had a free saturday night and finding something to do to make my teen daughter happy can sometimes be challenging. I suggested going to TCBY and she said yes. This location is over near garbanzos and big lots. In general there is plenty of parking. The location was clean. They only had one size cup out while we were there. I forgot it was priced by the ounce. It did seem a bit expensive.... We paid over $16 for 2 and i didn't have that much ice cream in mine. You pick your cup and then get whatever ice cream you would like. They have several varieties of dairy ice cream, one non dairy ice cream and several sorbets. After you have your selection you head over to the counter area, and put toppings on. There is fruit, nuts, candy, syrups, boba and more. Then you check out and go enjoy. Just a tip - as of March 2022 if you check in on yelp when you go in you can get 3 oz for free. I didn't know until i had already paid. Should have checked in first. darnit. Now i know if I go back. The young man who checked me out. Said nothing to me.... It was a little bit weird. Just stared at me until i put the cups on the scale. Aside from that it was a fine experience. I'm writing this just as a reply to some of the bad reviews. To the lady who complained about her son's cup costing $10, saying that he put a minimal amount in: The smallest cup size is 16oz. Everything is priced at .56/oz. If her son's cup cost $10, it was because he overfilled it, at about 16-18 ounces. People who fill their cups a reasonable amount typically pay around $4-5 for their dessert which is in the same ballpark as what you'd pay at any ice cream place. Typically, customers are able to get more bang for their buck here, though. To the people who complain about it being messy, please consider how busy it may be, or that you may be seeing the aftermath of a rush. The employees work very hard to try and keep up with the messes made, and keep everything filled and clean. But sometimes the messes happen faster than we can clean. How could management schedule ONE poor girl to work on a hot, summer, Saturday afternoon? No one would be able to keep up with the stream of yogurt-sealing customers. The store was dirty (actually, the last time I stopped in, it was also gross & dirty). All but two of the yogurt flavors were beeping "low mix". The two flavors I wanted were completely out. Again. NOT the fault of the teenage employee. This is a store management issue. It's bad business decisions like this that kill a business. Really enjoyed this place! Only downside is there wasn't a wide range of flavor selection for the froyo.

It's good froyo. Tons of toppings. But no small size cup option. (REALLY! No small! And they sell by weight!) Which means I won't be bringing kids here. It's far too hard to teach them a REASONABLE portion size, and we are not diet-focused in this house. They have games there, which I really like because it makes froyo an outing with an added dimension of engagement. No phones :-). But creating that environment then selling by weight without a small cup option is disingenuous. Three stars cuz I'm bummed. read more

Not a bad location for frozen yogurt. I think my biggest complaint is the fact there's no small cup sizes. Only the one size. I think this is inconvenient considering the fact they charge by weight. When I visited, there was only one girl working and she wasn't paying much attention as she was texting most of the time. The place isn't super clean but it's not filthy, either. The restroom was somewhat dirty.... Overall, the flavors available was great with something for everyone. The toppings selection was wonderful. There are tons of frozen yogurt places in town. It is a national trend for people who are into yogurt where there are plenty to pick from. I have been to a handful here in town and as far as I can tell they are all pretty much the same. For TCBY who has been around a long time now is a perfect time to open more locations. Perhaps I am just going to the wrong places for the best yogurt when I equate each frozen yogurt location to being very similar to each other. Not that I had a bad experience at these locations. I went to this TCBY recently and got chocolate yogurt. They had a lot of yogurt flavors and toppings. I settled for cherry bobas on my yogurt today. It was very tasty! TCBY seems to be quite a bit cheaper than other yogurt places in town which is nice. The cashier was friendly and the atmosphere has a cute retro chic to it. read more

Don't tip at this establishment. I deliver for another company and every time I get a delivery to this store they do not tip.

