The price of an oil change may be a little bit pricier than a Mr Car Wash, but I feel better about coming here. Ben first told me about how my car and other Toyotas tend to burn through oil quickly. Sometimes when I came in for 3k Mile oil change, I would have almost no oil left. Ben was the first one to tell me to check it every thousand miles and add more as needed. This past time, I heard a weird grinding noise on my brakes. I came to take in my car. Ben wasn't there but the other guy looked at it and said that my brake rotor on my back passenger was damaged and I needed to repair it before more damage. It was $250 for 1 brake rotor and pad repair and $320 for both. I figured it made sense to get both done, since he's already working on it. He got my car fixed in around 3 hours on a Wednesday before Christmas. So thankful! He was super helpful, quick, knowledgeable and efficient, especially for being the only guy there that day! Wait room only has 4 chairs and some National Geographic magazines. Usually no one else is waiting, so it's fine! Xfinity Wifi is available and is pretty fast.

I ended up paying a supposedly discounted total of $348.20 at Mike Tates 99 Auto for an oil change,…read morea tire rotation, and a battery installation and registration using a battery I provided. This turned out to be an incredibly frustrating and costly experience. The shop charged $221.94 just for the battery service, which was particularly disappointing considering a local O'Reilly's had offered to do the installation for free if I purchased the battery from them. The service was also plagued by unnecessary delays and oversight. I was forced to pay out-of-pocket for two unexpected Uber rides because the shop kept my vehicle overnight, claiming the mechanic lacked the "proprietary tool" required to remove the battery. In reality, the job only requires a standard 10mm socket for the terminals and a 13mm socket with an extension for the hold-down bolt. To make matters worse, despite paying for a tire rotation, the shop completely missed that two of the rotated tires were left low on pressure. I chose to support a neighborhood business, but this experience was a lesson well learned.

I was greeted by the new owner John who is the son of the previous owner. We all know how that usually goes - but not in this case. The new owner John was every bit as hospitable and concerned with getting my vehicle fixed correctly and getting me back on the road as his father was. The kicker is I had dropped my rental policy when my wife was not working and forgot to add it back when she started working. Rental prices where high and felt like a nightmare trying to rent a car. After John learned of this he coordinated by drop-off time to a time he could arrange for a loaner car for me to use. Needless to say, but my Hummer looks great, better than before the accident, and I plan to take my Hummer in for some additional work. Thank you John (and amazing crew) for your awesome service!