I'll start off by saying that the yogurt and toppings were good and the place was clean (also empty). The people working there were nice too. The reason for the 3 star rating... There were only 2 cup sizes available - the larger ones shown in the photo. It's ridiculous that there are not smaller cups. In the past few years that I've been there, I've always had to ask for a smaller cup which were kept behind the counter. Now there is a sign that says there are no other cup sizes and only the two larger ones were on the counter (not three, like in your photo). And like others, I was shocked at paying $27 for 3 (middle size) cups that were barely filled to the top of the cup. I expected to pay around $5 each. The only reason I can figure for not providing smaller cups is because you want customers to overfill their cups so you can make extra money. If that's not the case, then why not make them available? I'd also suggest providing a scale so that people can see how much they are getting. That would help with the sticker shock. I would think that a returning customer that buys less is better than one that doesn't return at all. read more

There are two wonderful things about this TCBY, in particular: - the staff (beyond reproach) - super friendly, super helpful - the flavors (unique, fresh, and often very tasty in combo) A visit when school is in session or during the average workday is wonderful. However... There's one major, major flaw in this TCBY: - the layout. Absolutely unforgivable layout mistakes make for a laughably awful customer experience. When even marginally full, you must walk between the cashier and tables (often between customers) or between two other tables and their customers... it's all very inconvenient and uncomfortable. A visit to this TCBY is an exercise in patience while you struggle not to step on fellow customers, hurl taster cups at rude customers, or have your yogurt melt before you can add toppings. There's no discernable order (or it seems, common courtesy) in how your fellow customers will decide to try out flavors or fill their cups. Left to right/right to left is just too difficult for some. If there are folks waiting, you can bet they'll be forced to wait a bit longer as some jerk decides to jump in front of them, thanks in no small part to the overly-crowded layout. Worse still, the parents who refuse to control their children. I'm all for taking your family out to ice cream (or frozen yogurt as the case may be). However, TCBY is -not- a playground and shouldn't be treated as such unless you believe duct tape is an acceptable babysitter or a stranger with a whiffle-ball bat should be able to herd your children while you decide whether to swirl or not. It's it good Fro-Yo? You bet. Is the staff the modern-day equivalent to the Ice Cream Shoppe sodajerk of old? You bet. But here - something as simple as a poor layout has absolutely killed the experience - and every time, of the three we've been here - the layout has been the problem (a layout which rewards stupid, rude, or otherwise lazy customers). Fix the layout and you'll (mostly) fix the bad customer issues. read more

How many Fro-Yo places do we need in Fort Collins? There's Coolberry, Spooners, Mahalo, Mai Berry, Golden Spoon, and now the newest addition and frozen yogurt pioneer - TCBY. Each one is different than the other, offering something slightly unique. However, I'm having a hard time finding the silver lining from TCBY. Sure, they are a 30-year-old company and the first to ever bring frozen yogurt to the masses. They've done a fantastic job of re-branding to stay relevant with the changing times. And, they've somehow discovered how to make "Super Fro-Yo," one of the healthiest frozen yogurt choices out there. But, I'm not sold. I remember eating their frozen yogurt regularly when I was a high school student in Vegas. It was a weekly treat for our family. Despite this, there's no nostalgic impression left on me, and I'm uninspired by their offerings. Everything tasted just fine. It was sweet, the toppings were fresh, and there's nothing that stopped me from eating it. I didn't feel anything about the place, one way or the other, which leads me to believe I won't be back. With the other frozen yogurt shops in Fort Collins, I know that I would be supporting small family businesses. I know that the frozen yogurt at Spooners is made with milk from Colorado cows, and I know that I can play games with my kids at Coolberry. There is nothing that draws me to TCBY. read more

Kiddo was promised ice cream after our latest outing and loudly proclaimed that he wanted TCBY. I slipped and referred to it as yogurt once and he gave me a look and said, "no, ice cream!" Oh well, it's fine by me. They were not busy at the time we went and the cashier was very friendly and helpful. They had a wide variety of flavors and I think kiddo tried half of them before he decided. It's nice that they have small tasting cups so you can do this if you are with a small person - or if you are just undecided between a few flavors. He ended up mixing 4 flavors together and then piling it high with extra goodies: boba, gummy bears, graham cracker crumbs, hot fudge, marshmallow sauce, and I'm not even sure what else. He LOVED it! I opted for cake batter and toffee swirl and added coconut and marshmallow sauce. It was actually really tasty. And, we got out of there for less than $5! Yay! Added bonus, the "sugar high" chatter on the drive home was totally amusing and super cute. read more

TCBY brings back fond memories of my high school days, meeting up with friends after school or taking the babysitter kids there for a treat in the summer. I stopped by this newest version of TCBY with a friend and little one in tow right after lunch on a Tuesday. We had a wonderful time! The girl working was very helpful and nice and the place was really clean. I LOVED the serve yourself feature of the store--being able to take my time, try a few flavors and decide what concoction I wanted to put together. The Fro-Yo was delicious. Exactly how I remembered it from back in the day, with a lot of extra wonderful flavors to choose from. I mentioned the time and day that I was there to address the concerns mentioned by a few other reviewers. The three of us were the only ones in the store at the time so we had the run of the place and could take as much time as we wanted hemming and hawing over what to get. I can see how, during a busier time, warmer day etc, that the layout would have been frustrating and chaotic. Keeping that in mind, I will definitely be back, but will probably limit my visit to the odd time of day when not so many people will be there. read more

So excited to see a TCBY while traveling. Couldn't wait to have some white chocolate moose, which I haven't had in years. Flipped a u turn and stopped in. Sign inside says the white choc moose machine is broken. WTH? I'm pretty sure it's just a bag of stuff that goes into the machine and they had plenty of those. Sad day for us. Yelp says free 8oz with check in but they don't have 8oz cups, and it wouldn't let us check in, um ok then. You can add as much FroYo and as many toppings as you want which is nice. They had a lot of toppings, and many flavors. Went here on a Wednesday afternoon on "Waffle cone Wednesday." Went to the register and waited nearly 10 minutes for the clerk to come out from the back. The clerk (young dark haired lady) told me to put my cone in the holder so to weigh it. I said, "Today is $2.99 waffle cones, correct?" She replied, "Oh we don't do that anymore." I told her I had been coming in on Wednesdays for years and asked her to confirm that this national promotion ended since last Wednesday, when I was at this location last. She was was adamant but appeared unconfident. I was unhappy but what was I going to do? Put the ice cream back? I was charged $7.22 for a waffle cone on Wednesday when it should have been $2.99 plus tax. On the way out I pointed out the poster by the door stating the deals/promotions for each day of the week, Monday through Friday. I pointed out to her, "it says right here, Wednesday- waffle cones $2.99." She shrugged her shoulders and said, "I guess we should have taken the sign down." I was so upset by this point I just left. I should have stood my ground, asked to speak to a manager etc. despite melting ice cream dripping down my hand. To this date, 6 weeks later, TCBY (this Troutman location) is still doing waffle cone Wednesdays. Why she lied, I'm not sure. My family and I have been coming here for a while and have seen the quality and cleanliness of the store declining steadily over the past few months. One time when we visited, there were three employees working and there was trash all over the floors and the bathrooms were disgusting. I would give a zero star if I could. I promised my little girl a crepe, and that is the only reason that I bought one at this store. I ordered a cinna-roll which was listed on the board for $4.50, they charged me over $6 for it! When pointed out that the price on the board was $4.50 they argued that there was an up charge for extra flavors. I pointed out that I didn't ask for any other flavor they adamantly insisted that the corporation charged it that way and would not charge me the correct amount. Huh? Love this place! Yes, there are times I've seen toppings on the floor, however, I've witnessed the very satisfied children helping themselves with huge smiles of accomplishment on their faces too. This is a super busy store, I should know, I'm here 4-5 times per week! The staff is always helpful, happy and I've seen how they clean up spills between rushes. Ok...I'm a FroYo lover, used to work for a similar company through high school and, if the machines are still made the same way, the red flashing light doesn't mean it's out of yogurt, it means it is down to the final 2 gallons. Do you know how much yogurt they will still dispense? Tons! And, for health safety, you want them to run out before adding more mix if it's not a continuing flavor so it can be cleaned. No more haters! This crew does a fabulous job and it is run very efficiently, not to mention, very clean when kiddos aren't present. Kuddos to them for allowing them to be self sufficient! My daughter had a party there for her 7th birthday. I spoke with Madeline, one of the managers, ahead of time to let her know we would have 13 guests. She was so nice! Tables had been reserved for us ahead of time. The children were given chef's hats and coats to wear and pictures to color as they waited. When the birthday girl arrived, Stacy gave the children a "behind the scenes" tour. Then, they got to eat yogurt and toppings until they were stuffed! The staff was so polite. They told us to stay as long as we needed to so the birthday girl could unwrap her presents and even offered to help me out to our car. The two staffers kept the restaurant and counters very clean!
